The main use case is to scan vulnerabilities on our endpoints. We need to make sure that our antivirus software is up to date. We need to ensure that patches on our workstations are up to date and that we can scan through folders and files to detect malware.
Our client uses Endpoint Security at a school for antivirus protection. For example, if someone plugs in a USB on a classroom computer, Endpoint Security protects the network from infection. We have around 35 classrooms and eight teachers per class, so that's about 280 people. The school does not use Endpoint Security to its full potential. The use case is basic. For example, it isn't being used to block stealth techniques. Sophos Firewall handles those kinds of attacks. Active Directory isn't used in the classroom, so the ability to block an AD takeover isn't being used. We haven't eliminated any other security solutions by adopting Endpoint Security, but we are trying to consolidate our solutions by installing a new FortiGate firewall and client licenses of FortiClient.
We primarily use the solution to protect our endpoints from viruses, malware, cyber-attacks, etc. We can use it for virus scanning and as an end-to-end security solution for our machines. The product is installed on a server, which connects it to our workstations and provides an effective overall network security solution. We are spread across geographically diverse locations, with teams in Asia-Pacific and EMEA. We deployed the solution to our servers, with multiple workstations, laptops, notebooks, tablets, and other mobile devices connected to the servers. The solution provides threat scanning on the server level, but we also have it installed on some specific high-value devices.

We use Endpoint Security for security and malware protection. Currently, we have 17 customers using Symantec, and each has different policies. Some customers only use security and malware, but customers use the USB block. The agent controls around 80,000 agents we manage in Symantec Endpoint Protection. Our customers help to create multiple policies during the implementation. Every day, users request that we revise the content policy. If a customer observes any unusual user access, I modify the policy to lock everything down so users cannot move any documents. It is effective for controlling our security. We are using signature-based protection against viruses, Trojan horses, spyware, and other types of malware. That log is stored locally. We collect it for further analysis.

I mainly used this solution for antivirus and firewall protection for PCs. We wanted to use this solution because we needed virus protection. My company was a reseller of this solution. The solution was deployed on-premises. There were a couple of small-scale environments of four to 10 machines. The larger enterprise environments were up to 400 workstations and 120 servers.

Symantec provides an anti-malware solution for our infrastructure, including a host firewall, behavioral analysis, and intrusion prevention. It's an essential compliance component of an enterprise. We have domestic and offshore branch offices, data centers, and headquarters. We initially deployed it to 2,500 workstations and eventually expanded to 3,500.
We have used Symantec for several scenarios depending on a client's requirements. We have used the Symantec solution for host integrity, device control, and communication policies. It has the host integration part where we get the custom option to add certain scripts. Most of the clients have been using it on-prem, but we are now looking into the cloud or SaaS environment because it would be much easier to manage the infrastructure. Our clients have Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure.

We are using Symantec Security for the server and the client. For the server, we are using Symantec Data Center Security (DCS), and for the client, we are using Symantec Endpoint Security. We work with all deployment models. We have cloud and on-premises deployments, and we also have hybrid deployments. The cloud provider varies based on the customer, but mostly, our customers have AWS and Azure.
We are using it for endpoint security and EDR and as an antivirus. We are also using it for threat detection purposes. It is on-prem. We didn't migrate to the cloud.

Symantec End-User Endpoint Security came with our antivirus protection as a package. Additionally, Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager comes with it by default and it is a wonderful tool.
We primarily use the solution to protect our endpoints. There are growing attacks worldwide, and we need to be protected against any eventuality - including malicious attacks or ransomware. We also use the solution to protect endpoints for users that work from home.

The primary reason we use the solution is to protect the device and to be sure there isn't any kind of malware. The device is protected from any kind of malware is the basic level of the solution. We use the control applications to blacklist applications that we don't need to use, and that we have blocked on the Microsoft group policy. We use the antivirus to do the same thing. That way, if the final user tries to install any non-approved software, the antivirus removes or blocks the application.

The use case for the solution was basically this: any computer or anything used for any sort of official business needed to have endpoint protection and needed to have some sort of antivirus protection. The thing was somewhat more than just an antivirus, it also included a firewall that operated in addition to the Windows or Mac firewall. The university policy basically required that all endpoint devices used for official business have to meet certain requirements and one of them was to have an antivirus.

We're a small company, under 50 users. But we deploy Symantec to companies that have from a few hundred to dozens of thousand users, therefore I have extensive experience with the product. We are partners and resellers and I'm a senior professional services engineer.
I have used various types of anti-virus software but I have fallen in love Symantec Endpoint Protection as it eliminated all the problems I used to have. At the University of Zimbabwe, it is now the only antivirus that is used by both students and staff after careful consideration by the University IT department. It provides end-to-end protection for computers and laptops.
