Offers reliability and helps with the virtualization part
The product integrates with our company's existing IT infrastructure, especially when it comes to MicroK8s and other on-premises servers. The tool also helps with the virtualization in the ecosystem of our company, where there are other tools from HPE. Performance and network optimization are some of the beneficial areas in terms of server management. Speaking about how the remote management ability of the product impacted our company's IT operations, I would say that my organization has dealt with areas like RDP, DDI, and DMC, depending on the requirements of our final customers. In my experience, the product has contributed four hours in terms of reliability and to ensure the uptime of our servers. When it comes to the day-to-day use of HPE System Management's interface, I would say that it connects with some of the best tools and Hyper-V console with the help of Microsoft. I recommended the solution to those who plan to use it. I rate the overall product an eight out of ten.

Helps reduce response time but has room to improve customization complexity
We are not working on simple standalone solutions like Kaspersky DDoS Protection or Hybrid Cloud Security. Once you understand Zabbix, then it is easy to customize those web pages and graphs for our customer use. It is fully automated to your requirements. Zabbix is working fine with no issues, and I am satisfied with it. We have combined Zabbix and SolarWinds. The integration works fine, and it is easy to integrate Zabbix with the IT environment. We were trying to purchase MDR (Managed Detection and Response), but we are not working on that. I don't have real experience with MDR. We are using Falcon software for that. We are working with Falcon Complete, not with Sandbox. We are not using Kaspersky for business or cloud protection. For that, we are using Zabbix CrowdStrike Falcon Complete solution. I have given this review an overall rating of 8.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This is a good product and I recommend it."
"The managing and monitoring are the solution's most valuable features. They are something I find quite helpful in my work."
"This solution has improved our organization through the provision of efficient resource utilization and capacity planning."
"The interface is in continuous development and improves version by version."
"The product's initial setup phase is easy with the help of the framework consisting of Microsoft Azure."
"I think it's stable, scalable, and flexible."
"We use Zabbix to monitor our organization's IT infrastructure and workstations. We don't use Microsoft Intune since it's expensive. The tool's real-time alerting system has proved crucial for us, particularly when a new device joins a network that is not one of our own devices. It notifies us about the presence of this new device, allowing us to investigate further. Additionally, it alerts us about disk usage, memory usage, and the software installed on the machine."
"We are able to monitor our virtual infrastructure, virtual machines, windows servers, databases, and the network using a simple network management protocol. We are able to pull almost all the metrics that we want, receive notifications, and have them integrate with telegrams for certain devices that are critical, such as UPSs."
"I like being able to use proxy servers for different locations. The agents are pretty cool. They're easy to roll out. The standard out-of-the-box templates are also pretty easy to use. The integration with other learning products is also good. I have, in the past, used Slack, but we've integrated it with Microsoft Teams. We also use it for SMS with a service called Redcoat. It is very flexible. It does what I need it to do, and my manager is very happy because it doesn't cost anything. We are nearing 4,000 hosts inside Zabbix, and we've got another 6,000 access points to add to it. We've thrown everything at it, and it has managed to keep going. I am very impressed with the tool, and I'd shake their hand very hard if I got to say the compliments to the Zabbix team. They keep improving it and doing refreshes, which is one good thing about it. There is also online information as well as books that you can purchase if you're willing to read enough. There is a lot to pick up, but it is a pretty complete solution."
"The most valuable feature is service assurance."
"It has good graphs of what is going on within the operating system."
"It's the best solution. Great. I would rate the overall solution ten out of ten."
"We value the auto-host discovery, template import, bulk import/export features. Newer versions also add nice features, such as multi-IP per host."
"It not only provides the preconfigured item monitoring feature, but it is also easy to configure custom items."

Cons

"I think that support integration could be improved."
"The return on investment report is too difficult to understand."
"The product should increase the processing capacity and allow speedy deployment, as both of them are areas with certain shortcomings where improvements are required."
"If the solution could provide better integration to make it easier to manage everything on different servers, that would be helpful. Whatever servers a company has, be it IBM, Dell, etc., if the System Management could be a platform that links all of them together, it would make management across different server types easier."
"Our customers would like to see the price lowered."
"The quality of service and support for this solution needs to be improved."
"The documentation could be improved."
"It could be more stable."
"The APM monitoring has room for improvement, although I hear that the new 5.2 version has some improvements in that area, and I'd like to give that a go. I would like to see a few more templates out there for different styles of monitoring. I use the Grafana interface for reporting. I would also like it to have an out-of-the-box ability to email reports. You can create reports, but to be able to email those reports would be really helpful. I've got users who are not interested in logging in and generating a report. They want it all pre-canned and sent to an email address. It would also be really handy if we could pin certain reports up onto platforms such as Teams or SharePoint. A GUI for the proxy server would be cool to have for debugging purposes and for the support teams to have a look at, but I don't know whether that's really feasible to do. I get enough from the log files themselves."
"The performance reporting could be improved."
"The only improvement I would suggest, revolves around its AI and ML capabilities."
"Having a more customizable interface and dashboard would be an improvement."
"To improve Zabbix, adding more features to support the monitoring of modern workloads like containers would be beneficial."
"The potential and customization is a little difficult because you have to learn scripts."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of this product is fair."
"My company has invested 30,00,000 USD in the product."
"The license was included when we purchased the server."
"The support is yearly-based and the license is permanent."
"Zabbix is open-source so if one wishes to implement it in-house, they must have qualified professionals to set up and optimize databases, Linux/Unix OS, PHP, Apache, and depending on what is monitored, a full-stack network and systems administrator may be needed."
"We use the open-source version of Zabbix."
"It is reasonable."
"We were searching for an open source solution and Zabbix fit the bill because it is free and open source under the GPL license."
"It's free software released under the GNU/GPL license."
"I use the tool's free version."
"Its licensing is fair. It seems to be much cheaper than others."
"For pricing, it's free. We don't pay anything for it. They open-source the code, and people pay for support."
