Given the number of alerts and the variety of attacks we get, we will require AI capabilities for threat detection. Around six to seven members were involved with the solution's deployment and maintenance. I wouldn't recommend the solution to other users unless it is updated. Overall, I rate the solution a five out of ten.
First, define your use cases perfectly. Symantec is a license-based product, and if you don't know exactly what your requirements are, you might purchase unnecessary licenses. Overall, I would rate the solution a nine out of ten. Symantec adds a huge security layer to the company. We can protect any endpoint, on or off the network. If someone's working from a coffee shop, for example, they're still protected. It is a huge feature. This reduces risk and improves the company's security posture.

We started with a very old version and eventually upgraded to RU6. Since we had some Windows 7 clients in our organization, we couldn't upgrade to the next versions, RU7 and RU8, because Windows 7 support is not available in those versions. Meanwhile, we started working on upgrading some systems which have specific applications running on them. My previous organization compared different products and decided to use Symantec Endpoint Security because it was very good back then. Symantec was the first one to highlight the 2021 cyber threat. Back then, not many people were familiar with the concept of EDR. After comparing different products, we decided to go with Symantec Endpoint Security because our major concern was application control. We didn't want any user to come, use a USB to copy the data, and leave the organization. Since users don't give us time to upgrade the system, we put the host integrity. If a service pack is not installed on the system, the system will get quarantined. Overall, I rate Symantec Endpoint Security an eight out of ten.
I am working with the latest version of Symantec Endpoint Security. One person is enough for the solution’s maintenance. Overall, I rate Symantec Endpoint Security an eight out of ten.
I usually recommend Symantec Endpoint Security to others. As a partner of Symantec, I recommended Symantec Endpoint Security to others. I got the product's documentation online. I rate the overall product an eight out of ten.
I've not used it on mobile devices, but on workstations, it's awesome. You don't require any other antivirus solution. It's simple to install. It works very well in the Windows environment. You don't need to install anything else. It provides any type of endpoint security, including USB protection. If you have a critical network environment and security is very important to you, you can consider this solution. It can offer you the level of security that you need. It can provide what you are looking for in terms of endpoint protection. It's very good for a small or medium organization. If you have a very large environment, you can consider other alternatives, but for small environments with 50 users, it works very well. For bigger environments, such as airports, we use Cisco AMP. It hasn't as such saved time when responding to issues. Sometimes we have issues where the user isn't able to use the system until we resolve the issue. We have had cases where the issue got resolved immediately, but sometimes, we have had issues that required opening a case with them or intervention from the administrator. Overall, I'd rate this solution an eight out of ten.
I rate Symantec Endpoint Security an eight out of ten. My first piece of advice is not to deploy Endpoint Security on traditional machines because it'll slow it down. India is a price-sensitive market. Many companies won't pay attention to the speed of a hard drive. They'll only look at the size. They would rather go for a 500 GB hard drive, even if it is not required, rather than a 256 GB SSD. If you want to deploy something over and above your operating system's capabilities, you need to have a powerful machine to handle that. Performance is mainly an issue on devices using traditional drives. The performance doesn't deteriorate by more than two percent on an SSD drive, whereas it is more than 15 to 20 percent on an average drive.
I rate the product nine out of ten. We use several of the solution's deployment options; we deploy it in a hybrid cloud and on-prem with some local machines and servers. The product works well, and we didn't have any issues with it; it performs well, which is what we expect from Symantec. Regarding attack and breach prevention for traditional and mobile endpoint devices, the product works well in a traditional environment but consumes many infrastructure resources; it's high on memory and storage requirements. However, in our latest environment, this isn't the case; the solution runs perfectly, and there have been many improvements in this regard. Comparing Symantec's protection, detection, and response versus competing solutions, Symantec's response, and detection are excellent, especially compared to McAfee, Trend Micro, and so on. Symantec has significantly improved the usability and scalability of its security solution, and we are happy to use it. Symantec Endpoint Security reduced the number of solutions we use for endpoint security. However, we already used other Microsoft solutions such as Azure Key Vault, MS Sentinel, Defender for Endpoint, and Azure DDoS. We deployed Symantec because we have some on-prem and hybrid machines and servers, as well as apps running locally which require protection, and that's what it's for. My advice to those evaluating the solution is to go ahead and purchase it; they won't be disappointed. Symantec is a giant in the market space, and their solution provides every security feature necessary to minimize the threat from all kinds of potential attacks.
The most important aspect of a security solution is having good reports, to help understand what's going on. This is one of the main points that a security team should have. Good visibility from the reports and an easy understanding of what's going on. I rate Symantec Endpoint Security a seven out of ten.

