The primary challenge is adapting the standard product to our workflows and specific needs. We are currently working on or have challenges to solve with PTC. Codebeamer is user-friendly, but we have issues with some specific topics.
Honestly, I don't think too much about what the product needs to improve. The product's UI is an area of concern where improvements are required. The product's UI is not friendly. I just think that the product needs to have some other UI design to make it more friendly for users because the current UI makes it hard for new users to understand the system fast enough to be able to use the system in their jobs. The UI is not very intuitive.
Certain areas in Codebeamer could be improved, like addressing small issues, glitches, or bugs. Making the platform more open for users would be beneficial, allowing for a richer user experience. Transparency in marketing and clearer communication of the tool's advantages could also be enhanced. From a management perspective, it is crucial to highlight the asset management capabilities, which are valuable for those dealing with budgets.

There are a lot of bits and pieces that need to be improved. It's like a teenager. It's no longer a startup, yet not mature yet. It's still a fairly new tool that lacks maturity right now. For example, if you compared it to Jira, which is more mature, you can see that some things are done better due to the fact that Jira is older. It needs better integration for office documents, et cetera. There could be more user-friendly integration between office documents and requirements. Users might say the UI is complex, however, the solution covers so many items, you need to accept the complexity. It's an in-depth solution. For some people, it may be better to have special setups to set up the GUI to show only specific items to make it simpler. It would be nice to have some sort of mash-up GUI, which is possible in Jira so that we can customize to roles specific to, for example, problem management, testers, et cetera. They should have their own GUI related to their roles.

There are thousands of requirements that are modified or which are reviewed; those reviews cannot be seen at one single point in time. You need to click on each individual review item to check it out. The search and replace feature within the tool itself could be improved. Not using any other third-party tools.
The solution has a very small market share in China. It's almost like a startup. The solution tends to eat up a budget. The solution needs to be marketed better in China to give it more visibility. The initial setup is complex. The manuals and UI are all in English, which makes it difficult for some end-users as it causes a language barrier. There needs to be Chinese documentation and training materials.
You should be able to combine multiple parameters in a single gadget, and you should be able to retrieve that particular value. For example, if a feature is in support, we want to understand things like how many days it has been there, how many users have searched for it, and so on, for a specific period of time. Being able to track how many days it has been in support is important, but there might be a lot of these different parameters. Having a single value generated would be helpful for tracking. During the initial setup, I did not see any documentation to assist users with the steps that are required to get started. I would like to see more, easily trackable reports. Ultimately, I would like to see real-time data, real-time reports, and real-time data analytics.

During migrations from other platforms to CodeBeamer, there have been instances where we encountered issues that required redoing certain tasks.
