What do I think about the stability of the solution?
This is a stable product.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We have had no problems with scalability. We have approximately 500 users in our company.
How are customer service and support?
I have been in contact with technical support many times, and they are very good.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have tried BitDefender but its management center is poor. It does not have as many features as Kaspersky has.
I have also used Trend Micro One, but it's not as good as Kaspersky. In Kaspersky, the management center is very simple to use.
How was the initial setup?
I have had some installation problems, but I'm doing well now.
What other advice do I have?
Overall, Kaspersky is a good product. That said, there is no such thing as a perfect solution. Trend Micro may have a better product, or BitDefender may have one that is better, but I like Kaspersky the most.
I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Pros and Cons
- "In EDR, they have a sandbox feature. Kaspersky's threat detection and response capability is very good, making it a strong feature."
- "The product is expensive."
How has it helped my organization?
They have been working on it for quite a few years now, and from the beginning, they have been pretty strong in database and network security. The security engine is updated very regularly. They stay on top of it, and if any new threat emerges, they quickly release patches to protect their machines and servers.
If we compare their strength with that of other companies, like Trend Micro, Trend Micro is a bit faster in upgrading its engines. Trend Micro seems more powerful in stopping any kind of virus or attack, including ransomware and zero-day vulnerabilities. Trend Micro is more active than Kaspersky in this regard. Nonetheless, both are good products, but, Trend Micro currently has a slight edge over Kaspersky.
What is most valuable?
In EDR, they have a sandbox feature. Kaspersky's threat detection and response capability is very good, making it a strong feature.
What needs improvement?
Kaspersky used to have a feature for data recovery or data backup. Initially, their documentation mentioned this capability, allowing users to recover or back up their data within their systems. However, they have since removed this feature entirely and no longer offer it in any of their products, even as a separate service. This feature was quite helpful during attacks, as it allowed for the recovery of databases and other important data.
Kaspersky focuses on improving its security engines and ensuring timely updates. Its products, which used to be heavy and slow-down machines, have become much lighter and now have minimal impact on system performance.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business as a partner for 15 years.
How are customer service and support?
Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business offers two types of support. The first is free support, which may take some time to respond. The second option is paid support, which can be purchased directly from Kaspersky and includes various options. In case of emergencies, network compromises, or if you need help with integrations or policies, you can contact their support team. Their response time depends on the nature of your agreement, ranging from within an hour to within twenty-four hours. They offer different levels of support agreements to suit your needs.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Trend Micro is generally more expensive than Kaspersky. However, Kaspersky is less expensive than Trend Micro for some products, especially for small projects involving endpoint security.
Kaspersky doesn't have a solution that competes with Trend Micro's offerings. Trend Micro's XDR feature is included in their version 1, which also includes endpoint security. This means that if you buy endpoint security from Trend Micro, you automatically get EDR. In contrast, with Kaspersky, you have to purchase EDR separately, as their endpoint security for business does not include EDR or XDR features.
The licensing models for both products are quite similar. Kaspersky uses a user-based license model.
What was our ROI?
One of my corporate clients, who has about 150 licenses, recently purchased Kaspersky. Prior to this, they experienced a ransomware attack, which resulted in the loss of their database, servers, and all the information stored on their machines.
The value of the database and information depends on how critical the client considers their data and emails to be. The potential loss from an attack can be substantial, making it essential to invest in robust security measures. When considering the ROI, Kaspersky can deliver ROI within a year. Recovering from a data loss incident requires significant time, effort, money, and expertise.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The product is expensive.
If you buy a bundle such as XDR, you purchase per-user licenses. This bundle includes other product features like Endpoint Security and EDR. Therefore, regardless of the specific product you are buying, you will purchase it on a per-user license basis
What other advice do I have?
Kaspersky has become much easier to use. It's very user-friendly. On its website, Kaspersky offers a variety of datasheets, installation guides, and user guides. By following these resources, you can handle the installation on your own. However, if you have an expert or certified engineer in endpoint security, the integration, installation, and configuration process becomes quite easy.
A notable feature is the management console or dashboard. Even if you are using three or four different licenses for your network and subnetworks that are connected to a centralized network but located in different parts of the country, you can manage everything from a single console. You don't need to install a separate console for each license. For instance, if a company has about a thousand users spread out geographically and wants to purchase multiple licenses.
