Goes beyond anti-malware and anti-spam but difficulty in achieving optimal performance due to configuration
Pros and Cons
  • "First of all, I like that it's perfect against malware threats and behavior analysis along with signature analysis. That's the key point for me."
  • "I might have the best product in the market. But if it's not properly configured, then I'm losing many of these features. I'm not getting the most out of them. And this is actually one of the biggest challenges that we're facing."

What is our primary use case?

Use cases really depend on how you configure it. It's an endpoint security solution that goes beyond anti-malware and anti-spam. It also includes network protection, vulnerability audits, and other features you might need.

What is most valuable?

First of all, I like that it's perfect against malware threats and behavior analysis along with signature analysis. That's the key point for me. Another thing I value is the alarm support with EDR active. It helps me root cause issues and detect suspicious behavior.

What needs improvement?

Most companies aren't familiar with Kaspersky's MDR offering. Everyone's talking about XDR and MDR solutions now, and Kaspersky mainly offers EDR. I believe they should consider more advanced solutions, especially for ransomware protection and similar critical threats. They might have these solutions, but our provider might not be giving us proper insights. Again, it's possible these features exist, but our reseller isn't making us aware.

In future releases, I would like to see a few things. First, I'd like a centralized view for managing security across a large organization with multiple offices.

Second, some built-in solutions can alert IT about suspicious behavior before any damage occurs, like applications sending unusual emails or data alerts.

I want to add that performance needs to be considered. Security doesn't require ongoing configuration. My crucial point is whether the solution, with my configuration from six months ago, still provides adequate security. In terms of support,  I was thinking of a managed security service provider because security isn't our primary business, and we lack the necessary skills to manage it ourselves. We rely on others to do it.

We lack the skills and need a third-party provider with expertise. So, we have a third party that can provide managed security services and keep me updated on the latest products and practices. I just need to be confident we're using the best available solution.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for more than five years now. I've experience with this product but with an advanced license.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable solution. But there are better solutions, or perhaps upgrades might be better.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a highly scalable solution. We are an enterprise business, so we have around a thousand end users.

How are customer service and support?

I receive support from our reseller at Kaspersky.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

I would rate my experience with the initial setup a seven out of ten, with one being difficult and ten being easy.

What about the implementation team?

The deployment process needs an expert, so it takes hours to configure all the features properly. It's not a quick process.

What other advice do I have?

Overall, I would rate the solution a seven out of ten because, again, I might have the best product in the market. But if it's not properly configured, then I'm losing many of these features. I'm not getting the most out of them. And this is actually one of the biggest challenges that we're facing.

Helps clients with adequate protection using the latest technologies but have lesser integrations
Pros and Cons
  • "It integrates well across different operating systems, including mobile devices like Android and Mac. It effectively manages firewalls, particularly with Fortinet, enhancing overall security posture."
  • "The solution could provide more integration."

What is our primary use case?

Kaspersky is a good product. It helps clients with adequate protection using the latest technologies, such as AI, Azure, and zero-day attack protection.

How has it helped my organization?

The number of incidents has been completely reduced. We haven't reported any incidents since we deployed the product. Additionally, on the dashboard, you can easily see all the attempts that have been detected. On the reporting side, it operates smoothly and effectively, ensuring security.

What is most valuable?

Kaspersky has EDR capabilities and extended EDR features, which help in mitigating legacy issues. Additionally, the robust management tools enable effective vulnerability patching and application deployment.

It integrates well across different operating systems, including mobile devices like Android and Mac. It effectively manages firewalls, particularly with Fortinet, enhancing overall security posture.

What needs improvement?

The solution could provide more integration.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business since 2019.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We're looking for a comprehensive solution that integrates multiple services, such as malware protection and firewall capabilities, similar to what the Sophos platform offers. Our technicians have indicated that Sophos provides superior integration and functionality compared to Kaspersky.

What other advice do I have?

The management console is user-friendly. We haven't encountered any problems with it. Our technicians can easily navigate the dashboard and perform any necessary tasks.

Administrators can easily monitor detections and remediations, saving considerable time on the administrator's side. Additionally, when threats are detected, the program promptly reports to the administrator, allowing for immediate action or manual intervention to mitigate potential risks.

Kaspersky does not exclusively focus on network security solutions. Instead, it primarily concentrates on securing endpoints. Adding additional components could enhance its effectiveness in protecting your environment.

Kaspersky primarily focuses on endpoint protection and includes features like application controls, unlike solutions such as Sophos, which integrate seamlessly with EDR and extend to network security. Kaspersky's offering remains focused on endpoint security without the same level of integration into broader network security frameworks.

