I use Microsoft Project for project planning across various initiatives. It is the go-to solution for organizations to plan projects, manage sequences of execution, dependencies, and timelines through an end-to-end lifecycle process.
My clients use Microsoft Project Server since it is very useful and helpful, making their jobs and lives easier. It is particularly effective for program managers and is currently being used in my project.
We use the tool in our IT-related projects. All IT efforts are managed using the Microsoft Project Server. Every week, we have a project status meeting where we demonstrate the project's status using the tool. We track tasks and progress, assign owners, and monitor milestones and all project-related work using it.
We use the solution for centralized project management for departments seeking to consolidate project dependencies, manage master projects, manage resource planning, handle incomplete tasks, and more.
The solution was used to prepare documentation and manage the project timelines and schedules. We used the tool for documentation control and project management. We can manage and create budgets, timelines, and schedules. We can know when we are lagging, when we are on time, when we have to change the resources, or when we have to manage our resources differently. We can get all the reports from the software. We used the solution to manage multiple projects.

I primarily use the solution for plans and projects. I use it to handle timelines and scheduling. It's primarily used for project implementation. We use it to improve and keep track of project status.
When it comes to enterprise projects, we need a consolidated environment where we can interlink all project management activities, including the cost, resources, timeline, and the whole landscape of project management and portfolio management. We needed enterprise resource planning, and we implemented this for the organization.
Currently, we are helping a government entity with their PMO portfolio. They have many departments and streams. The main Microsoft Project Server use case for them is managing the planning for all the projects within the workflows, monitoring the projects inside the dashboards of the PMO and processing all the workflows for the project initiation, charter, and deliverables.
Everyone in the company has projects, and everyone needs approvals from everyone in the company. They need to handle approvals, rejections, cost estimates, project timelines, et cetera. This is an investment company, and all of the projects and related items are handled by Microsoft Projects and Power BI. This solution allows the CEO to see what's happening in subsidiaries in the company.

We are currently using the 2001 version. We use the solution for projects, with the goal of it being shared with more users, who can employ it as a single tool.
My organization handles IT consulting and services. That's primarily how the organization is managed. The use case for this solution was to set up the resource development unit and manage the investment cost, scheduling, budgeting, and some of those new initiatives that were supposed to happen in the R&D division. That was why we were looking for a portfolio management product. We found that Project Server could be a way to visualize and govern the entire program for the client.
We primarily use the solution to manage the project lifecycle. Generally the lifestyle starts at demand phase. We design a workflow according to customer's needs. The workflow starts with project ideation and project selection, if the project fits company criteria it will move onto the project management phase. Let's say you have 10 projects and you don't know which ones to move into actual project management phase. Customers use the portfolio and analysis feature of Project Server, and decide which project to do according to capacity planning(if they have the resources) and budget. If the company has enough resources then its the projects with most benefit that gets selected. For the selected projects lifecycle will continue. As it moves forward, you will get more project detail pages, more things to work with. This will also produce some reports as well.
