There are certain shortcomings associated with the virtualization infrastructure. If it is possible to have some kind of infrastructure that provides application visibility, then it can be a huge advantage for the users. I would like to expand a total maintenance solution for the infrastructure side which can include applications, storage, and everything. Veeam ONE will be confined to some VM resource-level solutions, but I think it needs to grow beyond that. I want the product to be available at a cheaper rate.

In terms of improvement, I have found Veeam ONE to be lacking in some areas. The reports are basic and not customizable, making it challenging to get detailed insights. Additionally, there are limitations with the reports if your backup schedule runs overnight. I hope they release a better version soon.

I have no visibility on what needs to be improved in the solution. For our company's usage, the price of the product is considered to be one of the major drawbacks because we have a lot of infrastructure, and its services don't fit well with our needs. The aforementioned area can be considered for improvement in the solution. The price of the product should be reduced.

In future releases, I would like to see more automation capabilities. It could integrate with automation services to automatically resolve identified issues rather than simply providing instructions to the user. Moreover, I would like to see customization on the dashboard and the reporting level. Another area of improvement is the support.

Veeam One has its ransomware monitoring, but it's based on static parameters. Maybe they can put in AI or ML to get an understanding of our customer's environment, so we don't need to manually tweak the static parameters to meet the customer's environment.
There are not enough charts and diagrams available. Other solutions, such as VMware's vRealize, offer a more extensive range of charts and diagrams for monitoring the environment. Enhancing the user experience, particularly in terms of providing more comprehensive chart and diagram options, would be beneficial.
It would be better if the solution presented the number of servers and the success rate on the dashboard. Currently, we have to click on user history or get it through emails.
Sometimes the solution give reports that are confusing and has errors. So the integration of the full solution with the resolution of resolving the error should be added in the next release. The solution should also provide more customization, automation, better documentation.
I would like the solution to have better integration with other hypervisors and cloud features that are not exclusive to VMware. Additionally, I would like the ability to integrate with Nutanix. There is room for improvement in this area.

Agent backups could be better. I have many problems with agent backups, particularly on Linux and MySQL databases. MySQL works well with Microsoft products but not with other products. The database backups are not working correctly, and we are losing business. I am not getting any support; administration is also a significant problem.
Sometimes, it's a little difficult for me to use its user interface. Its scope is very big with a lot of tuning, settings, and so on. If it's difficult for me, it must also be difficult for our customers.
I've never considered what improvements Veeam needs, and I haven't asked our customers if there is any room for improvement. As the manager, I only see the reports. From my side, it's more than enough for me.
The user interface is quite extended, and sometimes it's difficult to find the right information. Once you know and are familiar with it, it's okay. The user interface could be simplified. There is a lot of information, so maybe the dashboards could consolidate it.
It would be great if Veeam ONE had a business hour reporting feature because sometimes a client would want to know what workers do during business hours and outside of business hours. This type of report will give you the added benefit when you're scaling up and scaling down in the cloud, for example, if I wanted to swap hot and cold storage during specific hours to save on cost. Business hour reporting in Veeam ONE will give you a lot of benefits and added value. Scalability needs to be improved in the solution.
When we install an application, we have backups available in another drive and have to import those backups into the machine. Sometimes, rarely, there is a bug that prevents enabling the restore button, which is hectic. We then have to go into the folder and double-click to fix the issue. However, improvements can be made to prevent the bugs and improve restoration and importing of previous backups into the new one. I don't think any additional features are required as it is already packed with many features.
If you don't have technical knowledge about these services, monitoring the virtual machines is hard. The solution is flexible if you have the correct knowledge though, so if you have knowledge about newer technical services, it's easy.
Veeam ONE does the basic job of reporting, but it does not meet my requirements of automated resolution. In future releases, I would like to see the solution provide auto resolution and auto relocation of resources.

