With Remedy 9.5 and BMC Innovation Suite, BMC seems to be attempting to address some important things its comprehensive Remedy suite lacked in the past - Attractive UI and opening up of its core AR System platform to Developer community for BMC Remedy based Application Development (somewhat like Android Apps Development that people do for that platform).
Will this now simplify and hence endear BMC Remedy to relatively smaller/mid level organizations, many of whom seem to be opting for lighter weight and seemingly attractive looking solutions from other providers (unlike large enterprises where traditionally BMC Remedy has found more takers due to its comprehensiveness and customization abilities)?
Even before Remedy 9.5 - It was also quite open for custom development. But from 9.5 version its completely java based and Development GUI is more friendly. In 9.5 for Custom Development it will use more of Java Script, and Angular Java Script.
Even for Small/Medium enterprise you can go with BMC Remedy . BMC remedy ITSM is now also available on Cloud. If you dont go with In premise BMC Remedy you can go with BMC Remedy ITSM On Demand (Cloud).
You can buy subscriptions based on your usage and you will get good price - Negotiate well.

Hi Rahul,
Thanks for your response. Technically there is nothing stopping any kind of organization from going to BMC Remedy ITSM. Having said that, in reality, smaller organizations and even medium ones are worried about the costs involved with BMC solutions even though it is not clear whether competition is any cheaper in longer run say 5 years down the line.
BMC upfront cost, somewhat jaded UI and also annual support costs sound bit more to people (on the ground it can be different - BMC does have comprehensive functionality that may not be present in so called cheap or free software and hence cost of building and maintaining all the extras may actually be same or even more - but no scientific studies are available to prove one way or the other in public domain - if you are aware, please point me towards it :-) )
I have used/implemented/maintained BMC Remedy for several customers (mostly Telecom domain) and also my team is handling Service Now for a particular customer in a Non Telecom sector.
Before 9.5 by the way, BMC didn't give any free cloud based instance to developers - ideally you are supposed to have licensed installation on premise. R-O-D option hardly allows customization in easy manner. So 9.5 is definitely much more open approach from BMC (something already done by S-Now). Hence I raised this topic.
