The solution is mainly used for development. Mainly, it's easy for developers to learn, and allows for adaptability of the Windows platforms to make it easy for developers to develop any application. Its development environments might not be available on Linux or other platforms such as Ubuntu.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The stability is good. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
The scalability is very good. If a company needs to expand it, it can do so. It's not a problem.
It's pretty much used by everybody in the company. That's likely 1000 or more users.
How are customer service and support?
It's my understanding that we don't really need technical support. Everything seems to be working. Microsoft, quality wise, if you take a look at it, has less of a likelihood of facing any quality slippage that would affect the whole operating system. It's very reliable.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have always used Windows. I did not use any other solution.
How was the initial setup?
The installation was handled by our IT team. I was not a part of that process. Therefore, I can't speak to how easy or difficult it was. However, my understanding is that it went pretty well.
We have a centralized team of five to ten people that handle deployment and maintenance on this and many other solutions within the company.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
The solution is pricey. If cost is a problem, users should look at Linux.
We paid for the solution one time and don't have any recurring fees.
What other advice do I have?
I'm just an end-user and a customer.
We are using the latest version of the solution.
I'd rate the solution at a ten out of ten. We've been very happy with the product.
I would recommend the solution, however, I don't really need to. People prefer Microsoft. It's not me recommending the solution that will make people buy it. It is already a market leader and it doesn't require any help remaining so.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Reliable, with many updates and patching through the cloud, and it's easy to install
Pros and Cons
- "It provides us with very good updates and security patching that is required."
- "The price could be cheaper."
What is our primary use case?
The operating system is the heart of the laptop or the heart of your system. It is where you use all your applications. Underneath the operating system is where you have the processor.
In order to run all of your applications, you need to use the operating system.
What is most valuable?
It provides us with very good updates and security patching that is required. It is done through the internet and gone are the days where you needed a disc for the updates.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Windows 10 for three years.
I use it on my laptop, but the upgrades are done through the cloud.
I am using the latest version.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Windows 10 is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Scalability is not something that really applies to an operating system. It's not an application that is run for 10 users as an example.
We have 5,000 peoplein our organization who are using Windows 10.
How are customer service and technical support?
I have an IT team that deals with technical support. They have a better view of what the support is like.
Microsoft is such a large corporation, I am sure they have very good technical support.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have always used Windows 10.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is pretty straightforward. Windows 10 is standardized. It's easy.
There really isn't any maintenance required. it's pretty easy. You need to update and run some security tests and maybe some patching, but there are pop-ups that come up to click, making it super easy.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I am not sure about the pricing. It might be $1,000 per license. The price goes down by the number of licenses.
The price could be cheaper. Not very cheap but cheaper.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend Windows 10 to anyone who wants to use this as an operating system.
I would rate Windows 10 a nine out of ten.

Market Data and Solace Specialist at a financial services firm with 10,001+ employees
No installation needed
Pros and Cons
- "There was no installation necessary."
- "MS Office or Internet Explorer has a big ribbon on top, which occupies needed space."
What is our primary use case?
We use the solution solely on desktops, for running personal applications.
What is most valuable?
I do not use the solution out of any particular preference. It is simply that my company utilizes it and I must follow suit.
What needs improvement?
Certain aspects of the solution are really complicated and should be simplified. I am referring to features we utilize daily, such as those used for finding things and Internet Explorer.
MS Office or Internet Explorer has a big ribbon on top. While it may be useful, it occupies a lot of screen space. My laptop contains a very small screen of just 13 inches, which is full HD, meaning that the forms already appear very small. As the ribbon occupies some of this needed space, reducing it would free up that which is on the screen.
For how long have I used the solution?
We have been using Windows 10 for the last three years.
How are customer service and technical support?
When it comes to technical support, I generally have to reach out to my local IT guys.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Before using the solution, we made use of Windows 7.
How was the initial setup?
There was no installation necessary.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
We don't spend anything for the license. I prefer the full license, not the one for cloud.
What other advice do I have?
The solution is used on my personal laptop. I use Windows 10. I don't run tests on my own. I do everything on my office infrastructure. For the data and middleware I get support in my office.
The solution is easy to use.
Everyone in my organization uses Windows 10, although I cannot disclose the exact number of users.
I feel compelled to recommend the solution to others, as there are no available alternatives when it comes to desktops.
For desktop usage, I rate Windows 10 as an eight out of ten.

