When it comes to administration tasks like configuring specific filters or group signatures, I have to dig into the configuration since there's nothing in the graphical or web interface. The solution’s forums don't have much information or documentation on administration tasks. Open-Xchange has a much better administration interface.

Some issues cause the solution not to function correctly or to cause downtime once a month. New features could be implemented, or areas could be enhanced, such as the email feature.
They could provide a push email functionality for the enterprise version. We utilize SMTP to send emails to basic users for office usage. They could introduce a similar functionality for mobile usage as well. They should enhance its online meeting features, particularly in comparison to robust platforms like Microsoft Office 365 Teams.
There is a lot of patch installation needed in Zimbra Collaboration, and sometimes using the new patches, we end up finding some other vulnerabilities. The new patches are, at times, not so good, so we don't install them, causing the tool to be not so stable overall. Seemingly, the new patches are not tested before Zimbra releases them.

The only problem I face with the product is spam. I do not have any other big problems. The antispam and antivirus features are hard to understand on mobile devices. The solution should improve the features to provide more clarity to the users.
We have had an issue with security. We had attacks in the summer, which is why we didn't buy the latest update. The security is bad. I'm not sure if it was on Zimbra's end or the firewall's or human error.

Zimbra Collaboration's video conferencing could be improved. Their documentation is also mainly in English, and it would be useful to have it available in other languages. There's also a problem with the new Admin NG module, which makes it possible for the administrator to access users' mail on their system, which is particularly problematic for organizations with confidentiality requirements. This feature cannot be removed, though you can choose whether or not to activate it. In the next release, Zimbra Collaboration should make all the features from their previous web interface available on their new one.
Zimbra Collaboration does not have a solution roadmap as aggressive as the new collaboration mail solutions. Additionally, they can have a better interface and integration with single sign-on.

Zimbra Collaboration could improve the migration from a basic solution to a more containerized solution. For example, the installation should be able to extend to the containers and manage them with some solution, such as OpenShift or Kubernetes. The video conference solution Zimbra Connect is a mediocre solution for video conferences. They should make it more similar to Office 365 and add some collaboration with other solutions, such as Alfresco.

It would be great if a group chat feature were created to allow for a team environment. The current chatting facility only allows for one-to-one chats.

Yahoo acquired Zimbra, and Yahoo Mail is a web-based email, not a software platform. So as part of the acquisition, they have to continue providing support to the open-source license holders. But lately, they have decreased their support for the open-source community, and they're pivoting to the enterprise market. So they're starting to transition to a proprietary cloud-based solution. And when they adopt this proprietary solution, it won't be good. So hopefully, in the future, they'll continue to offer an open-source version. That's what makes Zimbra trustworthy for users as an email host. Email is still essential for communities and businesses. Even if you are currently using instant messaging or any communications tool, you still need email. Maybe Zimbra can improve by implementing an architecture that mimics social media, like offering short messages instead of just email. Instant messaging can mean light messaging or group messaging, like a B2B chat or something like that.
We are simply a customer and an end-user. We don't have a business relationship with the organization. The log files need to be improved. It needs to show us more information. Right now, a lot of detail is lacking and that's not very helpful or insightful. The solution could use more integration with third-party tools. That would be very useful.

Zimbra must improve its solution to make it easy so that the users don't have to use webmail to connect to their accounts and log in to webmail every time. This is something that is lacking in Zimbra Collaboration. They should provide a better way to easily connect email applications on the desktop to the Zimbra server. They should also try to have more functionality for storage management, like Microsoft Exchange. Currently, the management of the email data must be done manually in Zimbra Collaboration, which we are finding very difficult. They should provide a way to save emails so that you can have more space on the server and storage. Because of the lack of this functionality, we are planning to migrate to Microsoft Exchange. Microsoft Exchange provides a better way to manage storage than Zimbra Collaboration. You cannot have a mail solution without storage management because emails will always increase. Zimbra Collaboration also needs tools for management. More back-office tools are required to manage the whole mailbox and space. You don't only manage emails but also the documents attached to the emails. Therefore, you require tools to select and decide what do you want to save or how do you want to free up space in your infrastructure.
Zimbra Collaboration provides administrators and their end users innovative features that solve the challenges faced by organizations using today's legacy communications infrastructure.

The tool should improve its multi-cloud feature.

It is good and competent, but you have to pay for video and group chat features.

Zimbra should provide a desktop client. Right now, we are using a web browser for accessing our emails. There should also be a desktop client.

There are security & performance issues which is one of the concerns of using an open-source product.
