The product’s AI implementation feature could be better for learning user behavior. There could be a feature to detect unsecured devices in the network similar to its older version. We need additional agents for it at present.

I saw a bunch of false positives which need to be fixed. They were not detailed. These false positives were not happening with other products which I saw. These false positives shouldn't even be there. They need to take a look at why they were happening and resolve the issue. There may be some configuration changes required, depending on the use case. The pricing could always be better. Easier functionality would be better. I'd like to see fewer add-ons and a more basic solution under a single product. Right now, everybody shows EDR as a separate thing.

There is no such thing as a 100% secure system. That said, the main problems are coming from the users and how they use the system, including how they open emails, go to the internet, et cetera. Maybe if they have a firewall system paired with ESET, so there are not as many concerns around the security of the WAN, that would be better. We hope that they can learn from and react to threats faster so that we are more protected in the future as new items arise. They need to update the system faster to ensure security is there in the case of new events. When users renew licenses, they should offer a discount.

They should focus more on the offline market as well. Everybody is connected nowadays, and they want to do everything via cloud or fast internet connections, however, that's still not possible in many situations. The API integration with our system should be better.

The speed of response of technical support could be faster. In business, everything happens really quickly, and we need them to be able to keep up. The interface is good. However, it could always be better. It could be more user-friendly.
In terms of areas for improvement, I didn't see any from ESET Endpoint Security because what's important is that it works as an antivirus solution. I do find its pricing expensive here in Hungary, so if the price could be lower, that would be good. ESET Endpoint Security is an antivirus, so it only needs to stop the virus. If it had other features, I wouldn't need it. Every program or solution has specific functions and in this case, ESET Endpoint Security is worth it as an antivirus, though in the next release of the solution, it would be better if there's some improvement in its antivirus database.
ESET Endpoint Security lacks some advanced functionalities and features which would be useful to be interconnected with the solutions we use, such as Microsoft 365.
When we rule a scanner process on the heart risk, it is very slow and overloads the machine. It would be beneficial if we could run a back process. I would like to see more listings added in the next release of ESET Endpoint. The new versions only support no operative systems in Mac and do not support operative systems.

I'm not the person who can suggest some improvements. I haven't covered all of ESET as it is big. I haven't used it all. I'm just touching the surface of it and therefore can't tell how good it is. So far, it's good. That said, I haven't looked at 50% of it. It can be hard to set up if you need to customize it. Maintenance can take a while.

The detection could be better in ESET Endpoint Security. Sometimes it takes time to detect threats and might be because it's not holding all the memory. There are some features that have to mature. More features might be available in the higher-end product. The cloud version of the solution could improve.
ESET's updates are mostly manual. That's my biggest concern. I'd like it to be more automatic. I've had to download the new version and run it manually to install it. I've got several workstations like that right now. All security solutions seem to update automatically these days. I think there are good technical reasons for that.
I would like for the solution to be simpler to understand. While it satisfies our needs at the moment, it is really only understandable to those with a strong computer background. It could be more user-friendly. The solution should provide a basic standard and give instructions on how one could go about doing more complex tasks. When it comes to basic capabilities, it is fine and straightforward, so I have no complaint in this regard. The solution could be more cost-effective, but this is a blanket statement which can be made about anything.
They recently released an EDR integration. I hope they have more AI or intelligence filtering on the EDR events. Even though it has already got AI, but it is quite a different thing. So, they still have room to improve on the EDR part. This is one small piece that they need to improve. Otherwise, it is just fine.

I have not found the solution to be very helpful in providing endpoint security. As analysts, we need to do things fast. We rely on automation and on scripts, but I find this lacking in the solution. The solution lacks the automation I need. For example, should I wish to create a dynamic group, it won't appear.

While we see dangers within our security system, it would help if there were popups that could immediately alert us or the user of the endpoint that something was detected. That way, you have an immediate warning and have to think about if you want to continue what you are doing or not. Right now, it's too slow to react, rather, allows us to react too slowly. The performance could be better.

It may be a bit early to tell if there is anything lacking. I'm still getting myself oriented... We're using it for some of its basic features. However, as we get to use it and understand its broader feature-set and experience, there might be more to comment on in terms of improvement requests. It would be ideal if it could detect threats sooner. The integration capabilities might be lacking a bit. We were expecting it to be a bit more robust.
I am a MAC user and my ESET cybersecurity is continuously displaying warnings that I am not using their firewall. I don't want to use their firewall because I am using the MAC firewall. It's annoying to constantly see the triangle with an exclamation mark to warn me. I don't want to see this warning, I am aware of the warning and decided not to use it. It would be nice if there was a way to hide this notification or if there was a way to not show it at all.

We are looking to move towards an EDR solution rather than EPP. EDR is a solution that can dynamically detect threats based on the process behavior. It would be better if this solution was an EDR and an EPP solution, this would increase security protection. The solution is on-premise and many of our agents if they are out of the network, can hardly communicate.
There are some new antivirus technologies that rely on AI, artificial intelligence. ESET does not have this technology right now. Maybe it's going to. It would be ideal if they followed the lead of other products and added AI into their service offering in the future. Adding AI would allow them to add extra security and to have more intelligent protection services.

