Authentication is only possible through Check Point Identity Awareness technology, limiting some customers' deployment options. In terms of the challenges I faced during the initial setup of Check Point Web Gateway, I would say that the different technologies or the different security features within the product do have different configuration options, which are distributed over several places and not necessarily consolidated in one place. You have to find those options within the whole configuration, and it is not a central configuration point for the security features that you typically use in a secure web gateway. The tool's stability needs improvement. The biggest problem is with updates. Things that used to work before do not work anymore, and it impacts the stability because it directly affects the product's availability. The quality assurance for updates and fixes could be better.
I haven't come across any other tool that can compete with Check Point Web Gateway. Until now, I don't think the tool has an area where it should improve. The tool's response time can be improved since sometimes it lags, but not always, so it can be described as a rare case. Though the tool's UI is good for me, there is little scope for improvement. The tool's UI should be made more dynamic.
We have problems configuring Check Point Remote Access VPN. The clients are connected to Remote Access VPN by IP assignment. The issue is very hard to resolve because we authenticate in Check Point.
There is room for improvement in support because the solution needs multiple regions to reach certain features and validations. Once, we had a major issue with NAT exhaustion, and we did not have the right connection because the NAT was failing. Those logs do not have direct visibility, which is needed to identify what's happening. That, again, exhausted the CPU utilization when we used debug.
The solution should improve integration. Today, its scalability is one of its few characteristics that must be improved. We may need to consider an alternative solution due to its complexity. We need more elasticity to make it more scalable, dynamic, and efficient. It is important to note that many of its analytics features are among the best, yet it still needs improvements and updates that are faster and more efficient under control directives and policies. We would like an easy deployment and a solution that can scale vertically or horizontally.
The set features have been guarding our websites against external attacks effectively. The learning curve is complex for new users. That said, with time, everything runs effectively. The cost of deployment and maintenance is high for SMEs. We have achieved most set goals as planned without failure. Antivirus features block trojans and harmful content from affecting workflows, and that has saved us a lot of money. Updates come late, sometimes exposing the organization to attacks that can affect operations. This product has good features that have been of great improvement overall.

The tool complies with all security details. They need to further modernize the manuals and documentation by creating a nice library. The product requires prior knowledge and information in order to use it effectively. It would be difficult for an engineer with minimal experience to understand it. Technical support should be improved. It does not comply very well with the SLA since it takes too long to answer a case or to schedule a meeting. The solutions are often not very efficient. They should improve the latency of the control panel.
I would like to be able to see an integration with centralized management services. When I say centralized, I mean maybe even R80 management. I'd like one appliance for centralized management that could handle other features. I don't know if doing this is part of the business strategy of Check Point, however, maybe we could see it in the future.
An improvement that can be made at the manufacturer level is to be able to modernize the manuals and documentation more. There currently is no documentation for the most modern versions, or it is more difficult to find. Also, they should improve the costs in order to have greater competition against other solutions. I am not saying that it is an overvalued tool. On the contrary, it is incredibly effective and safe, however, it could have price improvements to increase competition at the cost level compared to other manufacturers.
The aspects that we have evaluated over time to give an opinion on an improvement that the Check Point security manufacturer can generate are the following: 1- Improvement of technical support. It is important that Check Point can generate greater growth at the support level. Errors are not always easily solved. 2- Updated Documentation. Some documents needed to implement with the best practices are difficult to understand, take longer than expected to apply, and sometimes even require support. 3- The costs. Some Check Point features are somewhat expensive.

One of the areas to improve is support, since sometimes we open cases, and have difficulty scheduling a meeting that would help us with some issues in the implementation of the best practices. The documentation needs to improve. Sometimes it is a bit confusing to find the most current guides that can provide the effective help that the client requires, however thanks to the commitment of the partner it helped us to find the necessary extra help.
I have not come across anything that would need to be improved as I have only worked with Check Point Web Gateway for about two years. Check Point Web Gateway could add an end point access function. Their competitors can deploy all data via AG Subway on mobile devices, giving customers access from the endpoint. This option has been available for some four years now at Check Point Web Gateway's competitors.
Most of the time, we are struggling when it comes to getting support. Due to this, we have now have taken TAM support and have also taken third-party support for this product. Generally, the support experience is not what we expect from Check Point.
Check Point Web Gateway is a cloud-based network security solution that provides multilayered security for company websites. It establishes site-to-site VPNs, protects cloud environments, filters traffic and URLs, and prevents malware and other threats. The solution is cloud-based and easy to manage; it offers granular policies and generates personalized reports and statistics.

The main challenge is that there's management for cloud only. Management of the account portal is not there. On-prem setup is not available.

Check Point can introduce Honeypot. A honeypot is a dummy server inside the network to identify the numeric attack pattern.
The documentation must be improved. It will help the engineers to upskill themselves.