I would rate this solution nine out of 10. While I was using it, I had a very favorable opinion of it. For those who are evaluating the solution now, my advice is to find out the reported percentage of ransomware attacks that have not been caught by the system that has been allowed to matriculate through the system or through networks. The biggest lesson I learned from using this solution is that having virus and firewall protection, virus definitions, and updating files, is not adequate protection anymore. There needs to be some AI-type component that is doing real-time analysis worldwide on the emerging threats because a simple virus is not the biggest threat to computers nowadays.

We deployed the product one and a half years ago, and we received training to configure and maintain it. It was recommended that we complete our training in terms of policies, which is something that we also did. Once that was finished, we experienced the stability and good features that the product provides. This is a product that I have recommended for use in another company. I have been told that after they adopted it, they were pleased with the fact it consumes fewer resources than their previous solutions. They manage it from the cloud. Currently, I am referring another company to this product and my understanding is that they're going to implement it. I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.
You should first understand a client's environment in terms of: * What does the client environment look like? * What is the size of the environment? * What are the features they are looking for? * What is the criticality of their environment? All these aspects are important. At times, we have seen that clients just ask for the best solution, but they don't have a vision of what would make a solution best for them and what are they expecting from it. They should summarize their requirements, and accordingly, you can propose how Symantec can meet their requirements. Overall, I would rate it a nine out of ten.

I would strongly recommend this product. It is better than all other antivirus products. It is a brilliant product when it comes to functions or features. There is no doubt about its antivirus capability. It is far better than other products, but they need to focus on its UI. Overall, it is a very good product. I would rate it an eight out of ten.
I would advise using all of its features, such as IPS. These features are very good. I'm using a lot of solutions from Symantec. I am using SEP, and I am also using Blue Coat devices. They provided us with the entire solution design. I would rate Symantec Endpoint Security a nine out of ten. It is a nice product.

We're a customer and an end-user. I'm a client guy, I'm not the security team that inspects the end product. My team deploys it and we have a configuration manager that makes sure it's deployed correctly. We have staging processes around Windows 10 and policies, et cetera, however, as far as inspecting it, that's not up to us. It's not our mandate. It's the security team that makes the decisions about the products we use. While our current version is on-prem, everything's going to the cloud. If we stay with it, maybe that is something we're looking at, however, we have a lot of different security products on our machine and we have applications that our customers use. Hopefully, they're going to decide to get something that combines the five or six other apps that we have that are doing various things beyond slowing our machine down. I'm not sure if we are on the latest version of the solution. My main issue with the product is that I just can't stand the way they force you to upgrade the product instead of putting a simple patch on it. I'd rate the solution at a seven out of ten.
We are customers and end-users. We use various versions of the solution, according to which Windows versions we are using. What we would really like is a solution that could really put all of our security under one pane of glass, which Symantec doesn't really do at this time. Our concern is having a solution that can keep up with the shifting landscape, as malicious activity is on the rise. We need a solution that is holistic in nature and can help us work with our other in-house solutions and other products writ large. Also, the company seems to not be very responsive to queries. The resellers are becoming more vocal on these concerns as well. For this reason, we are considering just switching it out altogether. I'd rate the solution at an eight out of ten. It's a good solution for endpoint protection, however, we worry about the lack of support and response from the company.

