Ruckus Wireless Reviews

To protect our devices and endpoints, we use ESET. To protect our Wi-Fi, we use Ruckus Wireless, which is a platform that manages Wi-Fi.

Ruckus Wireless provides wireless LAN, and I have been using it for three to five years.

The Town Hall did not deploy it themselves, but we contracted someone who was skilled in Ruckus Wireless platform to manage the deployment.

We have two access points and we are very satisfied. This scenario has about 200 seats, and we have many operations running. We are completely aligned with the product and very satisfied.

We have areas that are interference-prone.

I am not using BeamFlex technology with Ruckus Wireless.

We are satisfied, but there are some problems in the current Ruckus Wireless solution that we could not solve two years ago, and we are still waiting for a solution. These are lateral management problems, and we solved them with another type of tools. However, I do not know if the new versions of the product have resolved that issue.

We had approximately 150 access points at that time, so we had many points to change. We had another solution five years ago, and we changed all the access points to Ruckus Wireless solution as well as the Ruckus Wireless platform to manage all the access points.

There is room for improvement in Ruckus Wireless, and this is a problem that should be eliminated in the future. First of all, the product needs to be updated.

We are satisfied, but there are some problems in the current Ruckus Wireless solution that we could not solve two years ago, and we are still waiting for a solution. These are lateral management problems, and we solved them with another type of tools. However, I do not know if the new versions of the product have resolved that issue.

Ruckus Wireless provides wireless LAN, and I have been using it for three to five years.

We have areas that are interference-prone.

I do not know about Ruckus Wireless technical support because I have not contacted them.

The partner performed that integration, and we did not contact Ruckus Wireless.

The current solution is well-suited, and we pay the price happily because the previous solution had many problems and we were completely blocked. The previous solution generated many problems for us. Ruckus Wireless has no problems, and although we pay a lot of money, it is acceptable.

We used third-party integrators, not third-party systems. They performed the deployment, and since then, we have been using Ruckus Wireless without any problem.

One person handled the platform change, although they had less-skilled persons. The installers are not technical people and only performed the physical installation. Ruckus Wireless platform was changed by one technical person alone.

The access point cost in Ruckus Wireless is very high. Some access points cost approximately 3,000 euros per device, which would be appropriate for a great studio or similar facility. However, for us, it is very expensive. For lesser or lower access points, we are talking about 300 to 500 euros, which is not cheap. We pay happily in comparison with the previous product, and we are very satisfied with Ruckus Wireless. This is not a cheap solution.

There is a Fortinet solution, for example, a Forti solution. We know about this solution, but we cannot change all the access points now to manage another solution. Sophos also has a solution for access points. However, we will not change from Ruckus Wireless for probably five to seven years.

It took approximately two months to implement Ruckus Wireless.

My usual use cases for Ruckus Wireless are office purposes, to connect all the users that we have in the office, performing their jobs, having online meetings, or all that official work.

The features of Ruckus Wireless that I have found the most valuable are sustainability, performance, and I think this has been a good experience to work with Ruckus Wireless. Overall, we have fewer issues using these devices, and it's more stable.

Ruckus Wireless has helped improve my organization's connectivity overall because I asked my team to design in the mesh protocol with the layout diagram so that we can have more areas covered with the common details. The availability of the access points to even the weaker areas has been good now with this variant.

Intelligent analytics from Ruckus Wireless have helped my operations because this is a device that supports users to perform their jobs timely and efficiently. The load management on the recent devices, which we have recently updated, is much better. It is better, but it is still not up to the standard I expect from Ruckus Wireless. Even then, the values it is producing to manage the users are good, especially when we are having extensive working.

I cannot suggest much for Ruckus Wireless, but I think all the new versions have already incorporated all the improvements that are required in this device. So I cannot suggest something which I believe is already either in process or already been given to the customer.

