Stable hotel networking enhances return on investment with valuable modular features
There are issues with the distribution side of Aruba Switches. For instance, the distributor in our country cannot sell to neighboring countries, creating complications in project execution. Improving the distribution network across regions would be beneficial. Also, the SFP modules are significantly more expensive than industry peers, which affects cost-effectiveness.

Has reduced deployment time and enabled cost-effective internet access in the public sector
As an integrator, the best advantage of the product is its cost. MikroTik Cloud Router Switch stands out for its features, especially those available at that price point. I don't get involved too much in the setup of MikroTik Cloud Router Switch, so I appreciate the ease of setup. There are no specific features we use it for; its cost-effectiveness for internet access is what matters. One useful feature we utilize is Ethernet over IP. The positive impact of the solution on our company and clients is that it provides an attractive price point. It allows us to deliver cost-compliant solutions to our clients. Since we work in the public sector, cost is a very important attribute, and that's where it fits in our portfolio.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is the switches are reliable and replaced for free if anything goes wrong."
"It is a very good device for our company. It is stable and very scalable."
"We like the framework of fabric virtual switching."
"Licensing costs are competitive with other solutions on the market."
"They are easy to configure and integrate well with the Aruba ecosystem."
"Aruba access points have a good transfer rate."
"When it comes to basic L2 switching, we've found that Aruba switches are very user-friendly in terms of configuration and management. I haven't had the opportunity to utilize Aruba Central for managing the switches yet, so I can't speak to that aspect. However, overall, we've found the deployment process for Aruba switches to be very straightforward."
"This is a very stable product with good performance."
"Regarding security and visibility in monitoring, it is very good, the GUI is very intuitive, and it has many more features than those from major vendors."
"A valuable aspect is its user-friendly configuration, making it accessible even for individuals with basic technical knowledge."
"There are a lot of features to control permitting or stopping packets in the network."
"The interface management and the user access management is pretty good."
"The beauty of MikroTik is that you have flexibility with the routing parts."
"The most valuable feature is that it has better throughput than its competitors."
"The best aspect is that it remains affordable."
"MikroTik Cloud Router Switch stands out for its features, especially those available at that price point."

Cons

"The element of security always can be improved. If the solution continues to improve its security functionality, it will continue to be a great product."
"There is an issue with Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), but it is escaping me. We aren't using this feature yet, but it is something we are considering."
"The licensing model could be improved."
"I am forced to consider changing products because other solutions have a better dashboard and a user-friendly interface."
"We don't have visibility in Aruba Switches and we are thinking of switching to Fortiswitch because it has visibility."
"Aruba's operating system changes with every version."
"I would like to see a lower price on the device."
"I don't think there is much to improve. I have seen that Aruba releases the patches on time, and it keeps upgrading the firmware. I have configured this device on an active basis. I don't think I have any bad reviews about the device's overall performance. In the next release, I would like Aruba to incorporate wireless controllers and build them into the chassis. If we can integrate a wireless module, we can have a segment dedicated to wireless infrastructure."
"The RAM capacity offered by the product needs to be increased, as it is one area where the tool currently has some shortcomings."
"The initial setup is complex."
"Aspects such as zero trust, security, and management interface could be improved, which would be useful."
"The port isolation and VLAN need to be improved."
"The user interface could improve and they should allow a license for IBS."
"MikroTik needs to add some features like IPS, mail security, or antivirus, et cetera."
"The area for improvement is security. MikroTik is mostly used by medium and small businesses, so the security is not as robust as Cisco."
"Antispam and antivirus features should be included in the future."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Aruba Switches has a lifetime warranty on the solution and after five years the solution will be at its end of life."
"The pricing was still affordable compared to Cisco, which is usually less affordable for most companies. We are using the solution in a school, we need the price to be affordable."
"The price for Aruba is quite a bit cheaper than it is for similar products by Cisco."
"This is an affordable solution."
"I am paying for the hardware and Aruba Central licenses, but I would like a version of Aruba Central to come out with a light version with a few features turned off. Ubiquiti and other vendors have free tools. I believe they're looking at that, but it's not out yet. I hope they will release that to make it competitive because I'm using an enterprise-class switch for small businesses. We're looking for some of those capabilities, but not all of them."
"The price is reasonable."
"The license is annual. If you purchase a switch, you get a one-year free subscription."
"There is not a switch that I would give more than six out of ten for pricing because, over the last year, the prices have been increasing very high."
"The price of the solution is fair and there is a one-time license purchase only."
"I consider it to be a cost-effective solution."
"The licensing for MikroTik is great. It's easy to enter, especially for small businesses. Their model is great."
"MikroTik is really cheap compared to the competitors."
"The price is competitive."
"They came with the licensing when we purchased them."
"I believe the price of the tool is high, but it is okay for the services we get from it."
"In Pakistan, if you buy this cloud router, it's approximately $700 for the device."
