Reliable, with many updates and patching through the cloud, and it's easy to install
Pros and Cons
  • "It provides us with very good updates and security patching that is required."
  • "The price could be cheaper."

What is our primary use case?

The operating system is the heart of the laptop or the heart of your system. It is where you use all your applications. Underneath the operating system is where you have the processor.

In order to run all of your applications, you need to use the operating system.

What is most valuable?

It provides us with very good updates and security patching that is required. It is done through the internet and gone are the days where you needed a disc for the updates.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Windows 10 for three years.

I use it on my laptop, but the upgrades are done through the cloud.

I am using the latest version.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Windows 10 is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability is not something that really applies to an operating system. It's not an application that is run for 10 users as an example.

We have 5,000 peoplein our organization who are using Windows 10.

How are customer service and support?

I have an IT team that deals with technical support. They have a better view of what the support is like.

Microsoft is such a large corporation, I am sure they have very good technical support.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have always used Windows 10.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is pretty straightforward. Windows 10 is standardized. It's easy.

There really isn't any maintenance required. it's pretty easy. You need to update and run some security tests and maybe some patching, but there are pop-ups that come up to click, making it super easy.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I am not sure about the pricing. It might be $1,000 per license. The price goes down by the number of licenses.

The price could be cheaper. Not very cheap but cheaper.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend Windows 10 to anyone who wants to use this as an operating system.

I would rate Windows 10 a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Bug and glitch free
Pros and Cons
  • "I have found no bugs or glitches in the solution."
  • "Setup and use between multiple monitors should be easier."

What is our primary use case?

I don't know which version we are using.

We don't use the solution for anything specific.

What is most valuable?

I cannot think of any specific features which stand out to me.

What needs improvement?

Setup and use between multiple monitors should be easier.

For how long have I used the solution?

I don't know exactly how long I have been using Windows 10, likely a couple of years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have found no bugs or glitches in the solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

While I cannot say for sure, it seems that the scalability has been okay thus far.

How are customer service and technical support?

I am not aware of any use having been made of technical support.

How was the initial setup?

I was not involved in the setup. This was already handled by my IT department

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't know how much we paid for the solution.

What other advice do I have?

I have no idea how many are using the solution in our organization, although I assume this would include everybody, meaning 1,200 or 1,500 people.

I have no specific advice to offer.

I rate Windows 10 as a nine out of ten.

A scalable and easy to use solution
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is easy to use."
  • "The solution is easy to use, it serves many functions, user accounts can be identified in Windows 10, it offers performance and functionality, and sensitive data which is deployed in one's application can be set in his policy."
  • "The solution derails the battery too quickly, meaning the performance could be better."

What is our primary use case?

We mainly use the solution in the cloud for discovering all of its applications. We also use it for identification purposes and either to block access or unauthenticate updated applications.

What is most valuable?

The solution is easy to use.

It serves many functions. User accounts can be identified in Windows 10. It offers performance and functionality. Sensitive data which is deployed in one's application can be set in his policy.

What needs improvement?

In contrast to Windows 11, the 10 version could have improved functionality.

The solution derails the battery too quickly, meaning the performance could be better.

The space utilization is not sufficient and there are too many notifications for the user.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Windows 10 for three or four years.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable. It can be applied to as many PCs as one likes.

How are customer service and technical support?

One of the good things about Microsoft is that the support is there, although the time it takes to respond and to resolve the issue could be improved upon.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

The good thing about Windows 10 is that it's from Microsoft. I have also used iOS, which is from Apple, as well as Android, from Samsung. So too, I have used macOS Sierra, like MacBook OS, in addition to Ubuntu.

How was the initial setup?

The installation lasts a couple of hours, so it would be better if this could be accomplished within a few minutes.

What about the implementation team?

It is possible to do deployment and maintenance with the use of system administrators.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution comes with a licensing fee.

What other advice do I have?

Windows 10 is deployed on one's PC.

As the solution is from Microsoft, I would definitely recommend its use.

Our organization has more than 100 users who are making use of the solution.

As Windows 10 is from Microsoft, I rate it as a nine-point-five out of ten.

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for running our applications.

What is most valuable?

For basic use, the solution is very stable and the performance is good.

It's a product that is easy to use.

The product is very stable. It doesn't crash or freeze. There are no bugs or glitches. It's reliable and the performance is good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability needs to be better.

I'm not sure how many people are using the solution in our organization at this time. It's somewhere between a hundred and a thousand.

How are customer service and technical support?

I've been in touch with technical support and find them to be decent. I have no complaints.

How was the initial setup?

The installation process is very straightforward. It's not difficult or complex. It's very easy.

I've done a few deployments at this point. I'm pretty comfortable with the process.

