The cost of the license depends on the size of the firewall appliance. There is a huge variety of pricing models. Sophos UTM has very reasonable pricing.

Price-wise, you get the bang for your buck. You get a huge value set. Ask for HA, high availability, since a lot of Sophos resellers sell two firewalls, the second one being free. Then, you only pay for one license. If your first firewall fails, the license migrates to the second one.

The solution's pricing is based on a licensing model and is competitive. The solution was 20,000 Rial about five years ago. I rate pricing a ten out of ten.

When compared to Trend Micro, the price is currently competitive. The pricing is nearly the same. Implying that each endpoint costs approximately one million rupees. It will cost approximately $67 US per device. We have 300 devices in our organization. I would rate the pricing a three out of five. The price could be improved. In my opinion, we could get a discount. We have already contacted Asia Pacific sellers, and they have agreed to keep the reduced price if we upgrade in March 2023.
The cost could be considered reasonable based on other plans. However, when I was looking at when you renew our licenses, the pricing is a little bit weird. When you renew your license, the licenses are at the cost of buying a new device in your plan. I haven't renewed yet. However, I would need to figure out that aspect. I can't recall the exact costs of the product as it's been a while since we originally licensed it. Compared to Juniper, the difference is the pricing. It's more affordable than Cisco or Juniper, actually.
Licensing can be purchased for one, two, or three years but I'm unaware of the cost. The solution can be downloaded for free if it's for home use which is a good way of testing before implementation.

There was an up-front charge of around $70,000, to purchase the hub and license. Beyond the initial cost, licenses are charged for annually, but they are good value for the service we receive.
Sophos UTM isn't cheap. It's in the middle, so not the cheapest, but not the most expensive. It's average. If you buy the full suite, you don't need to pay for add-ons, but if you buy some partial products, you have to pay to deploy more features.
Having a cloud option is a real cost saving. In terms of licensing, we pay on yearly basis. From there, what happens, in the last month, we request a quotation for renewal, and then from there we just pay through the local reseller. We're thinking of maybe dealing with the supplier, the manufacturer, directly, however, right now, we're still using the local supplier for licensing and payments.

Although Sophos UTM is a good product, other products have more flexibility with their pricing. It is a very fine product, but when someone wants more relaxed pricing or more leverage in pricing, Sophos is more rigid. For example, Kaspersky is successful in Fintechs because of its services, plus they offer flexible pricing to their end users. It's a comparative advantage here in Pakistan because Pakistan is a very price-conscious market. This is the reason why every time we pitch, we have to pitch more than one product here in Pakistan. They spend their money on SIEM and other kinds of security firewall, but for endpoint solutions, they say any low-budget product could easily be implemented. Most of the customers here in Pakistan like it this way.
The licensing costs for Sophos are reasonable. It's clear to me that there are no full solutions, you can't win it all, and the cost is always an issue. We're on the winning side with Sophos in that respect. We renew our license every three years.

The solution is very low cost compared to competitors. You have a good firewall, a lot of functions for less than the price of some omni firewall competitors.
In terms of licensing, here in the Philippines, we just pay on a yearly basis. The renewal is up for this year in Q3. We are talking now with the distributor where we purchased the hardware for a possible renewal with the client. Overall, they provide very reasonable pricing.

We've found the solution to be cost-effective overall. Normally we do a three-year license with maintenance on a firewall. Beyond the standard maintenance fee, the solution doesn't require any other licensing costs.

This product is free for home users. There is a limitation to the number of devices that can be connected, but nobody expects at home that there will be more than 50 devices connected to the firewall. For business users, if you have the proper license, it will provide full protection not only as a firewall, but will protect your web server, Exchange Server, network, and provider web filtering capabilities. These days, that is really important. You don't want somebody to get in, or when a user clicks a link, they could lose some information. The more expensive products have better performance. If you have fast broadband then you will need a bigger device, otherwise, it will slightly reduce the speed of your throughput. For example, if you have a gigabit connection with the cheapest model, perhaps a UTM 320, then it will cut the speed by approximately 50% to 500 megabits.
The solution is 100% free. You can just download the software for up to 50 IP addresses. It is a hundred percent free. Throw it on your own machine. Right, it's a native Linux product, a hardened Linux product and it's free for that sort of user.

