Available to users at a very low price but needs improvement in the firewall area
The product is very easy to install. When it comes to OmniSwitch 6200, OmniSwitch 6300, or OmniSwitch 6600, you can install it in an hour and a half quickly without any problem implementing the configuration, but it's not stable. When it comes to OmniSwitch 6400, OmniSwitch 6800, or OmniSwitch 9700, mostly the tools are limited in terms of the protocol. The switch cannot be managed to manage the power of our ethernet. For example, if we connect an iPhone to the switch, 740 watts will be required, but after six months, someone will discover that the port doesn't work anymore. Even if we configure it to push the power of a port, it will not work. It's not really, it's not, it's not work. At the same time, the problem was that the tool was very old, like Alcatel OmniPCX Enterprise PABX system. In Alcatel, there are only two types of architecture, the old and new ones. For example, on the outside, if there is a need for 24 ports to be implemented on telephony, then we implement less than that number to connect to the end of the phone, which is a very serious problem that is not resolved by the product.

Has supported robust enterprise deployments and management while pricing and market reach for advanced features need attention
I'm not sure what improvements could be made on the configuration scale since I'm not involved in complete configuration. Currently, it works effectively and they are incorporating AI adoption. Commercially and financially, the pricing is too high. Customers feel that Cisco Enterprise Routers will not offer the most competitive prices. If they can work on pricing, it would be easier for customers who are considering local products. In India, the government has implemented the Make in India initiative, and Cisco has established a manufacturing unit there. Regarding security products, they need to improve market reach, marketing, and training. While Cisco Enterprise Routers are user-friendly for network and wireless platforms, security product configuration and integration are considered complex compared to FortiGate, Check Point, Sophos, and Palo Alto. They have introduced solutions such as Cloud Defense Orchestrator and Firewall Manager (FMC), but the reach of Cisco security products in India needs improvement.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution's support is very great."
"This solution helps us with our inter-network constitution, and that works for us."
"They are the most stable, have the highest availability, and are the most reliable on the market."
"When you set up Cisco, you can forget you have a router. Everything just works."
"We achieve good performance in our data center."
"The performance is quite good."
"Cisco has one of the best products in terms of routing because of the protocols in which they provide."
"Its routers are versatile, reliable, and capable."
"The most valuable features of Cisco Enterprise Routers are the routing tables, and backup solutions available for local sites, and you can use it as a router gateway or simple IPS. They have simple firewalls, that we can use rules to filter traffic."

Cons

"The tool's VPN Firewall Brick did not work well since it doesn't have an interface with the cloud to upload the last signature, so it doesn't have this mechanism."
"When we buy new hardware, since we are in Latin America, we have a very long wait in terms of getting the devices."
"If Cisco can give you one license and allow you to use all the features, that would be the best thing. We are using it only as a voice gateway, and there are other options available, but we need to procure licenses to use those options. We can use it as a security device, or we can use it for connecting the LAN side, but for that, we need all those licenses. They can provide one license and allow you to use all the features. This is my recommendation for Cisco."
"Performance is one area that could be improved. The stability of the devices is great, but performance-wise we find that upgrading the memory or changing the device entirely is sometimes necessary."
"Sometimes, I find it hard to learn how some features of the router work. So, these are the issues that may arise when a user might not have knowledge about the product."
"When compared to PEPLink, Cisco Enterprise Routers are less flexible, and you cannot have more than one user."
"It would be good if Cisco Enterprise Routers could improve their integration with other vendors. For example the AGLP protocol is supported by Cisco and not by any other vendors."
"The solution is difficult to implement without a broad knowledge base."
"The automation capabilities need improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The tool's price is very low."
"There is no licensing cost."
"It's not probably the best solution if you have a very limited budget, as it can become very expensive to have robust equipment."
"The solution is costly for small businesses."
"The solution is expensive."
"If Cisco Enterprise Routers could be less expensive it would be better. In Turkey, clients prefer cheap solutions, but working solutions."
"The price of Cisco Enterprise Routers is good for the service that you get."
"This solution is expensive compared to competitors. There are additional costs if you want to have their support."
"Cisco policy is to limit the features and performance through their license."