There is something on my mind about how the product could be optimized. The number of users they claim can simultaneously connect to the system actually varies. Sometimes when there's a load of work, even within the range of the concurrent users, we feel that the system is burdened and slows down. Perhaps there is something that can make it work better when there's a high load on that. However, this does not happen frequently. Sometimes it happens when I see the number of users increasing on one access point, which slows down a little bit, especially when we are having online meetings and teams are communicating over the internet. This trouble causes a little bit of irritation to the user, wondering why data downloading or uploading or transferring takes extra time. That is my concern.

I have been working with Ruckus Wireless for more than ten years.

I have communicated with Ruckus Wireless technical support directly for all technical issues. I have a team, both in-house and with the distributor or seller, so usually there is not any issue going on. Most of the times, there are no issues.

Before Ruckus Wireless, I used other brands. I remember other Taiwan or Chinese brands we used, such as D-Link and other similar older solutions.

My experience with the initial setup of Ruckus Wireless was positive. In Pakistan, we have good teams that are trained for Ruckus Wireless. The distributor that supplied us with the material had good teams, and we also had good in-house teams, so there was no big issue with that.

For ROI, it will obviously take some time because we have recently invested in these devices. The older devices were purchased almost ten years ago, and we kept upgrading those devices, but now we have moved to the new ones. For the previous ones, it was great to get the ROI from those devices. I believe that in the coming years, it would be real value for the money.

Regarding the pricing and licensing of Ruckus Wireless, it's a bit expensive compared to other solutions available in Pakistan. However, that is all right because when there is something of value available against your spending, then I think it is acceptable.

We do work with this solution. We recently bought Ruckus Wireless last year, or rather, we upgraded. We already had the older one, but we recently replaced some of the access points a year ago.

I do use BeamFlex technology of Ruckus Wireless.

Overall, I would rate Ruckus Wireless a nine out of ten.

The thing about Ruckus is that we have greater range, so we need fewer access points. 

My Ubiquiti setup had, like, ten access points in a warehouse. With Ruckus, I only ordered six because I know I need fewer. So that's a savings if you want to look at it like that.

The Ruckus guest Wi-Fi setup seems to be the most helpful when it comes to managing security. The Ubiquiti access points have a guest hotspot feature, but unless you know what you're doing, you won't be able to separate that guest hotspot from your regular Wi-Fi. On the Ruckus side, if you want to separate your guest from your regular Wi-Fi, that's not a problem. It's almost impossible to combine the two.

In Ubiquiti, you think you're doing it, but when you actually test it, you can get to all your file servers on your guest network. There are ways to separate them, but you really have to know what you're doing. So I actually come across Ubiquiti networks all the time, and I'm able to get right to the other side of the network they're trying to protect because they're not really safe. They can be, but the documentation is garbage, and it's hard. So, out of the box, Ruckus is definitely safer.

Speed, throughput. That's number one. If you want to get close to Ethernet speed, you go with Ruckus. Throughput's amazing. They're very dependable. 

Now, I've only deployed outdoor access points outdoors, so I can't really comment on how well they're gonna work indoors. But I spoke directly with Ruckus support folks last week, and they told me that they only deploy the outdoor access point in warehouses. 

But I expect nothing but success because once we diagnosed our wireless problems, it all made sense. The access points that I get from Ruckus, the outdoor ones, will actually have a range of 160 degrees Fahrenheit down to minus 40, and that covers the extremes that are usually found in the metal roofing area of warehouses. 

When Ruckus was fighting for survival, they had the most innovative ideas and concepts. But after Ruckus was bought by CommScope, their development slowed down considerably. I could see it on the boards, and people were happy because the technology was already at a point where it made their lives easier, but pushing forward stopped when CommScope came into the picture. You can actually even get the Ruckus salespeople to tell you that. It just seems like everything kinda stopped at that time. It's been something like four or five years.

That is a disappointment because these guys knew what they were doing, and it just seems like they've all kinda gone to bed now. Whenever a company buys another company, there's always some damage. And in this case, it's basically a lack of development. They're just stuck in time.

So, my suggestion would be for them to return to more innovative thinking or innovative ideas.

I still buy it. I just spent ten grand getting all of these access points, and I'm still bought into it, but it is not the same company it was before they were purchased.