There are around 5,000 users in our organization who are making use of the solution. This solution is only recommended in the initial phases for an organization which is just starting out. But, considering the current threat landscape, I do not recommend signature-based antivirus for any organization.
We are Symantec integrators. I'd rate the solution at an eight out of ten. So far, we've been pleased with its capabilities for the most part. I'd recommend the solution to other users and companies. We already recommend it to our clients.
We are a reseller. We are using Symantec Endpoint Security and we're using Symantec Endpoint Encryption. We have it implemented on-premises. I'd advise other companies to consider the solution. It's necessary. If you have a good team of specialists around you, it's a good option. The most important thing is to have someone to help you, especially if all of your users are working regularly from different places, with different issues, with different connections through your infrastructure. If you don't have the skills, or you don't have good advisers or good technicians to help you, you are lost. I'd rate the solution at a seven out of ten.

We're just a customer and end-user. I'm finding that, in Brazil, Symantec's services need to be closer to the customer and the antivirus itself is not enough for an IT department to keep the company safe. It can't just protect user data. It needs to go further and protect all of the company's devices and software. I can have the best antivirus software, however, we find that if our Windows disk is not updated or has a security branch, something can attack the security branch in the Windows and sometimes it's a virus software. That's why Windows needs to work more closely with this product - or any antivirus. In general, I would rate the solution at an eight out of ten.

This is a good product and other than with reporting, we don't have any issues with it. I would recommend it to others based on this. There is also the issue of cost, as it is now much higher after it was acquired by Broadcom. We are thinking about moving to the cloud, but this will require an enterprise license and it costs more when compared to the current trend in the market. This is one of the reasons that we are looking for another vendor. I would rate this solution a seven out of ten.

The solution is a kind of a mix between an on-premise managed server that managing some machines, and other machines just had an unmanaged client that was distributed to students. It's not actually a cloud, it's a server. It's an on-premises server. It's not a cloud-based server that is being used. The antiviruses report to the server and policies can be set on the server. I'd advise users to be aware that there are better solutions out there than this. I've learned that technology can change and your solution may be great now, but in a few years, it may drop to the bottom of the barrel. That's what happened here. I'd rate the solution one out of ten. In order to get any sort of higher rating, they would need to start it over again from scratch. Instead of trying to make a legacy product better, they should abandon it and invent a new product.

It's like any enterprise solution, it needs to be done professionally. People complain about Symantec, claiming it's messed up their system but I've deployed it to hundreds of places of all sizes and have had few issues. The problems are self-induced because the people deploying didn't know what they were doing, and didn't understand the solution. They didn't do the pilot, they didn't do the best practices. And so something happened, messed up the system, and created problems, and they blamed the product. This remains a very viable solution. There's a lot of sexier stuff out there, but Symantec brings a lot to the table with their introduction of AI and the latest technologies. They continue to be a well-designed system that just works. I would rate this solution a nine out of 10.

The honest advice I would have for someone considering this solution at this point in time is to move on. I say this because Symantec is being bought out by Broadcom. That may not be a bad thing on its own. Symantec has traditionally been a very good company and still was up to this point. But being bought by another company just means that there will be a mess because of the transition and integration between these companies and products. Developers of the product will be spending time focusing on that merger rather than core product issues. It creates a little bit of a mess that the client should not have to suffer through when there are other capable solutions. Another thing is that Symantec still needs to implement some features that it does not have. They have very good, strong protection, but they are behind other products on the market. There are a lot of more features they have failed to implement. Especially now when everyone is working remotely and with cloud products, the security does not seem complete. Maybe the cloud version addresses these issues. I have not used the cloud version because I am on the enterprise version and like in-house deployment. Our version is missing a ton of features that are very important to security especially in the current environment. On a scale from one to ten where one is the worst and ten is the best, I would rate Symantec End-User Endpoint Security as a seven-out-of-ten. It is missing too much to be rated higher.
We're just a Symantec customer. We aren't a partner or reseller. We're currently using the latest version of the solution. Overall, we're pretty happy with the product. I would tell other organizations considering implementing it that it's a great tool. My concern again would be if Broadcom doesn't really invest in the product's success. Often companies will buy out their competitors and/or they'll buy out a product line thinking that they want to get into that field. Then they turn around and they dump the product line after a year or two and decide, "Well, I guess we don't want to go this way," or they are just buying it out to get rid of the competition. My concern lies in the new company failing to come through on updates or the delivery of the service. It remains to be seen whether they're going to fail, or whether they're going to continue to support the product and keep it as a high-end solution. So far I've been very happy with them. I would rate them overall as fairly high, maybe a nine out of ten. The only thing that worries me as a user is whether or not Broadcom is going to continue to support them going forward.

