We mainly use the 'jail' service.

In our company we develop javaEE software with deployment on a Tomcat server, then some nodejs services, relational databases such as Mysql and NoSQL such as Mongo, a GitLab environment like corporate code repository, corporate chat with rocketChat, and a Maven private repository, these are some that come to my mind.

Therefore, all these applications, thanks to 'jails', find an ideal environment where they can be installed and run.

Obviously, the primary purpose of a corporate NAS has also been put to use. The ability to create users and manage permissions with ACL is simple and fast to use.

The ICT department mainly benefits from using this product.

The ease of use of the 'jail', the management of backups, and copies to easily create test and pre-production scenarios have speeded up the development and distribution of business apps.

The handling of 'jails' with the replication feature meant that we could quickly create these test and pre-production environments.

The possibility of creating copies of the 'jails', to then carry out destructive tests, meant that we could quickly try out new features of that jail/service.

We are using FreeNAS as a network storage solution, which acts a repository for our data. We have a large amount of data being stored.

This solution supports our organization quite well. We are able to make the best use of VMware, very easily. 

The solution's most valuable features are container integration and storage capacity.

They should include clustering for the solution. Presently, we cannot sync the setup with hyper devices.

I'm just using it at home for my personal use, and I use it primarily for transferring large video files between temporarily storing large video files between computers. I also use it as a backup for my photographs and videos, and things like that, as well as some important documents.

There are some things where I tend to use Linux for some parts of the work and Windows for others. For example, in video editing, if I've recorded something on a DVD, I will normally use Linux to do the conversion of the DVD into a video file. I will then, normally, edit on Windows as I find that there's Pinnacle Studio, which is commercial and only available on Windows. 

What I tend to do is do the conversion on the Linux machine and I do it to the FreeNAS box. Then I will take it from the FreeNAS box onto the Windows machine and do the editing. And then put it back, probably, depending on what kind of video it is. I will either save it for archival purposes on FreeNAS, or I will move it over to one of my discs. For example, I've got a couple of other hard drives, network drives such as Western Digital. I'll put it on there so I can watch it on TV if I want to.

We mainly use FreeNAS for network-attached storage together with other solutions. 

FreeNAS is much simpler and easier to use than other solutions, but we don't have the complete range of features that come with the full version.

I use it primarily for backup and for transfer of very large files between Windows and Linux computers on my LAN.

The ease and reliability of transferring data is a big plus. I use this feature all the time now. Also, the reliability of the backup is reassuring.

We use it for our interim backup solution. We are using the latest version.

Its stability is the most valuable. It is reliable, and we don't have to worry too much about it.