I have been using it since 2014, so it's been ten years.

You can get support from Ruckus. With Ubiquiti, there are some products you can actually pay for support, but Ruckus support, at least for the first month without having to pay, is excellent. They'll get you up and running, no problem, with whatever product you buy. You can also pay for support down the road, which you can't do with Ubiquiti on all their products. You have to get the newest stuff on Ubiquiti before you can actually buy a support contract.

But I can pick up any Ruckus access point and get support, so I would give that ten out of ten. It's not, like, email only. They'll actually take a call. They'll even help you with stuff that you didn't buy directly from one of their resellers. You could buy stuff from eBay, and you'll get limited support from Ruckus on it. I mean, they will tell you to register it and then get a service contract, but you're not dead in the water like you are with Ubiquiti. You have nothing with Ubiquiti. There's no help.

It's not complicated at all. It's probably the easiest. If you were looking at the complete ease of setting up a Ruckus Wi-Fi network, I don't think you could make it easier. It does 99.5% of it by itself. You literally power on the access points. The technology I use is called Ruckus Unleashed, which is a subset of the Ruckus access points. It got this "Unleashed" name because there's no controller. All the access points are capable of becoming the controller. So the first one you deploy builds the network. You give it specifics, like the IP subnet. That's it. You name it, and you let it do its thing.

If I had a power outage or one of my switches failed that the controller was on, the Ruckus Unleashed network is so advanced that it just makes another one of the access points that's still running the master controller. It takes over all of those roles, and it happens instantaneously. So, this network is self-healing. I'm not sure if it is AI, but it's self-healing. That's part of why you pay extra money, so not having a controller is one less failure point. It's pretty amazing, but it's the same exact technology that I deployed pre-pandemic. So it hasn't gotten any more advanced.

Ruckus Wireless utilizes AI:

The fact that if one of my access points got taken out, that doesn't take the network offline, which I can't say about Ubiquiti. When I lost three access points to the heat, it created network loopbacks in the Wi-Fi system, so the Wi-Fi was useless. In that way, you can call it AI, but it's not legit AI because it's not using any legit AI backend systems. It's just software. They've got really good software that has, you can call it, self-healing. It is self-healing, but it's sort of AI because when this technology was created, there was no viable link to AI.

I've been using it for so long that even the screens and all the different applications or features are still there. There's some new stuff, but with every release, they just move things around. Ruckus looks exactly the same from 2014 to now. You could sit somebody down who played with this ten years ago, and they would wonder if they're using ten-year-old tech. I don't know if it is a good thing or a bad thing, but it's nice. You don't have to rebuild anything.

In terms of operational impacts, you don't need a controller. The Ruckus access points do use more power, so you want to make sure you have a powerful enough PoE switch. 

But once I have the right environment, I'm fine. I don't see anything that would stop me once I have a proper working environment.

Once I deploy the system, I won't spend any time on it at all. I'll just set the master access point to handle all of the firmware updates and tell it to do it after hours. After that, I won't really even log into the Wi-Fi system. I mean, I will to see if we have rogue access points out there or somebody's turned on something that shouldn't have, because the way Ruckus does its logs is way better than Ubiquiti. It's very easy to spot, like, "Oh, okay, so somebody's on this access point. They turned on a hotspot on their computer. They're trying to share my internet." I could find that pretty quickly. 

I would have alerts that would be sent to me, and then I would go into it. But aside from that, I'm not going to do a whole lot because I know it's just going to work.

It's going to turn into a situation where people are going to find that the Wi-Fi is so fast that they're going to disconnect from Ethernet so that they can have the flexibility of moving around, and they'll be on Wi-Fi more often than not. That's what happens anytime you deploy a Wi-Fi system that's fast. You want to keep people on your Ethernet, deploy a low-end system, and people will always go to the faster system. But the cool thing about Ruckus is that it makes your Wi-Fi as fast as your internet.

I would rate the pricing an eight out of ten, with ten being expensive. I would spend my own money on Ruckus, so it's worth it. 