I think Veeam ONE should be included in the base product instead of as an add-on because customers tend to look for simple solutions that are integrated. In the next solution, I would like Veeam to add support for other less-used hypervisors like Oracle VM, consolidating these products into one console.
It's not that easy to use from the management side. The solution needs to improve its traditional backups. They back up data as others do at the moment - however, it's not as good. Also, restoring is very fast, however, they need some improvement in deduplication. It's more the management in the level of replication. There needs to be a much higher level of replication. Right now, it's a basic replication in the secondary site. The recovery needs to be much faster as recovery is very important. The fastest recovery is from Rubrik. Rubrik is the fastest recovery backup solution, and Cohesity is the same as it depends on the hardware which they have. Veeam should come with the hardware as others, like Cohesity, come with the hardware.

Veeam's biggest limitation is the lack of integration. I can't use the tool because there is no integration between the tool and the environment. Honestly, we can't use it with the rest of the environment— the hardware and software and so on. It's a huge problem. We are just using it for backup monitoring.

You have several monitors you have to tune. You have several snapshots on the volume and so on, and this is the standard. However, for example, if you have Rezon from VMware, you have much more snapshots on the volume, and yet it's not a problem as Rezon doesn't have these issues with the huge number of snapshots. They should offer more snapshots on Veeam. The pricing could be reduced. When you have to renew the licenses you sometimes have some trouble getting rid of the old one and reassigning it to the new one. That's an aspect that could run smoother and could be better.

They need to support more platforms. Right now, they support their Veeam Backup Replication product, which means they provide monitoring and visibility reporting to the backup infrastructure and the backup portion. However, for some people, they're not using VMware. They are not using Hyper-V, or they have other workloads. For example, they have Nutanix. Veeam can monitor the backups, which is part of Veeam Backup Replication, however, it cannot monitor Nutanix itself. They also do not monitor physical workloads, for example, physical Windows Servers and physical Linux Servers. They report their backups. They monitor their backups through Veeam Backup Replication. They don't have server monitoring and reporting. That's where there is room for improvement. The management software for Veeam ONE is installed only on Windows. Recently, for some reason, a client didn't have the feature "offload backups to object storage", like Azure cloud storage, and for some reason, we were unable to locate any sort of particular report for that particular backup point. Having much more extensive backup reports would be great. They have a lot of backup reports which are great, and they have the option to create backup customer reports, however, it would be great to have additional reports along the way.

To make it a better solution they could improve the business feature and the camera. When we have a problem, we want to use the best feature. We would like to see a better solution for when your software has crashed for a minute or you can't open your software. We would like a better solution to recover your software. Overall, Veeam ONE could be improved if it had a better data recovery feature.
I haven't used the solution for long enough to really be able to consider features that may be lacking. I haven't had enough time to work with it. The appliance doesn't have a domain. If there was a competitor with a domain, I'd likely use them.

The threshold could be easier to configure. I would like to see more automation and integration with their own backups. Currently, you can stop and start a backup, but it would be nice if you could initiate a reinstall using Veeam ONE.
This is not a highly customizable solution but there is very little that needs improvement in this product. They actually improved the UI, it has a very Window-ish interface now so that once you log into the console, all your servers are listed down the left hand side, and particularly for an auditor, you can see the policies and make changes, search for the retention, the backups, etc. As an IT professional, we want everything free so the price of the product could be reduced, but they do need to pay their developers.
The additional features are: * Running control of both network and IOPS on physical infrastructure * Predicting compatibility requirements to transfer resources from physical to virtual to meet backup RPO and RTO within 15 minutes * Especially adding application objects to backup VM cluster (Oracle RAC, SQL cluster, AD delegation, Exchange DAG, MySQL Cluster).
Veeam Data Platform backs up and replicates virtual machines, protects server farms, provides database backup, and delivers disaster recovery solutions. Veeam Data Platform is recognized for its ease of setup, reliability, and ability to handle diverse IT infrastructures. It is popular among users for its data...
The price could be cheaper. Veeam ONE should make the work easier without installing additional dashboards to start configuration.
