Offers simplified management and automated recovery process, which reduces the need for manual intervention during a disaster
Automated recovery is one good feature, SRM also offers simplified management. It has a centralized interface for configuring, testing, and executing disaster recovery plans across multiple sites. This means management from a single point, even for many sites. Recovery plans can be different for customers. So, another important feature is the policy-based protection within SRM. Recovery plans can be customized based on business requirements, including Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO). These objectives might differ between industries – healthcare might need a more aggressive RPO, for instance. Additionally, SRM offers failback capabilities and reporting features for compliance.

Pricing and Cost Advice

"When it comes to pricing for a backup solution for data centers, you do not care about the price. We just care about the service and want it to be reliable. In terms of subscription, it really makes sense. When you want to use all the functionalities it is good that Veeam did the subscription-based model, this is what gives it the most strength on the price."
"The price is great. It's software related, and I know that might be a good thing because it's a cheap solution to buy and we have been looking for a program for backup and they fit the bill."
"For what it does, the price is acceptable."
"The license subscription could be more straightforward."
"It is not expensive and I would rate it five out of ten."
"Veeam Backup Replication has a lot of free features. We have a mixture of the paid versions as well as the community version. They are really helpful to us."
"The price is a bit high."
"I find the pricing to be okay."
"VMware SRM is an expensive solution, and users need to pay extra costs in addition to the standard licensing fees."
"After Broadcom acquired the solution, the licensing cost increased drastically"
"The licensing costs for the product are perpetual in nature. A person needs to buy the license only once there is a need to buy support on a yearly basis. The licensing cost for VMware SRM is expensive."
"It is about $3,000 a year for the 25 pack. The package gives you the ability to protect up to 25 virtual machines."
"We pay a yearly licensing fee for VMware SRM, which is not very expensive."
"I would say VMware Cloud Disaster Recovery is very expensive in comparison with other available virtualization solutions."
"The pricing is good."
"It is an expensive platform. I rate the pricing an eight out of ten."