It's a lot more expensive, three to four times more expensive compared to its competitors. But as the IT guy, not the money guy, I know that money is well worth being spent. So, I would take money out of other parts of my budget just to have Ruckus. There's no way around it; it costs a lot more.

It's probably one of the more expensive systems if you're going to break the units down to an access point. So it's up there in the top three. 

I don't think if I had no experience with Ruckus, I would be bought in. Why would somebody pay that much money? It's the ten years of experience that I have and knowing that with this system, you're just not going to have problems. I would do it again and again and again.

There's probably not that many parts of IT where I don't look to save money because that's how we stay employed, by finding the cheapest viable solution. This is one area where I will flat out not hesitate and make sure I get Ruckus if I can.

I have, and I will continue to recommend Ruckus Wireless to others because, other than the money, there's no downside.

It's a ten out of ten. They knocked it out of the park.

Ruckus Unleashed is a network solution capable of supporting up to 128 access points without the need for a controller. It offers basic networking features and can operate in a mesh topology, though it doesn't have to be mesh. On the other hand, Ruckus Virtual SmartZone is a more comprehensive and feature-rich product. It provides advanced functionalities such as 802.1X access authentication, AAA authentication, guest login integration with social media platforms, AP and switch management, among others. 

We deploy our solutions in various environments, including education, hospitality, and shopping centers. Our services cover a wide range of sectors, excluding domestic deployments. We rarely engage in domestic deployments due to the relatively higher overhead and support demands compared to enterprise environments, making it less viable for us.

ChannelFly from Ruckus Wireless has had the most significant impact on the network performance of our customers.

The BeamFlex technology in Ruckus Wireless enhances Wi-Fi coverage. Both BeamFlex and ChannelFly operate in conjunction, with BeamFlex being the underlying technology and ChannelFly being its application. BeamFlex facilitates the reuse of beams, reducing dead spots by up to 25%.

The SmartZone OS has streamlined network management for our customers, providing a unified interface for overseeing switches and IT management. Within this interface, users can easily differentiate between zones, AP groups, and switch groups.

The implementation of Ruckus Wireless significantly enhances network scalability. Unlike some other solutions, Ruckus allows seamless scaling to accommodate growing needs without encountering scalability issues. Customers can easily expand their network by connecting additional access points and adding licenses as required.

One of the most valuable features I appreciate is auto channelization, facilitated by a proprietary product called ChannelFly. This feature enables APs in a specific zone to automatically adjust their channels, optimizing performance. Additionally, Ruckus Wireless stands out for its ability to reuse certain beams, resulting in smaller data spots. In my experience with various products, Ruckus Wireless consistently delivers unparalleled throughput, coverage, and reliability in wireless networking across different environments. As a noteworthy point, the newly launched WiFi 7 standard is measured against Ruckus's WiFi 7 AP, establishing it as the global benchmark. When it comes to WiFi, Ruckus sets the standard, outperforming competitors with its superior performance and capabilities.

I recommend enhancing flexibility for administrators within the Partner Domain. Currently, there are five categories with assigned features, but I'd like more granularity, such as limiting certain user actions like AP reboots. Currently, AP admin rights grant access across all APs, which could be improved for better control. 

One feature I'd like to integrate is the ability for self-signed users to utilize Dynamic Pre-Shared Key instead of solely relying on tokens for authentication. This enhancement would provide users with more secure and flexible authentication options.

Stability is excellent, with very few issues encountered. The only occasional instability arises when an access point loses connectivity and needs to rejoin, which is typical in any environment. Overall, the functionality of our access points is highly reliable, with no instances of them ceasing to work. Ruckus outperforms competitors in terms of stability and functionality. I would rate it nine out of ten.

It provides excellent scalability capabilities. I would rate it nine out of ten. Our clientele includes large corporations, multi-dwelling units, and student accommodations. We are currently in the process of deploying over 29 student accommodation buildings, totaling over 4,000 access points. Additionally, we manage properties such as malls, with approximately 1,000 access points, as well as smaller tenants with around 110 to 100 access points each. In total, our projected portfolio for the next two years encompasses approximately 5,000 access points under our management.