I recommend this solution.
If a company can afford it and is willing to spend more, I suggest considering Trend Micro. However, if they choose Kaspersky, I recommend opting for their high-end solutions like Data or XDR, depending on their budget.
Overall, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

It's reliable and secure, but the monitoring and notifications could be more detailed
Pros and Cons
- "The performance is good. It doesn't use a lot of resources, which is crucial for us."
- "Kaspersky and most other security products have a lot of modules. They recently added several new ones. You find yourself buying and deploying so many things. There are some modules that everyone uses, like, for example, the orchestration module. Instead of selling them separately, it would be better to have bundles or an all-in-one license."
What is our primary use case?
We install Kaspersky to protect our endpoints for clients and servers. In the past, Kaspersky had different solutions for the clients and servers. We use the solution for protection from viruses, malware, etc., on the client's side.
I'm not sure if we'll increase usage of Kaspersky or try another solution. We are having discussions now with Trend Micro because we have new business requirements, and we want to see all the different capabilities that are there.
When we started with Kaspersky, it was an antivirus system, but now they've added endpoint protection, so it has more capabilities. Trend Micro has the same product and engine for clients and servers. We are using another product from Trend Micro that will integrate these products, which is better than having different solutions. For now, we're still using Kaspersky, but in the future, I think we'll move to Trend Micro.
What is most valuable?
With Kaspersky in place, we haven't faced any problems with viruses, ransomware, or anything like that.
What needs improvement?
If something critical happens, Kaspersky will alert the admin or SOC team about it. I think Kaspersky's reporting, monitoring, and notifications should be more detailed.
In my case, different admins are responsible because we have various departments. There is one admin per department. We don't need to receive all the notifications. We can receive only the critical alerts, but the other admins need to get all of them. That's one area where Kaspersky needs improvement.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've been using Kaspersky for five or six years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The performance is good. It doesn't use a lot of resources, which is crucial for us. However, the performance wasn't optimal out of the box. It needed some tuning on it to be sure that it is the best configuration. Kaspersky is reliable. I can't recall any time we had crashes or downtime.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Kaspersky is highly scalable. Right now, we have more than 500 users in various departments, including regular employees and managers.
How are customer service and support?
Kaspersky support is fast and good.
How was the initial setup?
Setting up Kaspersky isn't complex at all. It's straightforward. You install the server, and then you can install the agent remotely. It didn't take very long either. For post-installation maintenance, we have different sites, and each site has an engineer responsible for handling Kaspersky. The product doesn't necessarily require this many engineers. It's only because we have different locations. Right now, we have five or six engineers across the various sites.
What about the implementation team?
We used a Kaspersky partner for implementation. They were very good.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I don't remember exactly what the licenses cost, but it's not too expensive. It's affordable,
especially when you are dealing with on-prem. However, I don't know about the new prices because we are in the process of buying support. We've owned the license for a long time, and we are now bringing in the support, so we are not paying much for this.
Kaspersky and most other security products have a lot of modules. They recently added several new ones. You find yourself buying and deploying so many things. There are some modules that everyone uses, like, for example, the orchestration module. Instead of selling them separately, it would be better to have bundles or an all-in-one license. That would save the customers from having to do lots of implementations. As far as I know, they do not have a bundled license.
What other advice do I have?
I rate Kaspersky Endpoint Security seven out of 10. I think Kaspersky is one of the best products for small and medium-sized businesses. It doesn't need that much experience for implementation and support. I would suggest that new users be patient when they're tuning in the first implementation. They might find that the system uses a lot of resources and the machines become slow. But after spending some time tuning, the product will work fine.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Manage website categories and provides robust protection with good support
Pros and Cons
- "Kaspersky includes web protection and user protection features. Web threat protection ensures that users are immediately protected whenever they browse the internet and encounter potentially harmful websites. This process helps safeguard users, and Kaspersky certifies websites to enhance the browsing experience."
- "The admin console must be a little bit easier."
What is our primary use case?
We're using Kaspersky on our server and some clients. It is the only security solution we have for these systems. We manage website categories through it, similar to how some website brands manage their categories. For example, we categorize websites like Facebook. Our approach to website management may differ slightly.