An intelligent OS that is stable with a great interface
Pros and Cons
- "Every new version is always an improvement on the last."
- "In Windows 10, the magnifier is really bad in comparison to the macOS zooming feature."
What is our primary use case?
The solution runs on some of my laptops and I personally have it on my own devices.
What is most valuable?
What I like about Windows 10 is that it's a very intelligent OS. The interface is great. It's stable.
I love the interface. It's very smart. The customization capabilities and all the advantages of Windows 10 are great.
You have a lot of third-party software for the Windows environment.
I have to use it for work, however, it's also a good choice for me as well to use it in my private time.
Every new version is always an improvement on the last.
The initial setup is very straightforward.
What needs improvement?
On a MacBook, in macOS, whatever application you have opened or are using, whether it's Apple or third-party or part of the OS or not, it doesn't matter, at any point you can always zoom in on the screen by just simply pushing a button and rotating the mouse scroll wheel for example, at any time. It's very smooth and fast zooming capabilities. You can zoom in very a lot or zoom in limited, whatever you need, at any part of the screen. I love that feature.
However, in Windows 10, the magnifier is really bad in comparison to the macOS zooming feature. I don't exactly remember what Apple calls it, however, the Windows magnifier is really bad. I tried also some third-party zooming tools and software for Windows, which were also really bad. This is something I really miss in Windows. In Windows, the magnifier really isn't that great.
For how long have I used the solution?
I've basically used the solution since it was released.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is quite stable. there are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable.
How are customer service and technical support?
I don't use technical support. It's my understanding that many private users don't. therefore, I can't really speak to how helpful or responsive they are.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is quite straightforward. A company shouldn't have any issues with the process.
What other advice do I have?
I work as a consultant for companies and it depends on the client. So sometimes I work in large environments, sometimes medium, sometimes small environments.
I'd recommend the solution to other users and companies.
I'd rate the solution at a nine out of ten. I've been very happy with its capabilities.

An operating system that's pretty stable
Pros and Cons
- "I like how Windows 10 is quite stable."
- "It would be better if there were more integration with Linux and Azure."
What is our primary use case?
I use it mainly as the operating system for my tech development work. I'm running some kind of research studio and a database on this.
What is most valuable?
I like how Windows 10 is quite stable.
What needs improvement?
It would be better if there were more integration with Linux and Azure.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Windows 10 for several years. I got it when it first came out.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I've been in business since 1980, so I have used many operating systems like Sun. That's what it was called before Oracle bought them.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is straightforward, but it takes some time to download and implement this solution.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I don't pay for my personal use. However, my company certainly has some licenses, but I'm not aware of what they pay for them.
What other advice do I have?
I would recommend this solution to new users.
On a scale from one to ten, I would give Windows 10 a nine.

Sr. System and Storage Administrator at a government with 51-200 employees
Easy to use with a straightforward installation and good stability
Pros and Cons
- "The solution is useful for end-user computing."
- "The interface itself could be more user-friendly."
What is our primary use case?
We primarily use the solution for the client operating system. It is for end-users. We are administrators and it is a desktop client operating system.
What is most valuable?
The solution is useful for end-user computing.
The solution is very stable so far.
We've found it to be flexible.
The product is easy to use.
The new features it offers are very useful.
There have been a lot of improvements and enhancements to the product.
The installation is extremely straightforward.
What needs improvement?
The security aspect of the solution could be improved. they should work to make sure that their security is built out and more robust in future releases.
The interface itself could be more user-friendly.
For how long have I used the solution?
We started using it about the time it was released. We've been using it for about two years or so now.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution has been very, very stable. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable in terms of performance.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
We have about 500 people using the solution currently.
We do plan to continue to use the solution in the future.
How are customer service and technical support?
We've had some experience with technical support. They've been fine, in general. We have no complaints. We're satisfied with the level of support they provide to us.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Previous to this solution, it is my understanding that we used Windows 8.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup is not difficult or overly complex. It's very simple and quite straightforward. A company shouldn't have any issues with the implementation process.
The deployment is very fast and only takes about 15 minutes or so.
Since this product is for end-user computing, we have a separate team of four administrators that deal directly with the implementation and maintenance of the solution.
What about the implementation team?
I was able to handle the implementation on my own. It didn't require assistance. We didn't hire any outside consultants or integrators for the setup.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
We pay for our licensing on a yearly basis. I can't speak to the exact amount, however.
What other advice do I have?
We are using the latest version of the solution. I don't know the exact version number.
In general, on a scale from one to ten, I'd rate this product at an eight. It's been reliable and we've been happy with its capabilities overall.
I would recommend the solution to other companies and organizations.

