The tool's cost is an area of concern where improvements are required. Though the tool's cost is reasonable, it could be made a bit cheaper so that more people can utilize its services, especially by SMEs, where the price of the tool may seem a bit high.
Analytics could be much better. The solution must provide a lot of options so that the analytics dashboard looks much better. The vendor must bring in more analytics features. Currently, the analytics features are decent but not great. The production modules and HR components must be improved. Production planning and detailed warehouse management features must be improved. While migrating to AWS, we faced certain issues with the API integration and the configuration of the add-ons. We thought changes wouldn't be required, but some changes were required. We also faced some challenges with the compatibility of the patches. The additional functionalities must be more flexible and scalable.
There are limitations of SAP Business One. It's a complex topic, and exploring options like SAP HANA is challenging at the moment. Understanding the limitations of ERP requires thorough research. I suggest conducting some preliminary investigations into ERP products before making a decision. We chose SAP Business One as it caters to SMEs like ours, acknowledging and accepting its limitations. While a larger product exists, switching would entail budget considerations due to the ongoing implementations. Therefore, the current situation with SAP Business One is not a matter of concern.

There are a couple of significant challenges we're currently facing. First, our production team can't make use of the production planning features, as they require a Professional license and we only have access to the Logistics license, which is limiting our capabilities. The majority of the reports we generate are intended for managerial purposes. While most reports are straightforward to comprehend, there are a few exceptions that can be quite complex. It would be beneficial to have access to real-time data from our machines. This is crucial for monitoring all activities within our manufacturing processes, from software operations to the machinery used.
I haven't yet seen the cost-benefit of being on AWS. I'm not able to compare the monthly costs, so the pricing could be improved. I would like to achieve better integration with AWS so that it becomes more interconnected with the SAP system. If a company already has an existing HRMS system and another inventory system, integration between one on-premise and the other on AWS might pose difficulties. Integrating one system on the cloud and another on-premise seems challenging, and I can't imagine how it would work seamlessly. Perhaps it could be possible if both systems were migrated to the cloud. For example, if they move the HRMS to the cloud and ensure that the two systems can integrate with each other in the cloud. I would like to have additional party modules available with SAP Business One. If additional accounts are available, customers can also subscribe to other supplementary products alongside SAP Business One, thus creating a package.
It would be better if the solution was on a cloud infrastructure. The deployment should be made available in the cloud infrastructure. In short, the tool should be available in the cloud-native. The solution needs to be more scalable.
The warehouse management system requires further improvement. Right now, there is no built-in application for using barcodes or QR codes by the warehouse or operational teams. Customers often rely on third-party add-ons for such features. There should be a mobile-based handheld application, especially for the warehouse team or the operational team, to use barcode-based or QR-based scanning. In additional features, it would be great if the mobile application supported barcode and QR code usage. If this feature is available, it would be very useful.
Well, we have made some improvements like making new rules or new fields that we need for our business process. Overall, though, the processes that already exist in the tool have been very useful for us and we have been using them the way that they are and just making little customizations for our company. Adding an HR feature would be great. SAP has another model that is only HR, but it works separately more for big companies instead of ones like ours that use Business One. If we could have something to manage HR stock, that would be great. I would also be interested in a model that would manage travel expenses. The solution has a feature that shows you the purchase order that you put on a project and requires you to approve it to be applied to the project, but it doesn't let you move the purchase order to another project. That would be a great feature to have, because if you don't approve it, you have to delete everything and make it again, instead of just moving that purchase order to a different project. That would be really useful for us, because our company works by project, so if a purchase order is on an incorrect project, we have to delete everything and then start the process again with the new project.

I would like SAP to replace Business One's fixed Web client with a native Web solution. Right now, their remote access is based on RVP. We have to access the solution through a Windows-based client. It's not a native Web interface.

The look-and-feel of the system is quite outdated as compared to a lot of other products out there. They are more user-friendly, I would say. As someone who has not used accounting products before, they might find it quite overwhelming. It should be more user-friendly.
The browser access needs to improve, as everybody in the industry knows how limited it is. Everybody is excited for the next version to come out with the web-based client. I would like to see a full Linux version available in the future.
Presently the vendor that is deploying it has lots of challenges. They are implementing it now, but we've not really signed it up. The challenge we are currently facing is that we are trying to integrate it with an SSL, or adding the SSL certificate. That is proving to be quite a challenge. That's mapping the private IP address with the public IP address. I feel that these vendors must be well trained so that they can deploy this solution. The challenge is that they know the internal configuration, but they don't know how to configure it on a server. I don't think they have good knowledge of server security. What we are basically using it for, is as an accounting package. So the vendors need to have a very good understanding of accounting and balancing accounts. They are not well-grounded.

The interface needs to be improved. It needs to be more user-friendly. In future releases, the solution should offer more flexible UI and more analytics.
Small businesses can now access all the benefits of the SAP Business One solution on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud without needing to make long-term commitments or costly capital expenditures for the required IT infrastructure.
AWS and SAP have worked together to test and certify the SAP Business One solution on the AWS cloud. Both SAP Business One, version for Microsoft SQL Server and SAP Business One, version for SAP HANA have been certified on the AWS cloud platform.
