Sends useful alerts and enables to automate tasks by creating rules
We use Managed Rules mostly ALB is integrated with WAF. When ALB spikes up, we know there’s something wrong. Usually, bots attack the applications. Rule groups are valuable. We use it for DDoS. We do customizations with the help of Managed Rules in AWS. We use AWS WAF’s API to automate security…

Affordable, provides advanced features, and protects applications
The solution is used for application security. We had many applications that external users accessed. We used it in the production environment. We have suspended it due to support issues. We used multi-layer security The product protected us from SQL injection. Citrix is good for application…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It's simple, easy to use."
"Stable and scalable web application firewall. Setting it up is straightforward."
"The most valuable features of AWS WAF are its cloud-native and on-demand."
"The customized billing is the most valuable feature."
"Its best feature is that it is on the cloud and does not require local hardware resources."
"The most valuable feature of AWS WAF is its highly configurable rules system."
"AWS has flexibility in terms of WAF rules."
"We integrate AWS WAF with several platforms within cloud hosting and other security solutions and provisions in our business. Regarding AI, it's been around for about 20 years, so it's not new. It's just a new buzzword. I've been in security for 30 years and remember using AI when I started 25-30 years ago. We have multiple forms of AI within our business."
"The solution's technical support is good."
"The work balancing applications are the most valuable feature."
"Citrix Web App API Protection allows you to enable a blocking mode"
"When our primary link goes down I can still get to my Cisco devices and the NetScaler devices on-prem because of the SDN solution. If the internet connection at one of the branches goes down, we can still route them, they still get internet based on the SDN solution through one of the other sites. They can carry on working."
"Citrix is good for application protection."
"The web application firewall which protects our services on the internet, and then of course services like our ability to provide high availability for the services we are offering are the most valuable features."
"The stability is good. If there is a problem, the load will be shifted to other sites automatically, which has been a good experience for us."
"The solution can be configured very granularly and has good control over security."

Cons

"The product must provide more features."
"The product could be improved by expanding the weightage units of rules."
"I would like to see the addition of more advanced rate-limiting features in the next release. It would be beneficial to extend rate limiting beyond just web servers to the main node level."
"For now, there is no feature to protect against attack of the bad bots"
"They should make the implementation process faster."
"The technical support does not respond to bugs in the coding of the product."
"It would be better if AWS WAF were more flexible. For example, if you take a third-party WAF like Imperva, they maintain the rule set, and these rule sets are constantly updated. They push security insights or new rules into the firewall. However, when it comes to AWS, it has a standard set of rules, and only those sets of rules in the application firewalls trigger alerts, block, and manage traffic. Alternative WAFs have something like bot mitigation or bot control within the WAF, but you don't have such things in AWS WAF. I will say there could have been better bot mitigation plans, there could have been better dealer mitigation plans, and there could be better-updated rule sets for every security issue which arises in web applications. In the next release, I would like to see if AWS WAF could take on DDoS protection within itself rather than being in a stand-alone solution like AWS Shield. I would also like a solution like a bot mitigation."
"It will be helpful if the product recommends rules that we can implement."
"The user interface could be more friendly. Some wizards and other documentation for administrators, as well as some use cases, helps us to understand the solution."
"The solution's pricing is a big concern and should be improved."
"I would like to enhance the solution's bot protection features."
"The product could be improved by making it easier to use and easier to implement."
"The setup was not simple."
"I am not an expert in this solution, but simplicity and user-friendly interfaces are crucial for me. I would appreciate advice from Citrix, particularly in the form of an interactive guide for API protection. It would be helpful if they could provide specific points and recommendations for cybersecurity, indicating areas that need attention or improvement. I find such interactive guidance valuable."
"Security could be improved because then I can get rid of my Cisco firewalls. If they improve the security then I could run my security, my proxy, my firewalling and my SDN solution on one device instead of having to have multiple devices."
"The configuration for its web application firewall is complicated."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product’s pricing is reasonable."
"You need an additional AWS subscription for this product if you are buying a managed tool."
"I rate the product price a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is high price, and ten is low price"
"The price is average."
"It has a variable pricing scheme."
"For our infrastructure, we probably pay around $16,000 per month for AWS WAF. Because alternative WAF solutions provide even more features, I think the AWS WAF is a bit pricey"
"The solution is affordable."
"Its price is fair. There is a very fair amount that they charge. It has a pay-as-you-go model, so it pretty much depends on how much a user uses it. As per the cloud norms, the more you use, the more you pay. I would rate it a five out of ten in terms of pricing."
"I rate the pricing an eight out of ten since it is expensive."
"Citrix Web App and API Protection are in the middle when we talk about pricing and licensing"
"The tool is cheap."
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing an eight or nine out of ten."
"The solution is expensive compared to one of its competitors."
"For partners, NetScaler is not as expensive price-wise versus F5."
"The pricing for Citrix Web App and API Protection is unreasonable. I don't know the exact price, but I heard it's tens of thousands and it's a bit too much for the small country I live in."
"The solution's pricing is very high compared to its competitors."
