HPE Ethernet Switches is a fairly cheap solution. The solution does the job well for its price. You have to pay a lot more money for higher features, but then you are probably better off looking at higher-end switches. HPE Ethernet Switches are designed for smaller size businesses.
We have to pay for a yearly license for HPE Ethernet Switches. The solution's pricing is lower than Cisco's. The solution does not include any extra costs in addition to the standard licensing fees.
HPE Ethernet Switches used to have a lifetime warranty for some of the products. We have to see only the security part when considering licenses because the licenses upgrade.
The solution is quite expensive. I can't speak to the exact cost of the solution. In one year, we pay a lot for it. We just bought new switches for $500 last year, and now, the same switch is $800. It's gone up in price in the last 12 months. They are also hard in terms of getting switches. They are not available now. There are no additional costs over and above licensing.
As a technician, I am not certain of pricing, but I believe HPE is less expensive than Aruba and UniFi and that is why certain clients have chosen them as their solution.
I like HPE switches because you get a perpetual license with the hardware. The initial cost is about the same as other switches, but it starts beating the competitors after three or four years because you don't have to pay for additional annual licensing costs. We also pay for a support contract as well. It's optional, but you don't get software updates without the contract.

One of its greatest selling features is its price. It's very cheap - much cheaper than Cisco. That, coupled with its general comparable capabilities to other items on the market make it a very attractive option.

You do need to pay quite a bit for the license. The pricing could be a little bit less, to be honest. As a product that's made in Taiwan, you would assume it would be cheaper than it is.

There is no license for this solution. We need a license for having a management solution, but the switch does not need a license. There are free software updates and there is a lifetime warranty for a few of the switch series. If a customer has an issue with a switch and has to return to HPE, they can have it replaced within thirty days. To our customers, we offer a contract service to have an exchange within the next day.
