What is our primary use case?

I have used NetStorm primarily for load generation to do load and stress tests on the desktop and mobile platforms of Kohls.com. I was able to generate high load with NetStorm which helped identify the performance bottlenecks of the applications in the project phase itself. NetStorm script can be generated on any environment and can be replayed to run load test on different environments. It has great features like Runlogic, autocorrelation, and monitoring capability associated inside it.

How has it helped my organization?

NetStorm had made Kohls.com very stable in the ATG platform as well as a cloud platform that Kohls didn't have any issues during the major holiday season like Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. NetStorm had been used to test each component of our application stack to its capacity and made sure Kohls.com site is always performing fast for the customers. We do breakpoint tests of each component using NetStorm and then perform the integrated solution performance test by running load, stress, and endurance tests.

What is our primary use case?

  1. Checks application stability by generating load for a particular period of time. Environments: Real, QA, and dev for the Mosaic application.
  2. Designs scripts and scenario, as per requirements.
  3. Designs dynamic scripts.
  4. Capturing performance metrics related to timing and resources.
  5. Provides a performance report after a load test.
  6. Analysis can be done with the help of a page dump and a heap dump.
  7. Monitors the application in case of stress testing.

System is constantly observed in terms of its response time, resource usage, and reliability of functionality.

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case for this solution is to simulate a large user base for testing the world's highest traffic e-commerce websites, such as Macy's, Bloomingdales, etc.

We used this tool to generate twenty-four thousand users to create a real-world scenario. One can achieve a higher number of users, as per the application's requirement.

This tool helps to focus on real-time transactions that occur at a very high rate. It pre-identifies production issues so that they can be fixed before release. It also helps to minimize or even eliminate production breakdown, which ultimately affects the core business.
