Our use case is to protect our existing secure email. We were having a lot of problems with phishing from third-party solutions. That is why we were looking for a solution that would provide additional security.

Our use case was basically that we were already using a Fortinet firewall, and it was easy for us to adopt a Fortinet Cloud solution, considering we would have a secret console through which we can manage it. Management was one of the key factors. The return on investment for us was achieved since we did not have similar incidents again in our environment. Fortinet is also good at providing security beyond our email solution assets. That is why we opted to go with it.

For customers who need an email security solution, I provide Fortimail. I handle the implementation based on their subscription needs, and I am involved in the installation process.

Fortinet and other software ensure that my company's email remains safe, helping to avoid access issues at some cost in production. One of the most beautiful benefits is its integration, as it can seamlessly integrate with any third-party email servers. This level of compatibility makes it a suitable choice for organizations looking to secure their email systems.

We implemented FortiMail from Fortinet to enhance email security and protect our organization's personnel, particularly departments like HR and finance, who are often targeted by email attacks.

Content disarming and analysis are essential features in our email security setup. If an incoming email contains anything suspicious, such as malicious code, phishing materials, or potentially harmful content, FortiMail will first detect and neutralize the threats within the email before delivering it to the recipient. This ensures that the email is safe and poses no risk to the end user, providing peace of mind. Content analysis is another critical aspect. It involves scanning emails for elements like embedded images, links to suspicious websites, or any content that violates our security policies. Lastly, the impersonation detection feature is equally important. It helps identify cases where someone is trying to impersonate another person, such as a board of directors member or a key figure within the organization, in an attempt to send deceptive emails.

We use the product for spam filtering and as a second layer of filtering for Office 365. I use it for encrypting emails and monitoring all emails that have sensitive data and policies are applied there as well. In addition to having it as a user portal for spam emails and quarantined emails, users can manage their spam, their quarantined emails, and whether they want an address on the blacklist or the white list.  

Our security department is responsible for all emails that are quarantined by the system so they are monitored. There is two-way communication — not just one way — and FortiMail is doing all the work. We have to assign some people to control and monitor the operation for FortiMail. Due to the spam traffic, they have to change the scripts and the configuration. It is a two-way configuration and communication between the system and the administrators.  

FortiMail is not just something that you configure once and leave alone, it is a learning configuration. So you can not just use any configuration and think that it should continue to work optimally. Every organization has its own configuration. I have three companies working with FortiMail and every company has a different configuration, a different approach and different ways of controlling security. FortiMail is what their organization needs for security, but they must adapt it in practice. There is no universal solution for all of the companies. It is a very flexible solution.  

I worked with many email monitoring products and really they are all the same except for the engine and what the vendor companies provide to you for the filtering as far as the updates and security trends. But with each type or brand of email filter, you need to enhance your configuration as per your company requirements.  

As far as improvement, I would like to see additional troubleshooting tools. It would be useful to have different types of reporting so that you can monitor how your emails are flowing and not just have to go to the logs and see them one by one. Maybe you want to look separately at the details on your main server, SMTP server or how your head spam controller controls are working. It would be useful to have the reporting tools to do this. Maybe the reporting just needs some improvement.  

Troubleshooting tools are the first concern but I would also like to see some additional notification options in the system. For example, when the system quarantines emails there should be an option to notify administrators that a quarantine has been performed. This way you don't have to go and manually check the server periodically to see if anything is quarantined and needs attention. It should have live spam and live quarantine portal accessibility. It is not really optimal to have it every two or three hours or two hours. With a live portal, you could attend to the issues more efficiently and either release the emails or delete them. Live access is really something that I think would be good.  

I primarily use FortiMail for email security, checking emails for spam, malware, and analyzing content for threats.

The quarantine feature of FortiMail is the most valuable, as it quarantines emails based on my policies. I can manually check and release them, which is a wonderful feature. 

Additionally, FortiMail's integration with other Fortinet solutions enhances the security part of the organization.

I am impressed with the tool's ability to setup rules and destinations. It also helps to monitor suspicious items. 

The tool's UI can be simple since it's cluttered now and you can't understand where you are going. It's not obvious to find out the menus or things that you are looking to find. 

I use Fortinet FortiMail Cloud since it is a great tool.

Fortinet FortiMail Cloud is a good tool in terms of detection of phishing, viruses, email spoofing, and spam. With Fortinet FortiMail Cloud, lately, I have seen that the product is not updated, but when I started with the tool initially, it used to be good, or it used to be one of the best tools. Lately, Fortinet FortiMail Cloud is not updated during a time when threats are becoming more and more advanced.

The primary use case of this solution is for managing spam and viruses in email. We are also using it to send out mail. All of the mail is sent to FortiMailer.

FortiMail manages the mail and sends the mail to the main system inside of the company.

We have approximately 400 email accounts.

I understand a lot about spamming and antivirus and I have improved and increased my knowledge about the security of the system.
