AWS Storage Gateway can be used to store your data. Instead of sending the data to the internal file shares or UNC path, we can use the AWS S3 bucket, which is pretty good and fast. We can rely on AWS, and our data will not be compromised. When the data is at rest, it cannot be stolen or manipulated because it is encrypted. AWS Storage Gateway is used when connecting from the internal on-premises servers or the internal on-premises UNC path to AWS. We need to use AWS Storage Gateway whenever data goes from on-premises to AWS or from AWS to on-premises.
I primarily use the solution as a gateway to AWS's storage solutions. It's a bundle of different services. We have it so that we can archive data and restore data from the archive.
The primary use case is simple. When you need especially high performance, and require the cache or a local copy of your data, you can't afford the round trip to the cloud and back each time you want to read something. So you keep your information stored locally, cached locally, and then the major repository is in the cloud.
AWS Storage Gateway provides hybrid cloud storage services that give users access to unlimited cloud storage. As a part of the Amazon Web Services, one of the leading on-demand cloud computing platforms, the AWS Storage Gateway allows you to use the AWS storage without the need to rewrite your applications. It does this by providing protocols like iSCSI, NFS, and SMB. It works by caching frequently accessed data on premises and simultaneously storing data on AWS, as well as optimizing data...

We use the solution to store files, images, and folders.
I mainly use AWS Storage Gateway to store files that are not currently needed.
We use this solution for crypto exchange. This solution is deployed on the cloud.
We are using AWS Storage Gateway for migration purposes from our on-premise data to Amazon AWS Cloud.
We use it to store data for all of our systems for our finance operations.