The solution includes various components that can be tailored to meet specific needs. It provides comprehensive endpoint security, including email security, as a separate module. You can purchase and configure the necessary components without buying unnecessary add-ons like sandboxing separately.

Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

A customer-friendly solution that provides 24/7 support and EDR
Pros and Cons
  • "The failure rate is very low."
  • "The solution could provide more frequent updates."

What is our primary use case?

The solution provides 24/7 support and EDR. The failure rate is very low. It is customer-friendly.

What needs improvement?

The solution could provide more frequent updates.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business for over 2 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product is stable.

I rate the solution’s stability a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution’s scalability is great.

4-5 customers are using this solution.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used CloudStrike. CloudStrike and Kaspersky have the same features but different use cases depending on the customers.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward, even with a catalog of fifty or ten thousand per client. It's on par with similar solutions in terms of complexity. It takes around three months to deploy completely, depending on the customers.

What was our ROI?

The solution is worth considering because you don't need one person solely for administration. You can set up Kaspersky for trusted sites or Active Directory, which replaces a full-time administrator. Handling it is easy, but it might seem complex for a regular administrator dealing with customer support and other tasks.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is good. It has a monthly subscription.

I rate the product’s pricing a six out of ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive.

What other advice do I have?

I rate Kaspersky’s ease of management a ten out of ten.

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business offers a distinct advantage regarding reports and data protection. For instance, we opt for active tools if a customer uses multiple security vendors. Transitioning to Kaspersky might require removing or replacing existing solutions, which can be costly.

Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Bad technical support, but used for endpoint protection, virus detection, and centralized administration
Pros and Cons
  • "We use the solution for endpoint protection, virus detection, and centralized administration."
  • "We are having some troubles because some American companies we work with don't want to work with Kaspersky."

What is most valuable?

We use the solution for endpoint protection, virus detection, and centralized administration.

What needs improvement?

We are having some troubles because some American companies we work with don't want to work with Kaspersky.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business for four years.

How are customer service and support?

I have heard from my people that the technical support for the solution is not that good.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

The solution's initial setup for the endpoints is pretty easy, but it's pretty complicated for the central solution. Deploying all the agents is pretty complicated. I rate the solution’s initial setup a five out of ten.

What about the implementation team?

The solution's deployment took a long time. It took three months for the solution's complete deployment. A security engineer, an infrastructure engineer, and five to six technicians were involved in the solution's deployment.

What other advice do I have?

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business helps protect our remote workforce. Some of our users connect to the central office via VPN, and all of them are using Kaspersky. We are currently deploying some rules via Kaspersky on the console. It is getting a little harder for me to perform IT security management tasks. Nowadays, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business is not that good for malware protection.

The solution's application control feature was pretty good at managing software on our network. We were using it constantly, but it's becoming a little challenging. It's pretty difficult to do because you need a very specific engineer and a lot of tweaking of the firewall rules.

Because of Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business, we are PCI and ISO 27001 compliant. We are having some troubles because some American companies we work with don't want to work with Kaspersky. Five security engineers and technicians were involved in the solution's maintenance.

I would not recommend the solution to other users because some American and European companies don't work with to work with it.

Overall, I rate the solution a four out of ten.

Used for endpoint computing and protection from virus attacks
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable features of the solution are the daily updates and protection from virus attacks."
  • "Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business doesn't have a built-in DLP (data loss prevention) solution."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution for our endpoint computing. We install the solution on the laptops and desktops of the employees within the organization.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of the solution are the daily updates and protection from virus attacks.

What needs improvement?

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business doesn't have a built-in DLP (data loss prevention) solution.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business for the last 13 months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business is a stable solution. We are always connected with Kaspersky and updating our server.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business is a scalable solution. The solution has covered 100 endpoints, and it is deployed across five locations.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have previously used McAfee and Apex One.

How was the initial setup?

The solution's initial setup is very simple and has no complexity.

What about the implementation team?

To deploy the solution, we get the demo, get quotations, and get it approved by the management. There was only one distributor of premium security in Pakistan, and their team deployed the solution on our premises. The solution was deployed within one week in our organization.

What was our ROI?

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business provides value for money.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution's pricing is reasonable.

What other advice do I have?

We have Kaspersky-certified professionals within my team. There are two certified professionals, one is Sophos certified, two are VMware certified, and one is Veeam certified. We have multiple team members. We have certified employees in the IT team under my supervision.

We are planning to implement SIEMS, SOC, and threat intelligence and outsource these three services to manage service providers. We currently have a 100 Kaspersky license, and we are satisfied with the performance of the solution. We update the pattern twice daily, and we have found no issues.