The technical support provided by Ruckus is exceptional. I can initiate a support request and have a P1 support session set up within fifteen minutes. The support team is incredibly helpful, typically responding within an hour to address and resolve any issues or concerns that arise. I would rate it nine out of ten.

The initial setup was relatively complex. I would rate it four out of ten. Some of the challenges during the initial setup include configuring IP addressing, defining firewall rules, selecting the hosting location, and ensuring adequate resources are available.

The deployment time for setting up a controller typically ranges from two to three hours, depending on team complexity. However, I usually allocate around four hours to ensure the environment is fully functional before handing it over to the customer.

The deployment process is straightforward, especially for customers accessing our hosted environment. They configure their access point to point to our public IP address, and the access point joins the controller automatically. From there, I configure the domain and zones on the controller, typically completing the setup in less than fifteen minutes. However, for new setups, the process involves downloading the virtual controller image, implementing it, inputting all necessary details such as name and IP address, and configuring the controller settings. This process may take longer, especially when facing initial setup challenges.

Ruckus networking solutions offer various license-based models, including support licenses lasting a year, permanent AP licenses, and switch licenses with potentially expiring support. Ruckus One is a cloud-hosted platform with integrated features like analytics and AI, providing flexibility for customers. For network deployments, smaller environments may benefit from Ruckus Unleashed, while larger setups may require controller-based or cloud-based solutions, each with its pros and cons. Controller-based setups typically involve on-site virtual SmartZone deployment, while cloud-based solutions host controllers remotely. Hosted environments like Intel's offer greater network control, but may require firewall adjustments, while cloud environments have firewall limitations and subscription-based licenses. Ultimately, the choice depends on factors such as network size, control preferences, and maintenance needs.

I would rate it six out of ten. It is not cheap, but it also doesn't carry the high price tag of some other products on the market. 

For licensing, the product licenses are permanent, while support licenses are renewed yearly. An AP license costs around $40, with support priced at approximately $20 per year.

My advice for anyone considering implementation is to carefully consider the locations of the access points. It's crucial to understand your customer's requirements thoroughly before deploying. I would recommend it and I would rate it nine out of ten.

We use the product for internet connection. We use it for Wi-Fi coverage in our restaurants, bars, and lobbies. It handles high-density environments well. Some of our restaurants have 300 to 500 people. It’s the same in the bars and lobbies.

The lobby is the main area for the guests. We use Ruckus to cover the whole lobby. It also helps in the beach bar. It is a big place with a capacity of 400 people. It is a high-density environment.

The solution enhances the user experience. Our guests can post photos on social media at any time. They need not wait till they get back to their rooms. They can also post live videos. It enhances the guest experience.

Pricing is the main barrier to hardware upgrades. It is too expensive. The cost must be reduced.

I have been using the solution for more than two years.

I rate the tool’s stability a nine or ten out of ten.

The tool is scalable. We have 2000 to 2500 users. We have three people on the technical team.

We reach out to the support team when we face big challenges.

The setup is straightforward. The configuration and installation take two days.

The implementation can be done in-house.

The product enables us to have Wi-Fi coverage everywhere so that our guests can post photos and videos online.

I have used Meraki, Aruba, and D-Link. We work with different products. We often choose the solution that provides the best price for the specifications we require.

We do not use many features. I use the controller. I will recommend the product to others. It is a stable solution. Overall, I rate the tool eight to nine out of ten.

I use Ruckus Wireless to provide it as a service in residential areas.

Mesh networking and antenna patterns are the most valuable features of the solution.

Wi-Fi 6E and the cloud are areas with shortcomings in the solution that need improvement.

The technical support from Ruckus should be made better and free.

I have been using Ruckus Wireless for twelve years. My company has a partnership with Ruckus Wireless.

Stability-wise, it is an absolutely fine product.

Though the solution is scalable, our company does not use the scalability options provided by the tool.

