Improvements are needed in integration, especially for WhatsApp call and messages. Our region heavily uses WhatsApp Messenger for communication, and integration with this platform would be beneficial. Clients often ask for network path analysis, which is available in competitors' tools but not in WhatsApp Gold.

I like the product as it is. The tool should focus on increasing its market share, as it is the only area of concern where improvements are needed. The tool's market share is only two percent, so it should focus on PR activities. I would want the tool's market share to be twenty percent.

Importing the maps and being able to customize them could be easier. Our network architect was able to import our maps, but if there was an easier way to customize the maps, that process could be easier so that others could be able to do it.
There is room for improvement in server management and application monitoring. An additional feature I would like to see in the next release would be more detailed application monitoring capabilities.
I don't have any thoughts in terms of areas of improvement. I might like to see a better interface in the future. It's not necessarily easy to integrate the product with other vendors.

WhatsUp Gold should work on real-time monitoring and configuration management. If they succeed in doing this, the solution will cover all the network troubleshooting aspects and will be a benefit. We are not moving to the newer version of WhatsUp Gold because they removed the virtualized maps.
The point system is not clear and clarity around this would improve our understanding of the system. In a future release, we would like our SAP-related applications to be monitored under a single dashboard.

The new release cadence needs to be improved. It takes a while for them to add new features and functionality. There should be a quicker turnaround with new versions.

We use it for network discovery but it's not really good enough. We can never achieve or get a good picture of the network topology. There are inconsistencies in advertisement and how much it can do in network discovery. It doesn't do what it indicates it will do. I would like a deeper description of the solution and how they achieve it. What is advertisement phrases is not reality and we cannot achieve it. We need more customization. It's all about customization. I would like to see more features that clearly describe how they are going to discover a node on the network. Also, we would like to know the probabilistic information. For example, to know that the methods, in general, allow discovery of up to some percentage of nodes. We used different settings from what they provide, but we were never close to getting a network topology that we expected to get. It would be nice to have the ability to identify devices with multiple network interfaces.

Honestly, I do not particularly like WhatsUp Gold. I think we should get rid of it. It is so old. It has not been upgraded in about six years. The interface looks like something from the nineties. I am quite used to using the Paessler AG product. That is PRTG (Paessler Router Traffic Grapher) and the two have little in comparison. It could be improved by being more like PRTG. If WhatsUp were going to work on updating the product, I would like to see some improvements in the interface. The dashboards could be a lot better.

The licensing model could be improved. Right now, the levels are too far apart. This causes the solution to be more expensive than it needs to be. For us, the change of interface in the newer versions was too much and a lot of our users didn't like it. It was a deciding factor for us in not upgrading.

The pricing could be reduced. They should offer it for less. Users want SMS available via Whatsapp Gold. They don't want to go through third party SMS servers. The solution should work to make this possible.
Integrations with other devices. I want to have a product that has full integration with my active directory so I can track user activity. I want to track my complete user activity, so I'm looking for a product to implement in the near future, which will have full integration with my network and active directory users. It became very difficult to track user activity.
This product should add other options for monitoring. It does not currently meet the broader needs of the banking industry in the version we have deployed. We are looking to monitor our ATMs Machina .

One of the biggest things that made us start to look at another product is we're not able to have an end to end monitoring from a user perspective throughout the system and back to the user. All the monitoring is from inside out, we need something that also can give us from outside in. WhatsApp is great as long as you use it for Windows servers, but we need to use it for a SQL environment. That's where the lack is. That's the big two points on the board that made us look for an alternative. But, we haven't found an alternative, so we're still using it. That's a part of the service that can be improved. The one that I have submitted that really bugs me the most is when you make templates for servers and you use equivocal monitors you can't preset the order of the equivocal monitors. So, it will set it alphabetically. That is where I have the greatest trouble with it, is I want the ping to be the first equivocal monitor because if the server doesn't answer to the ping I don't care about anything else. And on the Citrix servers, the second thing I want is to always have the SMNP service running, because we check most of our this by SNMP. On the Citrix server, we have the SQL email service that controls the logins, so if that service is down no user can log onto the server. That last one, how I have named this, that one starts with C for Citrix. All my Citrix monitors start with Citrix in the name to inform me what system they are for. That one comes to the top of the list so when a Citrix server does not respond to ping, unless WhatsApp states that, the login server sets off a ping, which is true, but that's not the reason. I want a solution for how we can change the order on 600 Citrix servers. But it seems I have to do that manually. I'm not sure we if have a big enough part of servers to be a client of WhatsApp or not. But I can't manually sit and update the servers.

The price could be improved. When we first started using this product, the company was new. The prices were very low then, in comparison with HP OpenView or IBM, but now the policy is too high, relative to the number of devices we have. We don't need all the features, and we don't use the tool for the large scale services intended for large data centers. We use it only for the network devices, switches, routers, but now most of the new features are related to data centers and high-end devices. This is not useful for us. The features are working fine, and the features for the new models are very interesting, but it's not possible to have this at this price policy for us. It might be good for business, but it's not good for us. We have asked to have another policy price and look at step prices because if you buy a version for 200 devices, 1,000 devices, or 4,000 devices, there should be different prices. I think it would be better to have a linear price list. This isn't only a problem for WhatsUp. It's the problem of many other products too.

The version that we are using seems pretty clunky and not very well-designed. I would like to see the user interface improved to provide a better flow. It seems that the interface is designed by an engineer. I like to have a technical interface, but in this solution, some things need to be better presented. I would like to see better integration with switches so that you can see what is connected to each port, what the traffic is, and have a network map automatically generated.
The user interface has room for improvement. I would like to see them do an enhancement to the application monitoring. A lot of other products do better application monitoring so they should do some improvements to the application monitoring. I would rate it an eight out of ten.