We have already blocked the major USPs. We are using licensed Microsoft software, and we have implemented anti-spammer firewalls. It's a controlled environment. It is quite difficult, and we are conducting assessment, penetration testing, and IT risk assessment on a yearly basis. So, our environment is a very controlled environment.

Our in-house team members and support staff are trained to maintain the solution and take care of issues. I would recommend the solution to other users.

Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

Reliable and used to remediate detected vulnerabilities
Pros and Cons
  • "Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business is a very good and reliable product."
  • "It would be good if Kaspersky could lower the solution's price so people could afford to buy the licenses."

What is our primary use case?

I used the solution to manage the server and push the policies that we had on the computer through the network agent. I also used the tool to remediate from the server the vulnerabilities that were detected. If they were more complicated, I would just go to the computer and try to fix them.

What is most valuable?

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business is a very good and reliable product. The only reason why we left it was because of the EDR. It is a useful tool for software deployment. The computer used to connect to the server with the public IP, so it was very useful. When the computer is not connected to the VPN, I can use that computer to do the troubleshooting I need to do.

I can use Kaspersky to easily connect to the computer and push the software with the script I created. In the beginning, we used to deploy the OS on computers. After we implemented the Microsoft MDT, we left the deployment. The functionality is still good, but we have another tool for that.

What needs improvement?

It would be good if Kaspersky could lower the solution's price so people could afford to buy the licenses.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business for seven years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I rate the solution a nine out of ten for stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business is a scalable solution.

How are customer service and support?

I contacted the technical support team only once, and they helped to fix my issue.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I've heard from my manager that the solution is expensive.

What other advice do I have?

I used to open the security console center every day. When I opened the console, I could see all the issues and vulnerabilities with the antivirus or with the software on the workstations. From there, I could fix them myself or go to the computer and directly fix them. The solution was very clear to understand and manage.

I could easily do everything required by the workstation security, even managing the exceptions in the firewall. I could easily find help from the solution's website.

I would recommend the solution to other users because it's a very good product. People generally look for product quality and price. It would be good if Kaspersky could lower the solution's price so people could afford to buy the licenses.

The firewall was sometimes difficult to manage. Understanding how exactly it works is a bit complicated, and you have to go through the documentation for that.

Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

An easy-to-deploy tool with good application control
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that the application control is very good."
  • "The GUI mode in the product is an area with certain shortcomings since it looks old with the graphics provided by Kaspersky."

What is our primary use case?

In my company, we use Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business, just like how we use Sophos Central and Trend Micro Integrated Data Loss Prevention.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that the application control is very good.

What needs improvement?

The GUI mode in the product is an area with certain shortcomings since it looks old with the graphics provided by Kaspersky. The aforementioned area can be considered for improvement in the product.

Once you look at the console from the on-premises version, you can see that the GUI mode is very old, meaning you feel like you are dealing with something vintage in nature. The tool's GUI mode is not updated to a new one. Kaspersky should change settings or parameters and make it easy enough for users to create policies since, presently, some difficulties are encountered when creating the policies. The tool needs to change some components in the console to make the product easy to access and configure the policies.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There are no bugs in the product. It is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I know about a company that has around 600 users of the solution where I did the configuration.

How was the initial setup?

The product's initial setup phase was easy.

The solution is deployed on the cloud and on-premises model.

Once my company gets the license, we access the URL, after which we use the URL for configuration, license activation, creating agents, and creating the necessary policies, after which we take care of the setup phase for handing over the product to the customer.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The tool is expensive.

What other advice do I have?

To those who plan to use the solution, I would say that we need a dedicated server to deploy the tool in several places.

I rate the overall tool an eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Stable product with a wide range of security features
Pros and Cons
  • "It is an effective solution. It provides a wide range of security and defense features."
  • "Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business’s interface could be easier to understand when displaying the activities during configuration processes."

What is our primary use case?

We use the software to secure and defend the network from malicious attacks for endpoints.

What is most valuable?

It is an effective solution. It provides a wide range of security and defense features.

What needs improvement?

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business’s interface could be easier to understand when displaying the activities during configuration processes.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business for eight or nine years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have 50 Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business users in our organization. It is challenging to scale while working with a large number of users.

How are customer service and support?

The technical support team takes time to respond to the queries. However, their documentation on the website is helpful.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Neutral

How was the initial setup?

We encounter issues while deploying the product if it is not installed properly and requires one executive to work on the process. However, it is easy to maintain.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We purchase the software’s yearly license. It includes support and maintenance updates. The pricing is a bit more expensive than other products.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated a few similar products. We decided to use Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business as it is more stable, has different defense models, and helps in efficient network supervision.

What other advice do I have?

The product uses a lot of resources for hardware. It is necessary to install and configure the product correctly. I rate Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business a nine out of ten.
