McAfee could improve the administrative interface. It's functional but could be more user-friendly. Also, ongoing support and updates are important aspects.
I would consider additional measures if I needed a higher level of protection, such as implementing more firewalls and other security measures. But this kind of first level of protection, it's okay. However, there is room for improvement in terms of stability.

My company did not face any issues which McAfee could not resolve. In our company, we have another solution that we use through Cisco for our handheld devices, but we don't find it for McAfee. Vendors like Cisco support the integration with the other devices. McAfee MOVE AntiVirus does not support integration with other devices, making it an area where improvements are required.
The vendor is very pushy on some of the partner products. If we have McAfee installed, the search engine in my browser automatically becomes Yahoo, which I do not want. Every time, I need to change it back. The moment McAfee starts, it resets to Yahoo. It’s really a pain. I never asked for Yahoo to be my default search engine. The product must stop pushing the wrong sort of upgrades all the time. They keep doing commercial upsells and partner promotions. The tool slows down the computer a little bit sometimes.
The user interface of McAfee MOVE AntiVirus could benefit from some improvements. The excessive pop-ups can be bothersome, particularly when sharing my screen online, as I often get interrupted by the notifications. While I understand there is an option to disable these pop-ups, I feel that it should be disabled by default. Although I appreciate the overall design of the graphical user interface, the constant interruptions detract from the user experience.
I'm not sure if there are any features that need improvement. I haven't compared it to anything else, so I'm not sure what would make it better. The security could always be better. I'd always like to have more protection.
SentinelOne provides a cloud solution that McAfee MOVE AntiVirus should as well. When all other vendors come out with new features they are implemented by all the other vendors within a few months. However, this is not the case with McAfee MOVE AntiVirus. They should update their features more often to be more competitive with the market.
We'd like the price point to be more attractive to potential users. If I was offered a stripped-down version of it at a more reasonable price, I would be happier.

The system could perform better and faster. The latest Windows, like 10 and 11, have the internal defenders available in the setup itself. It was pre-installed and it was available with the package itself. I didn't have to pay anything separately for that, so that's why I'm just keeping it as it is. Another problem is I can't delete it or I can only disable it, so when the self protective system is already in place, I don't think an additional antivirus is needed.

I found that the interface is a little bit confusing. It's over-stuffed. If a new IT person comes in, it is difficult to understand how the McAfee console works. It needs to be more user-friendly and not as complicated. It would be nice if the solution could add in some ransomware features.

This solution requires you to deploy multiple agents for multiple jobs which is unfortunate. There is the antivirus, there is a DLP client, there is a media client. I'd like to see all of these combined into a single agent that does everything without consuming significant resources. That would be a great innovation from the endpoint security point of view. Rather than having different tools, the DLP DR should be integrated and simplified into one single security solution.

The process of enabling drive encryption can be improved. It takes a long time to enable drive encryption. For some reason, we have to keep monitoring it. It takes a few hours to update the policies, which finally encrypts the drive. It's a very slow process, and we have to sit there and watch what goes on. Sometimes I also see that there isn't any reporting back to the central team that someone's system isn't up to date.

The software is dependent on the operating system of the computer. In some cases, the virus does not get cleaned completely. Regular updates on the status of the virus that may not have been cleaned entirely would help. I would like to see more emphasis on cybersecurity in the next release.
This solution is okay for users who are just office personnel. Developers or users who heavily use their laptops complain that it really slows down their laptops. Using this solution can be a big challenge from the performance perspective if you need a productive system that locally runs multiple VMs.

Sometimes, the updates don't happen successfully. The updates start, but they are not completed. Let's say there is a process that runs on the server-side every night, and it pushes the updates. Sometimes, these updates fail. I'm not sure whether it is a McAfee's problem or an internal problem with our systems. If this is really an issue with McAfee MOVE AntiVirus, McAfee can work on it and improve it in the next release. If it is an internal issue, I need to figure out why it is happening within the organization. We may need to take some technical support from McAfee to see what the problem is and then we need to get it fixed. At this point in time, all I know is that it happens sometimes.

We are currently doing a project where we need assistance on the File Integrity Monitoring feature for McAfee as well as the ability to do classification of data. That feature is there for data protection. We need help to implement it properly. They could improve the monitoring and classification of the data features. Additionally, I want to experience the EDR of McAfee. Basically, EDR is the most potent threat now, that's the major concern for a lot of people. This is what is called the file-less attacks. Processes that run in memory, traditional antivirus software are not able to detect that. So the EDR feature has been made to provide the defense mechanism for the endpoint. Those processes can be stopped from running in memory once they are seen as malicious. That's what I understand EDR does. So I want to experience the EDR feature for McAfee to see how that compares with what we are currently using.
The advanced threat protection is not as good as the competitors. They are not as fast as the other competitors in detecting new threats. They can be anywhere from half a day to a day behind the other solutions before detecting the threat. The admin interface is very old. In the next release, they could refresh the GUI. It would be appreciated.