Straightforward to set up with good stability and lots of troubleshooting information available online
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution has been very stable."
  • "The time it takes to initially install the solution could be a bit less. Right now, it takes a few hours. We'd like it to be faster."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily use the solution for document processing and the database for using Excel. In my case, I use a lot of Excel and Microsoft Word. I tend to stick to Office applications and Microsoft applications only.

What is most valuable?

We are upgrading the physical RAM in order to use the open drive.

We've been familiarizing ourselves with the features.

The initial setup was quite straightforward.

The solution has been very stable.

You can easily find answers to any questions you have online.

What needs improvement?

I haven't extensively explored all of the features and aspects of the solution.

The time it takes to initially install the solution could be a bit less. Right now, it takes a few hours. We'd like it to be faster.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for three years at this point. It's been a while.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is now quite stable. At the beginning, we are facing some problems, however, nowadays, after all of these software patches and security patches, it's quite stabilized. There are no more issues. Its performance is very reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I consider myself an average user and therefore have never attempted to scale the product. I'm not sure how it would go. I have never tried.

How are customer service and technical support?

I've never reached out to technical support directly. Usually, if I run into issues, I Google answers and troubleshoot by myself. Therefore, I can't speak to how helpful or responsive they would be.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We updated from a previous Windows version - either Windows 7 or 8.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was very straightforward and simple. It's not overly complex or difficult.

The installation process took a few hours, as we were upgrading from an old Windows version to Windows 10

What about the implementation team?

I have handled all aspects of the implementation myself. By myself, I have handled the upgrading, auto-upgrading, downloading, and installation by myself. I did not need the help of an integrator or consultant.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The software and hardware tend to get bundled together in the final price. I can't speak to the exact pricing, as it's not an aspect of the product I deal with.

What other advice do I have?

We have the solution deployed to our desktops and laptops.

I'm simply a regular user. I don't have a business relationship with Microsoft.

I would recommend the solution to other users and organizations.

I'd rate the product at an eight out of ten. We've been happy with it so far, however, it's not a perfect product.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

No installation needed
Pros and Cons
  • "There was no installation necessary."
  • "The solution is easy to use."
  • "MS Office or Internet Explorer has a big ribbon on top, which occupies needed space."
  • "Certain aspects of the solution are really complicated and should be simplified."

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution solely on desktops, for running personal applications.

What is most valuable?

I do not use the solution out of any particular preference. It is simply that my company utilizes it and I must follow suit.

What needs improvement?

Certain aspects of the solution are really complicated and should be simplified. I am referring to features we utilize daily, such as those used for finding things and Internet Explorer.

MS Office or Internet Explorer has a big ribbon on top. While it may be useful, it occupies a lot of screen space. My laptop contains a very small screen of just 13 inches, which is full HD, meaning that the forms already appear very small. As the ribbon occupies some of this needed space, reducing it would free up that which is on the screen.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Windows 10 for the last three years.

How are customer service and technical support?

When it comes to technical support, I generally have to reach out to my local IT guys.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Before using the solution, we made use of Windows 7.

How was the initial setup?

There was no installation necessary.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We don't spend anything for the license. I prefer the full license, not the one for cloud.

What other advice do I have?

The solution is used on my personal laptop. I use Windows 10. I don't run tests on my own. I do everything on my office infrastructure. For the data and middleware I get support in my office.

The solution is easy to use.

Everyone in my organization uses Windows 10, although I cannot disclose the exact number of users.

I feel compelled to recommend the solution to others, as there are no available alternatives when it comes to desktops.

For desktop usage, I rate Windows 10 as an eight out of ten.

Disclosure: My company does not have a business relationship with this vendor other than being a customer.

Is used by most and is easy to install
Pros and Cons
  • "The best thing is that all are using it and that there are some applications like Power BI that are only in Windows and not in any other environment."
  • "We have a lot of different hardware that has to communicate, and sometimes, the Windows drivers get overloaded."

What is our primary use case?

I use it mainly for development and also for teaching and training.

What is most valuable?

The best thing is that all are using it and that there are some applications like Power BI that are only in Windows and not in any other environment.

It is easy to install and is stable as well.

What needs improvement?

We have a lot of different hardware that has to communicate, and sometimes, the Windows drivers get overloaded.

So, the performance could be better.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using it for about two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

During these past two years, Windows has crashed only once on my computer.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I use Ubuntu Linux on my own computer.

How was the initial setup?

It was easy to install Windows 10. It did take quite long, about five hours, because a lot of data had to be downloaded, and several reboots were needed.

What about the implementation team?

I installed it myself.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I have a corporate license.

What other advice do I have?

Because it's very good, I would rate Windows 10 at nine on a scale from one to ten.

I'm using the oldest development environment for business informatics. So, for those not interested in gaming or in graphic design, especially for all business users, I strongly recommend Windows 10.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises
