What is your primary use case for SAP S4HANA?

I'm an architect. S/4HANA is an intelligent enterprise. When an organization needs an application or software to run its operations, S/4HANA comes into play. SAP is the market leader in ERP. S/4HANA is not a traditional ERP anymore, but an intelligent enterprise. That's the power of S/4HANA.

I use the solution in my company to pay for procurement, finance, and asset management, and we use all its modules across the board for everything.

My company's clients use the solution as an ERP tool.

It has supported our client's digital transformation initiatives. There are two versions of S/4HANA: on-premise and on-cloud. We haven't seen many client use cases for the cloud version yet, mostly pilots and proof of concepts (POCs) on Azure. We sometimes convince clients to go for the cloud version for analytics purposes. However, 80-90% of the time, clients use the on-premise version. Clients run their entire enterprise on it, requiring customizations, which we help them with.

We use SAP for business processes.

I mainly use it for finance activities like FICO, SD, etc.

Our company provides SAP services for the SAP ECC version and the latest SAP S/4HANA version running on the SAP HANA database. SAP S/4HANA is used by SMEs, large enterprises, and Fortune 500 companies that are globally distributed. For ERP solution requirements for the aforementioned companies, I believe SAP is the market leader that provides end-to-end solutions to cater to all business requirements, daily business transactions and operations. As part of the business operations, SAP solutions are used for inventory, procurement, production, planning, quality maintenance, post-production, post-quality check, dispatching, and sales. SAP also caters to completing end-to-end financial processes in fields ranging from expense to revenue. SAP also has multiple add-ons for services in analytics, data warehousing, and advanced or enterprise warehouse management with SaaS productive solutions. There is another SAP Ariba product used for advanced P2P, payment and procurement processes. SAP also has solutions for CRM and customer solutions and multiple other products for every line of business. SAP has ideal tools for retail, hospitality management, agriculture, and Oil & Gas businesses. Depending on customer requirements and their line of business, our company provides suitable SAP services. Based on certain prerequisites like company turnover and yearly revenue, SAP products or system licenses can be adopted. Based on the user licenses procured, whether on-prem or cloud, the solution can be managed by the vendor. SAP products are also adopted by all lines of businesses, including automotive and manufacturing. Our company not only implements SAP S/4HANA but also manages the migration from older versions to the latest SAP S/4HANA. For any dedicated projects with SAP S/4HANA, there are some taxation-based processes and procurement processes to develop or customize the solution.

We've integrated SAP S/4HANA into our implementation projects for customers, not internally. We use SAP S/4HANA for real-time analytics and decision-making.

SAP S/4HANA is the predominant solution from SAP, replacing the earlier SAP ECC. It's widely used for overall enterprise resource planning, including running banking operations and other enterprise functions.

We use the solution as an ERP system for our retail operations and manufacturing.

SAP S/4HANA is primarily employed for data analysis and analytics. It involves engaging with data within the platform to perform analytics and generate insights, focusing on optimizing data collection and analysis at the database level.

Many companies are currently going for SAP S/4HANA because the maintenance for their SAP ERP or SAP ECC will be over the next year. Even their extended maintenance will be over by 2028. Some companies have gone for mergers and acquisitions and want common processes across their entities. Hence, they chose a good ERP system like SAP S/4HANA.

We use the solution to import master data. We use classic resolution to collect local US company material masters and align HQ material masters' numbers. We import FI/CO/MM/PP/SD IMG and opening posting accounts and stock. We use it to import transactional data. We collect purchase orders and sales orders into S4H We also use it to import security. We collect user roles and permission objects. We provide training requirements for logistic modules for sales orders to intercompany purchase orders and make production orders for goods issued and goods received. Finally, we run production order confirmations for cost variants.

Most of our customers have their applications hosted on SAP. Therefore, they have stored the data on SAP S/4HANA database.

Many look for companies and partners who can help them implement SAP S/4HANA. So, we help in the implementation phase. We provide ongoing support as well.

I work for a consulting company. Globally, we have clients in oil and gas, construction, and other industries. We have about 26 people using this solution.

Our company implements the solution for customers in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. We manage transformational projects that include selection, upgrade, or replacement of systems that require ERP solutions. Our biggest implementation was for a chemical company's software hub that was custom-built on an AS/400 mainframe and they wanted to move to an ERP system. After a six-month package selection process, we chose the solution combined with extensions provided by an implementation partner that added specific functionality and narrowed down customizations. Across all of our projects, there are 5,000 users of the solution.

We use SAP S4HANA in a distribution business. We have the main site which purchases all material for management and then it goes through the main warehouses to the distribution sites. Finance controls, sales, and distribution are already there with the treasury added on top of the project.

We are a pre-sales team and I have been working as a consultant for SAP S4HANA. Most often, we deal with manufacturing CPG customers. We prefer the complete SAP S4HANA Suite, with all of the functionalities, and the use cases are typically everything that is offered from the processes in that suite.