My company mostly caters to the needs of our clients, consisting of hundreds of people who mostly want the solution for their residential purposes.

The technical support from Ruckus is okay. I rate the technical support a six out of ten.

I have experience with Aruba and Meraki. Ruckus Wireless is above average in price and performance, but it does a good job. Ruckus Wireless is expensive compared to other tools in the market. Considering the fact that there are more expensive products in the market, Ruckus Wireless is a robust product compared to the other cheap alternators in the market. Ruckus Wireless performs well at its price point but is expensive when considering its features.

The product's installation phase was easy.

The number of days required to install the product depends on how big of a deployment process is required for a particular infrastructure. It can take you weeks to complete the deployment of 1,000 access points, while a single access point can be deployed in around 10 minutes.

No one has deployed Ruckus Wireless on the cloud since it doesn't provide users with a robust or easy-to-use cloud solution.

Cost-wise, the product is priced above average, considering its competitors in the market.

Speaking about whether it was easy or difficult to maintain the solution, I would say that my experience was average.

I would tell those who plan to use the solution that it is not a voice move to deploy it now since you can't deploy Wi-Fi 6E currently.

Ruckus Wireless doesn't offer the latest protocols in all formats. For small deployments, you have to be on their enterprise platform, and if you're not deploying with the help of their enterprise platform, you can't deploy the latest generation of Wi-Fi, making it difficult for you to sell it. Ruckus Wireless is currently only good for maintenance purposes.

I rate the overall solution a three out of ten.

We use it for public Wi-Fi services.

Ruckus Wireless improved our organization's operations compared to other competitors like Cisco, HP Arbor, and Extreme Networks. We ran pilot tests and assessed functionality and stability over four months. Ultimately, we chose Ruckus.

I find signal combining and team forming in Ruckus Wireless most valuable. Signal Combining boosts signal strength and coverage, while Team Forming improves network performance by working together effectively. These features have greatly helped our organization.

One area where Ruckus Wireless could improve is its technical support. It needs to better handle technical issues and keep up with current technology standards.

I have been using Ruckus Wireless for two and a half years.

The solution is very stable. I would give it a nine out of ten for stability. Ruckus Wireless was the most stable option among major Wi-Fi products like Cisco and Extreme Networks in our testing. 

Ruckus Wireless is very scalable. I would rate the scalability a nine out of ten. Anyone can access Ruckus Wi-Fi services whenever they receive the Ruckus Wi-Fi signal nearby, as the access points are operational 24/7, 365 days a year.

I would rate the technical support a seven out of ten. It definitely needs some improvement.

I would rate the easiness of the initial setup a nine out of ten. It is fairly simple. It took approximately 20 minutes to install the outdoor access point.

Overall, I would rate the solution a nine out of ten. I'm very satisfied with it.

Ruckus Wireless is used in high-density environments, such as theaters, meeting rooms, and city centers where there is a lot of interference from other wireless networks.

One of the biggest features of Ruckus Wireless is its BeamFlex+ technology.

It's a potential technology only available through Ruckus wireless access points. This technology permits to follow each user during its Wi-Fi experience, which is awesome.

The pricing is the biggest issue with Ruckus wireless. It's so expensive, but Ruckus are just the best. 

So, from my point of view, portal features are something missing in Ruckus Wireless. I want to see Ruckus Wireless integrate a Wi-Fi portal into its product. This would allow for easier user authentication for vendors.

We are a vendor or reseller of Ruckus Wireless, and we deploy it across different customers.

I have been working with Ruckus Wireless for 15 years. I deal with the latest version of Ruckus Wireless.

I would rate the stability a ten out of ten. 

We have more than 100 customers currently using Ruckus Wireless in our business area. So, I would rate the scalability a ten out of ten. 

It is a very scalable product. 

The customer service and support ask too much. The product on it says it's already really expensive. And if you want premium support, then it's, again, more money, and then it becomes really too hard.

I worked with Ubiquiti and Aruba. We have replaced Ubiquiti with TP-Link. So if we need a cheap solution, then we'll go rather to TP-Link than to Ubiquiti.