Within the last three or four months, we decided to drop Symantec on its own because of some issues we have with the company. We will be using Sophos. Symantec sold off their enterprise solutions, which this product falls into. When they sold it. they sold it to a company that has purchased software packages in the past and not done very well with it. They are a hardware company trying to expand into the software realm. This is another example of a hardware company that thinks that they can do software and they can't. We were told that Broadcom was ignoring all of their customers that were below a certain level of license purchases. Some of the customers were calling wanting to renew their product and they were having to wait a month or six weeks just to get a quote. We did our own research and confirmed that what we were told was true and decided that we were not going to renew and went to Sophos. If you are going with Symantec, definitely purchase the 24/7 tech support. They will help you with just about everything, or at least they used to. I am not sure if that still applies to Broadcom. They now offer the option to put it into the cloud for the management capabilities. That way the endpoints, the individual laptops, and desktop computers are actually going to a website to get the management, the new definitions, and new configurations. This option should seriously be considered. I am not recommending that they do that but they should at least seriously consider it, because, while having that one server to do that one thing is fairly important, it would be nice to not have to deal with it. For what we were using this product for it was pretty good, but there were some things that we didn't like, and some things that we would have like to take advantage of. I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

I would rate it a two out of ten because I think it is outdated, ancient, lacking the features that the current solutions have. And unfortunately, I think it's being passed around so much that Symantec's now Broadcom, that nobody's given it any of the attention or the love that it needs to keep it a viable solution. Ultimately, I think it's going to die.

I don't think there's really any issues rolling it out, it's more in the reporting. The one time we had an issue was with knowing a true endpoint count and the reporting. There was a conflict with what was in the console, I think it was a glitch. In the next release, I would like to see any of the features that the next generation antivirus and GAV products have, like the heuristical, the behavioral analysis. Because it will set the behavior of the endpoint and that's how it identifies something that is not normal to your pattern of working. I will give it a seven out of ten because it's a great product at what it does, but it's lacking the advanced malware detection capabilities.

In my personal experience, most people use Symantec. In my whole life, I couldn't find any problems with Symantec. In the ransomware protection, though, I found many issues. Many people were having infections but the virus sometimes was not detected. Even the Kaspersky software could not detect it, but if I install Symantec on any client I couldn't find the ransomware. The problem is Symantec is more expensive than other vendors. Kaspersky is in comparison very cheap. If you are working in an organization and you have 10,000 users, if you compare Symantec with the other vendors you will find only a small difference in the price. I always tell people if you have a budget, if you have money, if you need stability, go with Symantec. If you think that your data is sensitive, you can not worry about the money. On a scale from one to ten, I would rate Symantec Endpoint Protection a nine.

