If you're looking for a very innovative data center convergence 3.0 solution, I would suggest the following two vendors:
-Simplivity
-Nutanix
They have developed platforms which integrates CPU-Hypervisor-SSD-HDD, in two RU tall box, with redundant power supply, integrated graphical controller (which on Simplivity is totally integrated with V.Center).
Hypervisor is now capable to see the storage as direct attached, with extremely high efficiency, no more external storage and Lun-Zoning "mambo jambo."
These platforms include Dedupe/Compression/Wan acceleration/Federation (on Simplivity those feature are performed on dedicated HW.)
Keep an eye on that, we started selling the above solution in Italy and at the very first approach customers are very satisfied by performance and costs.
