Allows automatic notifications for events and stable performance
Currently, it only supports triggering one job at a time. It would be helpful if it could handle multiple jobs or triggers simultaneously. What I mean is that currently, we can only perform one job at a time. For example, if I want to schedule a job at 12 o'clock, I can only schedule one job at that specific time. If I want to perform multiple jobs simultaneously, let's say sending a notification and starting a task at 12 o'clock, I can't do that with the current system. It only allows one job at a time. In future releases, I would like to see specifically multiple jobs at the same instance of time and multiple triggers simultaneously.

Offers the ability to batch metadata transfers between systems that support MQ as the communication method
We find it scalable for internal applications, but not so much for external integrations. It should support a wider range of protocols, not just a few specific ones. Many other products have broader protocol support, and IBM MQ is lagging in that area. IBM MQ needs to improve the UI for quicker logging. Users should also have a lot more control over logging, with a dashboard-like interface. That's something they should definitely work on.

"The MQ protocol is widely used across multiple applications and it's so simple for connectivity."
"It is easy to create a new queue, and the queue manager connecting to the remote queue works smoothly once the IP and port are included."
"The most valuable feature of IBM MQ is it has all the features necessary for contemporary messaging, not only for the financial industry but for any application."
"The most valuable feature is the interaction within the system."
"The solution can scale well."
"The most valuable features are RDQM and queue sharing."
"It offers better reliability and monitoring compared to other tools."
"We have implemented business to business transactions over MQ messaging. The guaranteed and once only delivery ensures business integrity."

Cons

"Currently, it only supports triggering one job at a time. It would be helpful if it could handle multiple jobs or triggers simultaneously. What I mean is that currently, we can only perform one job at a time."
"Amazon EventBridge doesn't have the feature of event replay."
"It would be good if the solution provided a feature to add multiple Cron expressions in one rule."
"It would be easy if we had an option to select multiple things to run the script from Monday to Friday."
"MQ needs instruments for connection with new modern queues like Kafka or RabbitMQ."
"The main issue we are having with the solution is due to the connection dropouts which have been going on for a long time now."
"The solution isn't free. There are other solutions, like RabbitMQ, which are open source and absolutely free to use. It's one reason we are moving away from IBM."
"the level of training as well as product marketing for this product are not that great. You rarely find a good training institute that provides training. Many of the architects in several organization are neither aware of the product nor interested in using it. IBM should provide good training on products like this."
"I wanted to upgrade Windows Server. It's not that easy to move."
"There are things within the actual product itself that can be improved, such as limitations on message length, size, etc. There is no standardized message length outside of IBM. Each of the implementations of the MQ series or support of that functionality varies between various suppliers, and because of that, it is very difficult to move from one to the other. We have IBM MQ, but we couldn't use it because the platform that was speaking to MQ didn't support the message length that was standard within IBM MQ. So, we had to use a different product to do exactly the same thing. So, perhaps, there could be more flexibility in the standards around the message queue. If we had been able to increase the message queue size within the IBM MQ implementation, we wouldn't have had to go over to another competing product because the system that was using MQ messaging required the ability to hold messages that were far larger than the IBM MQ standard. So, there could be a bit more flexibility in the structuring. It has as such nothing to do with the IBM implementation of MQ. It is just that the standard that is being put out onto the market doesn't actually stipulate those types of things."
"I don’t like legacy view of MQ."
"The installation of product upgrades and patches is very difficult. It requires the use of the IBM Installation Manager (IM)."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Amazon EventBridge's pricing is pretty cheap."
"Most of our customers are quite happy with the solution but they have an issue with the cost. They want to move to cheaper solutions."
"The pricing seems good according to the functionality that the solution provides."
"IBM MQ has a flexible license model based on the Processor Value Unit (PVU) and I recommend it."
"IBM's licensing model seems more reasonable than some competitors. They charge based on usage, which is good."
"Licensing for this software is on a yearly basis. The standard fee includes the maintenance and updates that are released periodically."
"We have a special contract with IBM MQ that give us a certain price."
"Our costs haven't increased but they also have not improved."
"There is real money involved here. As compared to RabbitMQ, IBM MQ is on the higher side in terms of cost."