I've been using this solution for more than twenty years. While Endpoint Protection has only existed for the past couple of years, the Symantec antivirus, I have been working with more than twenty years. It used to be Symantec antivirus and then it changed a couple of years ago to Symantec Endpoint Protection. So, we've been using it obviously since its inception. In terms of advice to others, I would say to partner with somebody that actually knows how the product is implemented and configured. Get a partner that has the technical knowledge and can give onsite technical guidance, or support. All of these Endpoint Protection solutions are getting very complex. It's not a simple antivirus that you just simply deploy to get a few viruses. It is becoming a very complex thing to implement. People buy the products, and they don't know how to implement them, so they go and slap them there and then they get burnt and they get attacked by a virus or threat or something. They get their fingers burnt and then they say the product is rubbish, but it's not the product, it's that the product was not correctly configured. So, when buying a product, you need to partner with someone who can actually provide you with support on the product. They're one of my favorite products and we're actively working with Kaspersky, McAfee, Sophos, ESET, and Sophos. Palo Alto is my favorite firewall. But on the antivirus or Endpoint Protection side, I have the greatest of confidence in Symantec. It's something I would use at home or in the business. That's what we use to protect the business, so it's probably the product I have the most confidence in. I would rate this solution ten out of ten.
I don't know what exactly could be inside the product to make it much more powerful. What I was looking for specifically at that time was the encryption part and the DLP and they were doing great. Simply put, it is the one product that's an integrated holistic solution for the whole security suite for an endpoint. However, there is no such thing as a one hundred percent security solution. I would rate the solution an eight out of ten.
I would advise anyone to make sure they do their required reading before they implement. Before implementation, you need to do the reading on the best practices because obviously if you've got a larger implementation then you need to think about a few concerns. You need to think about resilient managing services as well. Also, before purchasing, do the due diligence and look at alternative products to see if there's something else that would suit your needs better. This solution is a bit cumbersome. Some of the things they can make them easier to do, and also because their website is a bit clunky, so makes it difficult to find the solutions you need. I would rate this solution as an eight out of ten.

We are using a pretty old solution for Symantec, so I would say the product is not quite up to date with new threats. Look for a new model of the solution. There is a new version, for example, that we don't use yet. Or you can look for a better solution for current threats. I would rate this solution seven out of 10.

