Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"BiZZdesign HoriZZon is scalable, and I'd give it an eight out of ten for scalability. Our customers are enterprise level companies, but the solution is suitable for small and mid-sized companies as well.""I like the flexibility of the modeling part for standards like ArchiMate and, at the same time, BPMN. It allows us to connect elements from different areas and to have a single repository and a single source of truth. It gives us one place to do analysis throughout the organization.""t's a good tool. My colleagues that are making use of it for application, business processes, or data modeling, are very satisfied with it. They find it easy to use. The graphical representation is simple but therefore efficient, so I know that they are planning a very good commencement on the use of these tools.""The feature I find most valuable is that the start times and loading times are short. It takes only a few seconds to load the repository and whenever I want to open diagrams, they are there almost immediately.""It is very easy to use. I can just click on an application component and find out if we are using this particular component. This provides us flexibility.""The powerful editing function in teamwork project-based, common or shared modeling, based on a powerful repository and knowledge sharing in a portal are the most valuable features. These are the most important features for me. I can add the integration of individual modeling notations like Archimate plus BPMN and DMN, and so on. We travel from one location to another and the tool allows us to keep track.""The initial setup of this solution was very straightforward.""The enterprise studio where the modelling happens is valuable."

"The features I find most valuable is the ability to create a document and then put it into a OneCare artifact.""Customizable and tailored to the environment. Several template frameworks are provided.""The profiles and ready-made templates are an extremely helpful feature. This is one of the biggest features that I find very useful in Sparx.""It's easy to search within the solution.""Modeling is a part of my work, and it has a lot of standard modeling languages. It is quite wide, and a lot is possible in it. We are not programming it ourselves, but if you are into programming and developing software yourself, you can go further and do a lot with Sparx. You can work from the framework and go into the details. With this solution, you get a lot of value at a low cost. It is also quite intuitive in terms of use. I like the use of it.""It's a very practical solution. You don't need to do an advanced course to start using this tool.""I like Sparx's BPM features and the way it lets you create the diagram.""For the most part, we find that it is remarkable how inexpensive it is."

Cons
"We tested it, and we had support from BiZZdesign, including patches, but it just didn't do what we wanted.""Scalability is a bit of a problem for BiZZdesign. There is always a possibility it will failover.""The users of BiZZdesign should be able to enter their data or make modeling changes via HoriZZon.""The automatic data collection and interface need improvement.""The repository of duplicate objects is bad.""It lacks capabilities with regard to infrastructure modeling.""One area where BiZZdesign HoriZZon could use some improvement is in its REST APIs.""This tool is something of a beast - it takes a long time to learn, and it isn't possible for casual users and most architects. Unless a person spends 500 or 1,000 hours on the tool or does very concentrated sessions using all its functionalities, it's very difficult to master."

More BiZZdesign HoriZZon Cons →

"The solution needs to offer better support for the mobile-based system. Right now, it's not working.""The elements of the modeling sets can have better customization and visual representation. It would be great to have a mobile version.""It would be nice to have it supported on the Linux operating system.""The Business Process Modeling or BPM feature can be improved to make it more interactive and user friendly because it is a tool for technical people. My current use is only for business process modeling notation and putting in the icons etc. You need to take them in as a class, which makes things very complex. Because of this complexity, it is not an easy-to-handle solution. Enterprise Architect is not very good for mockups. We cannot create user screens and other similar kinds of stuff, which is bad. For these things, we prefer to use Axure RP and other similar solutions. They should either remove this feature from this product or provide some kind of connectivity with Axure RP so that people can do better mockups of screens and import them. They need to augment and strengthen the BPM feature, which is the main feature. They need to put in some elements like artificial intelligence and augmented reality. They should look into such features because these things are coming up.""Sparx can be a bit slow. If you are trying to design software architecture, sometimes we run into issues and need to refresh.""The database management area was not usable.""It can be improved in the area of shared documentation. The idea is that the architecture tool can call back to an enterprise asset, pull that information, and link that as a sub-artifact.""The presentation graphics need to be improved in future builds."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "[The] Orbus... pricing model was based on every single functionality having a price. The pricing was comparable but if we wanted to scale, it would have ended up being a lot more expensive. BiZZdesign gave us one price with all of the functionality, and we could scale as much as we needed."
  • "I haven't found any issues with the scalability and licensing parts that are access-related."
  • "First and foremost within the scope of improvement for the solution would be the cost. It's very costly..."
  • "The pricing model is slightly on the high side and could be more competitive for long-term partnerships."
  • "The price is reasonable."
  • "In terms of this particular product usage, my clients currently only use per-user licenses."