The Sophos UTM license is annual or you have a choice for a two or three-year term. The Sophos UTM licensing is based on if you have an appliance. There are several layers of subscription you can take: * Sophos UTM Full Guard includes everything but a few features. * Sophos UTM Full Guard Plus includes all the most used features, i.e Wifi, ITF, ITS, web publishing WAF, etc. There is a huge price list. The prices in the MENA area (the Middle East and North Africa) is completely different than North America. The products are completely different in the MENA area from the United States. Each region has its own scheme of pricing based on the VAT and the tax refund. The price might be different for the people who are in the United States and the UK. After you select the level of subscription, you pay once.
Everything involving pricing and licensing is maintained by our Bangladesh Sophos country managers. The pricing is okay and the licensing is also included in the price.
We procured this solution via the AWS Marketplace because of BYOL (bring your own licence). That was the driving force behind the choice. In addition, they had test and production environments in AWS already so it was easy to get a sign-off.
The biggest issue with Sophos is the pricing. It's definitely more expensive. We looked at Webroot, which is a big alternative, and Sophos was almost three times the price of Webroot. That's a pretty big difference. We actually went with both Webroot and Sophos. We went with Webroot for most of the client machines. We're only using Sophos for the servers and the really important client machines, like the ones the managers use. That way, we can split our cost up a little bit.
Purchasing through the AWS Marketplace is pretty straightforward. Because were entirely on AWS and don't have anything anywhere else. It made the most sense for us as a one stop shop. The pricing is pretty reasonable. I don't think that it is overly expensive.
Purchasing it through the AWS Marketplace went smoothly. We did not have any issues and the pricing was decent. We decided to purchase through the AWS Marketplace because of the integration with the AWS infrastructure, firing it up and configuring it was very seamless.

We originally purchased the solution through the AWS Marketplace. I started my proof of concept doing pay-as-you-go, then moved to a VAR for a 'Bring Your Own Licence' (BYOL) licensing model. The BYOL license still requires you to accept the terms of the AWS Marketplace to deploy. It is easy to purchase through the AWS Marketplace. In addition, if you have a budget for the AWS Marketplace, then your purchases will appear on your regular Amazon bill, which makes things even easier.
I have no problem with the cost or licensing of this solution. This is a primary reason whay I wanted this solution. It does the same thing cheaper than other name brands.
I recommend you get the three year licenses, since Sophos offers three years for the price of two. I would also recommend that you acquire any Sophos Licensing with Professional Services added, that way, you'll have the best experience possible.
Sophos UTM is a unified threat management platform designed to protect your businesses from known and emerging malware including viruses, rootkits and spyware. The solution provides a complete network security package with everything your organization needs in a single modular appliance.
Sophos UTM Features
Sophos UTM has many valuable key features. Some of the most useful ones include:
Web and Email Filtering
General Management
Network Protection
Network Routing and Services
Advanced...
The product pricing and licensing are higher, but they offer good value for the features and stability provided.
You cannot really say that the solution is expensive, given the protection it gives.
Sophos UTM is a reasonably priced product. I rate the product's price a five on a scale of one to ten, where one is cheap, and ten is expensive.
The cost of the license depends on the size of the firewall appliance. There is a huge variety of pricing models. Sophos UTM has very reasonable pricing.
It's expensive. It has a yearly license.
Compared to the current market offerings, like FortiGate or SonicWall, Sophos offers its solution at a good price.
The price of the solution is high. The price from USD to my currency is expensive. I rate the price of Sophos UTM a five out of ten.

We have a three-year license and have support services as well.
Sophos UTM's pricing is on the cheaper side.
The price is comparable to other products of this kind.
The price of Sophos UTM is reasonable.
Sophos UTM is priced in the middle range. Okay. It's a good value and a far better price than many competing solutions.
Sophos UTM should be more open-source and reduce its license cost.
I'm using the free version.
There is a license for the device and for the software. We pay annually for the solution and the cost is competitive.

The pricing is reasonable. Of course, the customer would always like it to be lower, however, the quality to price ratio is positive.

The prices can be better, they could make it a lot cheaper.
The appliance should be purchased and there is a fee for the license. There is an option for a yearly licensing fee or for three years.
It is necessary to pay for a licence to use the solution, but it is not very expensive.
We've found the solution to be cost-effective overall. Normally we do a three-year license with maintenance on a firewall. Beyond the standard maintenance fee, the solution doesn't require any other licensing costs.
I think the pricing of Sophos is very fair.
