Hello community,
I have a customer who has some of the disastrous effects from the Dec. 6 ransomware attack that hit Rackspace Hosted Exchange, but also has had some separate problems with the remaining email's DNS falling apart from a simple expired credit card on their domain registration.
Since then, GoDaddy (their domain registrar and web host) has had problems maintaining the stable DNS for two of their domains for their Rackspace Email. MX Records disappeared and had to be replaced on one domain where there was a brief expiration in the registration and a quick renewal, then the same thing happened on their other domain, where there was NO expiration! It's making me not trust GoDaddy.
I have Rackspace as well, but my domain is registered with Hover.com and I've had no problems with Rackspace at all. But I also didn't have any boxes with the hosted exchange.
The customer has decided to leave Rackspace after all this: They're asking me to do a comparison between GoDaddy and Google Workspace as email providers. I almost laughed off GoDaddy as a possible "business-class" email provider. Am I wrong? One of their staff sang its praises, big-time.
I would appreciate hearing your experience and feedback before I move this company of about 10 mailboxes to either Google Workspace or GoDaddy.
Thanks in advance,
Michael T.