How has it helped my organization?
Kaspersky provides robust protection. It allows us to manage 30 clients from a single PC. We monitor and block data transfers via USB to prevent virus infections and other threats.
What is most valuable?
Kaspersky includes web protection and user protection features. Web threat protection ensures that users are immediately protected whenever they browse the internet and encounter potentially harmful websites. This process helps safeguard users, and Kaspersky certifies websites to enhance the browsing experience.
What needs improvement?
It is not stable. It may not meet all our current requirements. Clients might face issues, which implies that our infrastructure might not be robust enough to handle additional components or tasks.
The admin console interface is difficult to navigate. If you don't use it for an extended period, you might encounter issues when looking for specific functions or events. Additionally, the UNC.exe file is still being utilized, which can affect system performance. It's important to periodically reinstall and update the software to ensure everything functions correctly. Managing a large infrastructure with this system may require additional effort and resources.
The admin console must be a little bit easier.

Useful for file encryption and provides total security
Pros and Cons
- "The most valuable feature is that it provides total security, everything in one."
- "This solution would be improved if it were more compatible with Windows Server. There is not a client for Windows Server, like for Windows Workstation, so there are a lot of things you cannot control from the local system, or from the desktop directly. You have to control everything from the policy server, not from the client's side. The interface is kind of light, and it's not good—it could be more user-friendly."
What is our primary use case?
Recently, I have primarily been using Kaspersky Endpoint Security for protection against ransomware. I also use this solution for file encryption.
This solution is deployed on-prem.
What is most valuable?
The most valuable feature is that it provides total security, everything in one.
What needs improvement?
This solution would be improved if it were more compatible with Windows Server. There is not a client for Windows Server, like for Windows Workstation, so there are a lot of things you cannot control from the local system, or from the desktop directly. This solution is a bit stable. The performance is okay, I'm satisfied with it.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
This solution is scalable.
There are over 100 end users of Kaspersky Endpoint Security in our organization. We have plans to increase usage and buy more licenses because we have some more people.
How are customer service and support?
I have contacted technical support once before. I asked them for something, and they helped me. I don't think we have asked for help since then.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Before implementing Kaspersky, we used Symantec. I've found that Kaspersky is better.
How was the initial setup?
The installation is straightforward. Sometimes it takes five to ten minutes, but it depends on the person. If the person is knowledgeable, it could take two or three minutes, but if not, it takes time.
For deployment and maintenance, we have the system admin and a team of two.
What about the implementation team?
We implemented this solution ourselves.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
For licensing, we pay a yearly subscription.
What other advice do I have?
I rate Kaspersky a nine out of ten, and I would recommend this solution to others.

Easy to configure and used for endpoint protection and detection response
Pros and Cons
- "Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business detects malware and is easy to configure."
- "The solution's management console can be better and more granular than it is now."
What is our primary use case?
Initially, we used the solution for endpoint protection, but now we also use it for detection response.
What is most valuable?
I like the fact that the solution is automated to a large extent, and it works on its own with minimal intervention. Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business detects malware and is easy to configure.
What needs improvement?
The solution's management console can be better and more granular than it is now. The solution could add a sandbox in which we could simulate files. The technical support team’s response time could be improved.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business for 12 years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I rate the solution an eight out of ten for stability.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I rate the solution an eight out of ten for scalability.
How are customer service and support?
The solution's technical support used to be slow, and they forced you to get paid support. With free support, you typically get a response in a day or two for your queries.
How would you rate customer service and support?
Neutral
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have previously used McAfee and Norton. McAfee used to be quite heavy on the system, and quite a lot of malware used to fall through it back then.
How was the initial setup?
On a scale from one to ten, where one is difficult and ten is easy, I rate the solution's initial setup a nine out of ten.
What about the implementation team?
For a 2,500-user environment, it took a week to deploy the solution. Our IT team worked on the implementation of the solution.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business is an expensive solution.
On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing a seven out of ten.
What other advice do I have?
The solution is centrally managed. We deploy the network agent with Windows tools and then deploy the endpoint security through the network agent. The solution has effectively improved our endpoint security posture, and we've not had any ransomware issues. The solution has a negative impact on the performance of our endpoints.
We can do some investigation with the EDR component. I would recommend the solution to other users.
Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
