I think Tableau and Informatica PowerCenter are the two best data visualization tools out there.
The most appealing features of Tableau that make it a valuable solution are:
Ease of use: Because it is easy to use, it makes it extremely easy to train people who do not have an IT background.
Good visualizations: With its powerful visualizations, the solution is able to provide a clear and comprehensive view of your data. The visualizations also incorporate helpful combination charts.
In-memory extract feature: With this feature, you can extract data and keep it on the server, so users can access it quickly.
Flexibility: The solution’s filtering tools and segmentation of data makes it much more flexible than other competing data visualization tools.
Real-time analytics: With Tableau, your data updates automatically or at chosen intervals give you a real-time view of your most important metrics. In addition, the solution enables you to access real-time sales reports, regional performance, and inventory measures. Tableau equips your organization to react and problem-solve in real time, so if there are any issues you can address them immediately.
Intuitive dashboard creation and UX: Tableau has an intuitive design that includes drag-and-drop features, intuitive drill-down capabilities, and natural language querying, which makes it possible for new users and data analysts to quickly create visualizations and dashboards to gain insight almost instantly.
Easily integrates with existing technology: Last but not least, Tableau can easily connect to a variety of data sources, and all your data can truly exist in one single place. The solution has several options for connecting to data.
Takeaway:
Overall, I think Tableau is unique and better than other data visualization tools because it makes connecting to and gaining insight from your data very simple. I would not hesitate to recommend it.
I would rate Informatica PowerCenter a close second. It also has a solid set of features that makes it a powerful solution.
Some of its best features include:
Easy to use: Like Tableau, Informatica PowerCenter is very user-friendly and can be learned very quickly.
Stability and scalability: The product is very stable and can scale easily, so it can grow with you as your organization sizes up.
Metadata repository: The solution’s metadata repository makes it easy for you to easily understand the lineage of first target mapping.
Knowledgeable support: The technical support team is very quick to respond, and is always able to help.
Efficient monitoring: Informatica PowerCenter allows you to use machine learning to efficiently monitor and manage your PowerCenter deployments across domains and locations.
Real-time data for applications and analytics: Like Tableau, Informatica PowerCenter provides accurate and timely data for next-generation analytics, operational efficiency, and customer-centric applications.
Universal connectivity: With this feature, you gain seamless access and integration of data from all types of sources, using high-performance, out-of-the-box connectors.
Takeaway:
Informatica PowerCenter is an extremely reliable, stable, and scalable solution that is capable of managing a huge quantity of data. With its ease of use and great data visualizations, I would give it a 9 out of 10.

Hi Beth - it's a big question and it really depends on who the users will be and what you are trying to do. Be careful, because I.T. people look at this question differently than business people.
There are a lot of data visualization tools on the market and they can all do very similar things when it comes to creating dashboards and visualizing data. Tableau and PowerBI are widely used amongst major corporations. But both tools are better off in the hands of Power Users who need to explore data and quickly visualize it to look for interesting trends and patterns. They are not tools for the general consumer although consumers will use applications developed in these tools.
Informatica Power Center is not a data visualization tool, it is primarily an ETL (Extraction, Transformation and Load) tool used for manipulating your data before visualizing it.
My takeaway is not to listen to the analysts or BI vendors or people who have a bias toward one tool, without ever using the other tools. Just try out the tools yourself and you will quickly see how good they are and how easy they are to use.

If visualisation is the only criteria, then Tableau seems to top the list. The clean yet powerful UI for Tableau really make it easy to show visual insights from data.

I do not recommend one specific tool. Use the best tool for the job at hand.
