The initial setup is straightforward. We install the solution on a server and perform the configuration on remote devices. The server remains passive and does not send any requests to the remote devices. Instead, it receives events from the devices. To ensure that all logs, or specific logs, are sent, we need to configure the devices accordingly. Additionally, there are block servers in use.

The setup was straightforward, but we have had some problems with the integration of Windows. If you want to get logs from Windows to the Syslog server, it needs some additional services and setup, in a more complex way. This is for Windows only. If you get logs from Cisco switches, it is easy. If you manage one switch it will take maybe fourteen or fifteen minutes to set up the switch. However, Windows takes a long time.