Principal Consultant, Presales at Self-employed
Feature rich, innovative, user friendly, and easy install
Pros and Cons
- "It is a much faster solution if you are transitioning from a traditional Windows operating system."
- "If someone is coming from a previous Windows experience, it could be complex."
What is most valuable?
It is a much faster solution if you are transitioning from a traditional Windows operating system. It is simple, feature-rich, innovative, and once you get used to it, it is user friendly as well.
What needs improvement?
If someone is coming from a previous Windows experience, it could be complex. The solution could be more simplistic from a user perspective. When operating the solution sometimes you receive many different types of options, there is a chatbot build in, and some automatic assistance that was not expected.
There are excessive features in this version and the functionality they are based on needs improvement. The traditional way of using a Windows platform has been somehow lost. It will take a little time to get used to the Windows 10 experience.
Some features are not available in the basic version of the software that can be useful.
In the future, the solution should have a more simplified virtual assistant. I think they might be already planning to do this. There should be more features coming in the solution pre-installed. For example, when you purchase Windows 10, you should have a basic version of Microsoft Office installed on it. It should not be priced separately, more inclusion of features should be there.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using the solution for approximately three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Compared to their competition, this solution is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I have found it to be a scalable solution.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Prior to using this solution, I was using Windows seven or Windows eight, not SPF.
What about the implementation team?
The deployment is easy.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
I have never bought this solution myself, I generally get it with my Notebook for free. I think they are competitively priced at this moment. They could reduce the price a bit more, currently, it is priced in the middle.
What other advice do I have?
From the last three-four years, while I was using Windows 10, I think it took me some time to really get used to it properly. For example, we had to figure out how to search. Though they have included improvements from a previous version it took time to learn the new changes.
There is not anything to can say negative because you do not have an option to choose in some cases. When you have a PC environment Windows 10 should be there. If you want to review the previous versions or any extensive version of Windows 10, then it may be different. Enterprise has some added features that the basic does not, these advanced features are available for those who need it. There are other solutions such as Mac or Linux, but in a PC environment, you do not have a specific choice.
I rate Windows 10 an eight out of ten.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
On-premises

Useful features include firewall, antivirus protection, and Outlook
Pros and Cons
- "One of the most valuable features is that there is one processor. Some other valuable features are the firewall, antivirus protection, Microsoft Defender, and Outlook."
- "Windows 10 could be improved with faster upgrades. I know they already made changes to the next version, so maybe I have to upgrade first and then check whatever I think was missing. Apart from that, I haven't really had any issues."
What is our primary use case?
I primarily use Windows 10 for personal purposes and business projects.
I have Windows 10 installed on my laptop.
What is most valuable?
One of the most valuable features is that there is one processor. Some other valuable features are the firewall, antivirus protection, Microsoft Defender, and Outlook.
What needs improvement?
Windows 10 could be improved with faster upgrades. I know they already made changes to the next version, so maybe I have to upgrade first and then check whatever I think was missing. Apart from that, I haven't really had any issues.
As for additional features, maybe they could add some enhancements regarding better memory and battery management.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using Windows 10 for around two to three years.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
I think Windows 10 is stable, and I'm able to do work for very long hours. Unfortunately, however, after some time, there are issues with battery or maybe memory management.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
This solution is scalable.
How are customer service and support?
I have never been in touch with Microsoft's technical support, but I send diagnostics when I'm able to.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I previously used Windows 7. I think the leap from Windows 7 was major because I felt that it was not very secure and I think it was ending its support. Because of this, I focused more on having a more stable OS, which was Windows 10. Windows 10 is more stable and secure than previous versions.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup process was fairly simple. I didn't really have to handle installation because it was pre-installed on my laptop when I bought it.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
Windows 10 was pre-installed when I bought my laptop, so I haven't had to deal with any licensing costs.
What other advice do I have?
I rate Windows 10 an eight out of ten. I would recommend Windows 10 to others, but I'm also looking to upgrade.
