It is a very stable and scalable product without downtime.
It's a one-way process which results in less back and forth work I find the flexibility most valuable. In addition, being able to connect and integrate with various systems, as well as being solution oriented is valuable to me, as well. The areas that would benefit in improvement would be the…

A reasonably priced tool that is helpful for the automation of business processes
Our customers have experienced a lot of benefits. So now, they have automation in place to implement internally or externally in their environment. This has enhanced the customer experience and made it good. The product has many BPM tools, which help eliminate bits of work. Also, information is now available and accessible according to their security or role in their businesses. They can now increase their process in the Middle East. They also do manual work using the tool. The tool also helps them ensure that they are able to follow policy compliance. In short, the tool helps in a digital transformation, and so IBM BPM increases the efficiency of our clients. All of the aforementioned reasons increase the revenue of our clients and our company.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It is very stable. There is no downtime."
"The new reporting and the new dashboard features are really good."
"Its dashboard is easy to use and very good. It allows us to customize."
"IBM BPM's best features include document sharing, management document creation, widget and barcode creation, and integration."
"IBM BPM's most valuable features are its speed in implementing and providing any changes."
"One of the reasons for adopting this solution ten years ago was its ease of use. It had a lot of off-the-shelf functionality, and it did not need to be developed specifically for the project that we were implementing. That was the main reason for adopting it in the beginning."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to customize your rules and put them inside the tool."
"The solution is more customizable than IBM FileNet."
"Our customers use the solution as a workflow platform to manage their processes."
"I would say that I like its GUI designer the best."

Cons

"The setup and configuration is complex."
"The design of the interface, in general, could be improved. It could be a bit more user-friendly."
"Performance in the development environment space. I know that they have been taking it off the desktop version and putting on the web, and it is not 100% yet."
"There is a lot of room for improvement of the dashboards."
"I have an interest around the robotic piece, and integrating that with the processes. I think that is certainly a good direction to be going."
"One of the things that we are looking at is cognitive learning. IBM has another product called IBM RPA, I think, which is doing some of that stuff. We would like to see more of that with respect to cognitive learning and AI put back into the process engine to help."
"I would like it more documentation during the design phase."
"The coaches and the user interface are the areas that can be improved a lot. It is good in terms of data processing, but the UI, scripting, and coaches are not very user-friendly and developer-friendly. Performance is always an issue. The scripting and the pattern that it uses are very tedious for new developers to understand, and it takes time to master it in depth. When comparing IBM BPM with IBM APN, a lot of things are provided out of the box in IBM APN. We don't have to write code or a Java connector to make a functionality work. It would be very helpful and time-saving for developers if IBM BPM is improved in this area to provide many functionalities or drag-and-drop options so that the developers don't have to write the code."
"The business would like to use the product with a lot less IT and equipment involvement."
"The engine itself tends to accumulate a lot of data that needs to be cleaned up, and that's the kind of thing that keeps it from, in some scenarios, scaling as much as it needs to. And then, when you're building solutions, if you're not careful to keep the screens from being associated with too much data, if you're going to just do things the way that a lot of people would just assume that they can do, without having experience of having made those mistakes before, it will accumulate a lot of data, and that will cause it to perform very badly."

"The pricing is quite high, I would rate it two out of five."
"The pricing is very high."
"Price wise, IBM BPM is cheaper than other similar solutions and has excellent pricing."

"We have a yearly licensing model. It is not expensive. There are no addition costs to the standard license."
