Centralizing database tables enhances workflow efficiency for ease of use
I was looking for some content as part of a comparison analysis. However, one of the pain points is that it is way too free-flowing. I have to skim through all the security pages to get to the crux of it. I was looking for a table that suggests which facets such services address with proofs of reference from professional conferences. The document is a 63-page read, making it very difficult to navigate without a summary. I was looking for a summary at the start, however, if I have to do it myself, I might as well integrate from AWS Docs and then Informative Exchange. The current document contains a lot of information, which is great, but there needs to be a summary indicating the story's essence. Unless there's a correction, it is not present in the document.

Integration solution proves maturity and drives productivity
There are many features we're using. We're starting to do AI now regarding integration with other platforms, focusing on creating integrations. A significant area for improvement is version control. Currently, you develop and cannot properly roll back to a previous version unless you create different versions. With proper version control, you could know which version to revert to and test other versions.

Lightweight tool, ensures that data is replicated across different systems and simplify complex tasks such as defining relationships
Qlik Compose is something that will automate user's overall data modernization. Here data modernization includes data modeling, ETL jobs, etc. But the advantage is users can automate the overall process of data engineering and data modeling through Qlik Compose. I think that's useful when users are able to manage 60% of the workload automated. That will be very useful. That's fantastic. Replicate does not have a great AI capability. AI capabilities are present in Qlik Sense. Qlik Replicate is a very light tool. It is only meant to capture data from the log files, get the data, and transfer it, read that table structure, create the table structure, and transfer the data whenever there is a change. So, it basically integrates with the kernel of the operating system. The way it works is that these replicate tools will integrate with the kernel of the operating system, and they will access the redo log files of the database. The redo log should have access to all the files of the structure of the schema, too. So, using that technique, they redo all the data structures, create a similar structure, and replicate the structure in the target schema, table, and database. After that is done, it will start tracing the instances that are happening. For example, if data is inserted into the table, then an insert is fired on the statement on the table. So, that particular insert is captured. And based on that insert statement, it will pull the SQL query and say, "Okay, there is an insert. I need to get that data." It will get the data from the redo log itself rather than going to a database. Then, it will just pass that transaction into the target system, where it will just insert the data. And this happens instantaneously, within a microsecond. So, if there is an insert, an update, or a delete, everything is transferred immediately. It is picked from the redo log because it comes to the redo log, and then the redo log sends it to Qlik Replicate and Replicate to the target system on which Replicate is installed.

Pros

"As the solution is on the cloud, we don't have to worry about the maintenance of software."
"The tools are very user-friendly."
"We have the ability to bring data for all tables of a database in one go, as long as the tables follow a particular naming convention."
"The most valuable feature of AWS Database Migration Service is it catches all the history changes, such as inset, observe, and delete. It tracks everything."
"The process is now simplified because there won't be maintenance. Usually we can take a snapshot of the number I need. We can automate the backup snapshots and we can restore it very quickly. We get many benefits from the application."
"The most valuable feature is its ability to get all the changes in our data and store that in an S3 bucket."
"AWS Database Migration Service is good for smaller workloads and provides compatibility."
"This efficient workflow has been particularly helpful."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its monitoring part to debug certain issues and find problems."
"It's very user-friendly and designed to be easy to use for the end user."
"It is a low-code and high-configuration platform, which is very valuable. Develop once and run anywhere is another useful feature. It also has connectors for more than 200 applications. It provides value for money. Our customers who have implemented this solution have a very high ROI."
"The integration landscape has become complex, and having a data strategy with unified data models would make integration easier for any platform, including Boomi."
"The best features are that it is a cloud-based and a multi-tenant tool."
"This solution has a user-friendly interface and very good documentation with solutions that helped us in working with the tool efficiently."
"The maturity of the product is significant."
"Boomi iPaaS has substantially reduced operational costs by providing out-of-the-box connectors that expedite the integration process with enterprise systems."
"The most useful functions of Qlik Replicate are the data manipulation to transformations."
"Support has been great."
"The system is basically user-driven, mostly operating as a local platform."
"It enables us to transform data at the latest stage rather than in ETL loads, so it's more ELT which is one of the advantages. It is also in near real-time, which brings significant advantage for our embedded analytics approach."
"The most valuable features of Qlik Replicate are its CDC performance and trigger functions. CDC feature is important to the financial industry."
"A valuable feature of Qlik Replicate is that you do not need ETL. It's easy to use—you choose two systems and it automatically replicates them. Even if there is no CDC available, if you insert it and update it, and there is nothing to find out, then you can use Qlik Replicate. It's a good product."
"From a technical perspective, this is an excellent product."
"Qlik Replicate's ability to correctly map and replicate data, especially when converting complex fields like packed decimal fields into integers, stands out."

Cons

"The live duplication has a delay of two minutes, which can be an issue."
"There is no connectivity to the source database or the target database."
"Support could be more expedient. Right now I am waiting on support for an extension."
"If they had some sort of functionality where, at a specific point in time, if I want to start a new job, it should automatically pick up from where it has been left rather than having people worry about the exact job number and the timing."
"What needs improvement in AWS Database Migration Service is that it lacks a log file validation feature. If the solution could provide more details about a particular transaction, that would be helpful. The stability of AWS Database Migration Service for online CDC records also needs to be improved."
"When working with AWS GovCloud, we often did not get an answer in time because AWS seemed more focused on the commercial side."
"There are a set of complexities and challenges when a user wants to integrate AWS products with Microsoft products."
"The solution’s scalability and performance could be improved."
"The high price of the solution is an area of concern where improvements are required."
"They should create a custom connector option. With this, they could improve where the user can create the connector, based on their usage."
"They are lacking in some streaming features, and messaging features from a listener's point of view."
"They need to introduce more configurable functions to remove scripting or coding. Scripting should be minimized. It should have exhaustive functions. Currently, it lacks in this aspect."
"We encountered stability issues occasionally, one to two times a year."
"There are more mature (dedicated) API management and master data management (MDM) solutions available in the market."
"The API can use some work to come up to speed with the competition but Dell has plans and is working on resolving that."
"Boomi AtomSphere Integration should scale up on the migration area."
"It's not possible to replicate the QVC files in data analytics."
"When you remote into it the Qlik Replicate UI a lot of times it just freezes. We set up the EC2, to allow them to go to the server and click on the Replicate icon, it just opens up and just sits there. At that point, we have to go into the EC2 and then reboot the server. This should be fixed, it is frustrating."
"This product could be improved by providing more insight regarding errors. One of our customers that uses Qlik Replicate has had an issue. We tried to debug it, but we could not trace the error message. The infrastructure site should give us more insight about errors. Qlik Replicate is not a business solution, it's an IT solution. The reporting tools and bug site should be improved."
"Support for this product is not great. It needs to be improved."
"I am not very comfortable with Qlik support as it often goes in loops. Even priority tickets, which should be resolved in minutes, can take days."
"We'd like better connectivity."
"The solution's flexibility to work with APIs should also be improved since it is very weak in working with APIs."
"It would be better if the solution’s pricing were more obvious."

"It is an expensive platform."
"They do not charge by the number of people using the software (client-server model), but rather they charge based on the number of connections used. This makes it very cost effective."
"There could be an easy-to-understand licensing model."
"Unlike Azure, where you pay based on consumption, Qlik Replicate seems to charge per endpoint."