My advice for anybody implementing this solution is to consider the rules that you want to define. Installation is straightforward, but you can make it simple, or you can make it pretty complex. For example, you can set up specific groups for in-house or external users. You can also install clients that only touch base occasionally, such as logging into the internal environment once per year. It can also be used on Virtual Machines, where the client's resources are limited or restricted. In a hosted environment, it does not have to be installed on the individual VMs. It can run on the host and it will scan everything. There is also a cloud version of this product out now, which covers people who are more cloud-based. So far, I find that this product works pretty good. I would rate this solution a nine out of ten.
Symantec Endpoint Protection is designed for maximum efficiency, enabling hardware to run faster and last longer for performance, and runs on several operating systems, including Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. The complete suite is a good fit for medium-sized businesses seeking a more comprehensive range of protection. Symantec's Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition earns high marks from AV-TEST for protection and usability. However, this antivirus software doesn't scan email, a vulnerability in today's digital age. It might be the best choice for antivirus protection for your small business but that depends on the features and functions most important for your business and your security. just make sure thats you are always update and you have the latest release. This is very good product. My advice is to calculate your needs. Make a decision based on an accurate assessment of the price, the licensing, and the support. When I choose a product, I look for stability, security, and safety.
Symantec Endpoint Security is a robust and reliable product that provides complete protection against viruses, malware, Trojans, and malicious files. It offers application and device control, ease of use in deploying and updating, a central control console, stability, scalability, auto-discovery capabilities, patch management, endpoint detection and response capabilities, intrusion detection module.
The Symantec Global Intelligence Network (GIN) provides threat intelligence and...
My organization is small, and we don't use other security tools. I rate Symantec Endpoint Security a seven out of ten.
I rate Symantec Endpoint Security a seven out of ten.
I rate Symantec Endpoint Security a 10 out of 10.
I would rate this solution nine out of ten.
I rate Symantec Endpoint Security seven out of ten. I would recommend this product for securing endpoints. Hopefully, their support will improve.
I would 100% recommend it. I would rate it a ten out of ten.
I recommend this product and would rate it a nine out of ten.
We are phasing out the use of Symantec End-User Endpoint Security in my company and we only have a small number of systems using it at this time. We plan to switch to Cisco Secure Endpoint. I rate Symantec End-User Endpoint Security a seven out of ten.
I would recommend this solution to others. I rate Symantec End-User Endpoint Security a ten out of ten.
I would rate Symantec End-User Endpoint Security an eight out of 10. We haven't had any problems with it. It just works.
I would not recommend this solution because of the new changed that they have made since the division of the company. The support has gone to Accenture and their product to Broadcom. It is a big change for the AV industry. I rate Symantec End-User Endpoint Security a six out of ten.
Symantec was bought recently by Broadcom and this could be a reason some might not want to purchase the solution because of their background. However, this solution is popular and competitive with other solutions, such as McAfee or Kaspersky. I rate Symantec End-User Endpoint Security a seven out of ten.
I rate Symantec End-User Endpoint Security an eight out of ten.
I rate Symantec End-User Endpoint Security a four out of ten.
If you are looking for regular endpoint security, you can count on Symantec, but if you're looking for more advanced security or have advanced requirements, or if you have a big company that has different security products in place, you might as well look for another one. I could suggest Symantec if your security appetite is not that big. I would rate Symantec End-User Endpoint Security a seven out of ten.
I would rate Symantec End-User Endpoint Security an eight out of ten.
We are a customer as well as an end-user. We don't have a professional or business relationship with the company. We only ever use the latest version of the solution. I'm not sure what version number we are on right now, however. I would rate the solution at a seven out of ten.
Symantec is not the only endpoint security solution that we actually have experience with but I would recommend it. I think it's one of the best solutions currently on the market. I rate this solution an eight out of ten.
We recommend this solution to others who are interested in using it. In some organizations, it is compulsory to use Symantec. I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.
I rate this product an eight out of 10.
I would recommend this solution to others. It is a stable product. I would keep on using it unless my company decides otherwise. I would rate Symantec End-User Endpoint Security a ten out of ten.
I will continue to use this product and definitely recommend it to other users.
This is a product that I would recommend, but only in the case that the support improves. I have spoken with friends of mine who are in the same position and not getting the proper support. In summary, this is a good product and the only major challenge is that we are no longer getting the proper support. I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.
I'd recommend the solution. I'd rate it at an eight out of ten.
If you're interested in integration with network Symantec solutions, Symantec web solutions, and Symantec cloud solutions, informed protection is the right solution. I would recommend this solution for anyone who's looking for that level of enterprise integration. Overall, on a scale from one to ten, I would give this solution a rating of eight.
Symantec Endpoint Protection is very straightforward to implement. The installation of the septum server on-prem is very straightforward, and you can push the radio to your endpoints almost instantly. On a scale from one to ten, I would give Symantec Endpoint Protection a six.
I do not recommend the solution because we are using a different one currently. I rate Symantec End-user Endpoint Security a seven out of ten.
I would recommend this product because it is lightweight and consumes fewer resources. We are satisfied with this product. I would rate Symantec End-user Endpoint Security a seven out of ten.
I would not recommend this solution because of the security concerns and the lack of features that other vendors are providing. Technology is growing day by day, and a lot of other solutions are providing patching for vulnerabilities and other stuff. We are going to move to some other vendor and use the endpoint detection and response (EDR) technology. I would rate Symantec End-user Endpoint Security a six out of ten.
I'd recommend the solution. If the company finds that Symantec fits their requirements, they should choose it. The product offers a lot of great features. Overall, I'd rate the solution six out of ten. If they had a way to easily uninstall the product and if we could figure out why it suddenly stops working occasionally, I'd rate it a bit higher.
The most important thing is the cloud management. I would like to see behavior analysis. These two things will be most valuable to the user. I would rate it a seven out of ten.
It's a great product at what it does, but it's lacking the advanced malware detection capabilities. I would rate this solution a seven out of ten.
My recommendation is that people should try this product. In using this solution, I have learned a lot about our security and what needs to be done. I would rate this solution a seven out of ten.
I think it's a very good solution for sales networks. I have wanted to try the cloud solution for Symantec but I don't know if it has been already added or not. I would rate the solution an eight out of ten.
I would rate this solution four and a half out of ten.
