It can monitor domain controllers, VMware, and many other things. There are more than 70 agents, different agents provided by IBM, which can be used for all kinds of application monitoring, OS monitoring, and many other things.

IBM Tivoli NetCool has a nickname, it is called the Manager of Managers. The solution manages alarms from all the different MMSes, or management systems. All the systems are integrated with NetCool. This allows you to be able to view all the alarms on one screen. NetCool is the alarm management for alarm management.

Tivoli Netcool is being used for monitoring network and data center IT infrastructure. Currently, I am working on a contract for a customer with an on-premises solution using Netcool. I'm a contractor, so I work with various customers.