There was actually a feature that we were looking for but we realized that it was actually the version that we had. We had ESET Antivirus and there was another one that offers the content version, which wasn't available for us, however, they made it an upgrade to have that feature anyways. It would be nice if it was simply included. In terms of what is lacking in ESET, it really would need more features for the users when they are working outside of the corporate network. That's a feature we actually have in force there. They have the ESET Cloud and the feature of the ESET Cloud, whereby the policies are actually pushed from the Cloud server anywhere they are. Where they are, the staff can read their information. However, currently, I have to push it to a spot on the corporate network, where they'll have a VPN to get back to the server. That is kind of bad. We actually want a hybrid, a mixed solution, whereby you have your policies locally but then, through a subscription with ESET, you can have those policies pushed to the Cloud. In the configuration, it would be ideal to have a primary location for them to go to. That way, locally, once they are connected to this network, they can use our local server. We're on the network and it cannot detect the primary server. It actually uses the Cloud, which should be a second option within the configuration. Our policies that get replicated to the Cloud from on-premise would still need to play a significant role on the user's workstation. If there's an incident or any malware detected on the endpoint when the user is remote when they are away from us if it could actually still use that router and report back to us and send the alerts back to the ESET Cloud, that would be great. That was one of the things we were looking for but we haven't found that. With ESET deployment there is an appliance. It's a virtual appliance, a network appliance. We had some difficulties when I tried to get that virtual appliance to utilize our internal certificate authority. Try as we might, we didn't find any documentation. We couldn't find any help. I contacted the company and requested some documents that weren't really useful. We had to switch back to a Windows-based solution and then we were able to go ahead and use custom certificates. The problem is the documentation from ESET regarding custom certificates based on Windows. They need to clarify that
We are constantly facing new threats and if ESET could incorporate an implementable feature that wouldn't require us to buy an additional product to protect the endpoint, that would be very good.

Sometimes, ESET sends alerts within my own network that cause confusion. That is, it might warn about contamination, or that the VM has crashed, but it doesn't go further than that. It just shows me the alert and sometimes I am not sure what to do about it. Regarding email security, I would like something more when it comes to preventing phishing attacks. With some of the emails I've received, I have found things that made me refuse to open them, but ESET does not seem to notice. I think that I should be better advised of problematic situations concerning potential phishing emails. In general, I also think that there could be more in the way of advanced threat detection, for identifying advanced malware and the like. Having an extra service that could detect more advanced malware than typical antivirus software does may be very expensive to have on my entire premises, but I would consider it. Then, when it comes to the smart TV and the printer, I can't really figure out what's happening when there's a problem. For example, it's difficult to find out whether the appliance has been attacked or not, and it's not so easy to see what is actually going on in the case of a malicious situation.
ESET Endpoint Security should offer more integration with multi-attack frameworks. This is very important for large corporate businesses as it would provide protection against hackers, data breaches, etc.
In the future, a cloud version of the solution would be great. The interface is too complicated, our clients contact us because they are not able to do some tasks such as updating. In addition, updating the toolkit and detection feature would be advantageous.

The use of SQL Server can be improved. At times, there is a bit of challenge while linking it with the Javascript. ESET Endpoint Security requires modern technology or modern equipment on site. You will find it difficult to use ESET Endpoint Security with dual-core machines. If they can add the cloud management feature to their product, it will be much easier. If you look at this COVID situation that we are in right now, people are working from home, so you need to control the computers wherever you are. For example, if you are using any email setup and you are hosting it on your own, all the email traffic will be going through the same network. You need to protect all of your computers from the attack. It is best if you can do it remotely rather than having an IT person to come onsite to manage all computers and metrics etc, which isn't a smart way to do it.
The product could be improved by having better integration with other services. Specifically, it would be good if they had better integration with Kaspersky and Nvidia (Next Version Envy and Vision). It is also possible that they could be a little more aggressive with malware.
The IPS (Intrusion Prevention System) Firewall is not available. The solution includes only Intrusion Detection and not IPS, which is an important feature that is missing in my version. In the next release, I would like to see the IPS Firewall included, as well as the VPN porting and Intelligence services. I would also like to see end-user behavior and not just antivirus.
The solution should offer more security surrounding blacklisted websites. It would be good if they had some sort of solution or feature that helped deal with files infected by ransomware which could be detected by the user.

The initial setup needs improvement because you have to create quite a few policies, and sometimes it misses machines when it comes to discovery. This means that you have to manually deploy on some. Seamless discovery of endpoints would be an improvement. Technical support can be improved. I would like to see better deployment features in the next release. If they had an agentless version, where for example it is integrated with Active Directory and there is no agent, then that would be an improvement. I don't know if it is possible, but you just discover the machines, deploy the software, and that's it. It would save a lot of time when it comes to installing the agents, especially if you have, for example, one thousand machines. It is for this reason that I would not recommend ESET on a larger scale.
ESET Endpoint Security does not have application control. ESET should consider giving it application control. Also, it needs to improve the temper protection and provide more detection capabilities (e.g., more behaviour base).

ESET Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) is a cybersecurity solution designed to protect businesses of all sizes against a wide array of cyber threats. Its advanced technologies and user-friendly interface provide robust security for endpoint devices, such as desktops, laptops, and mobile devices, without compromising performance. ESET's approach combines multiple layers of protection, including traditional signature-based detection with advanced heuristic analysis, behavioral monitoring, and...
