@Thomas Naylor, I don't think it is because they are reducing service offerings, maybe is because being that good and doing so many functions that provoke the PC goes really, but really slow, that happens with a lot of different brands.
That's why I never offer an antivirus solution, yet one already has Windows, because so far it is good enough if they only need "an Antivirus". So keep Windows but use a UTM solution for everything else.
The need for a different antivirus so far is a result of a bad comparison between the old versions of Windows than the newer version, we are really used to saying Windows is a bad antivirus, which it is not (not now), now you can mix Windows with other solutions for other functions.
Good luck

Hey, have you looked at Deep Instinct? It works on prevention first so in my opinion it is much more secure however it could need more tweaking to allow legitimate items. Also, the client does not need to continually update so for offline devices this could be perfect. Check it out.

Both Sophos and Bitdefender are reputable antivirus solutions that offer strong protection against malware and other threats. While Bitdefender is often ranked higher than Sophos in endpoint protection tests, such as the one conducted by AV-TEST, it's important to consider your specific needs when choosing an antivirus solution.
If you need to protect "windows-based offline platforms," such as systems that are not connected to the internet or are otherwise isolated, you may want to consider using Sophos in conjunction with their line of firewalls. The combination of Sophos antivirus and firewall can provide better protection for your network and endpoints.
It's worth noting that if you don't have servers on-premises, you may not need the additional protection offered by a firewall. In that case, Bitdefender may be a suitable choice for your organization's endpoint protection needs.
Worth also considering options such as Malwarebytes, ESET, Trend Micro, and others. Sophos has been losing market share - which may be indicative of reduced service offering competitiveness.
Sophos UTM is a unified threat management platform designed to protect your businesses from known and emerging malware including viruses, rootkits and spyware. The solution provides a complete network security package with everything your organization needs in a single modular appliance.