There are no difficulties with installing Ruckus Wireless. However, you have to be certified to install Ruckus wireless equipment. 

So, today, there's a key version of Ruckus wireless, which is called the unleashed version, where you have no controller, but you miss lots of features when you do that, so we never use it.

Ruckus Wireless is both an on-premises and cloud-based solution. The antennas are always on-premises, but the management can be done in the cloud.

The time it takes to deploy Ruckus Wireless depends on the complexity of the infrastructure. For a small deployment, it can take about 30 minutes per device.

But it surely depends on the complexities and experience of the person. When you use the cloud controller, it's really a job for an expert, not for the novices.

I'm a technician with extensive experience in Ruckus Wireless. Our implementation strategy for Ruckus Wireless is the same as for any other product. 

There is an ROI because it's really set up and forget. It just does its job. It saves a lot of time. It is a reliable solution. 

There are extra expenses in addition to standard licensing.

I would recommend using this solution for professional use. And if it's just like amateurs, people who don't have experience with it, so they might face some difficulties.

That's a question of connection density. So if you want to deliver Wi-Fi to more than a hundred people in a small room, then you do it with Ruckus, or you don't.

Overall, I would rate the solution a ten out of ten. 

We have an enterprise wireless solution with multiple vendor access points deployed across buildings and have implemented 802.1x authentication with dynamic VLANs. We have more than 100 Ruckus devices with Wpa2 enterprise authentication mode, and requests are getting authenticated from our NPS server.

Our classrooms are equipped with 4*4 Mimo Wi-Fi 6 technology-based Ruckus access points that will handle more than 80 high bandwidth clients at the same time. Moreover, our meeting rooms are also equipped with 2*2 Mimo models that easily handle high bandwidth applications.

We have been migrating from Fortinet access points to Ruckus Wireless over a period of 5 years. We could experience good coverage and have increased the overall Wi-Fi quality in our organization to a large extent. We were able to provide stable bandwidth for students even at peak hours, so overall, students could learn even from hostels with uninterrupted Wi-Fi. 

The reliability and stability issues of Fortinet have been considerably reduced after implementing Ruckus to hostels to a large extent. Overall, internet bandwidth utilization has also been utilized effectively after the Ruckus implementation.

Ruckus has two important features that proved to be very useful to us 0 Channelfly and background scanning. Channelfly was proven effective in areas where changes in Wi-Fi usage are at the least. It builds a a great utilization matrix and uses channel efficiently to manage bulk users and in highly dense Wi-Fi environments. 

Also it has a quality rogue AP detection and exact real-time logs of intrusions. 

Also configurations are highly customizable and we could tune easily to suit our Wi-Fi requirements. New Wi-Fi 6 models proved to be highly effective in our highly dense environment also.

Ruckus should have an option to migrate existing licenses from an old controller to a new purchase; presently, this is not possible. Also, the rates are a bit higher compared to its nearest competitors - like Cisco and Aruba.

The New Ruckus VM controller has an increased set of options, yet all options are scattered and is a bit complicated for even users who handle earlier hardware versions.

It would have been great if Ruckus Wireless had the standalone version which they had before. Presently, it can be used only in controller-based or cloud environments.

We have been a legacy user of Ruckus wireless for the past nine years with models from the old Ruckus 2942 to the latest model Ruckus 650 in our environment.

Extremely stable Wi-Fi coverage is ensured with Ruckus Wireless.

It is highly scalable and can be done in virtual machine environments with scalable resources.

It was pretty good customer service and support from the Ruckus team. RMA devices were shipped promptly without any delay.

We previously used Fortinet as well as Ubiquiti access points and were literally struggling to keep our Wi-Fi stable until and unless we got Ruckus into our environment. 

We were forced to switch to Ruckus for better performance at peak times and also due to its increased penetrative power through hard walls.

It was pretty straightforward; we got nice support from the Ruckus TAC team.

We have an in-house experienced networking team for all configurations.

We could really utilize our bandwidth effectively after our Ruckus implementation. We could handle the yearly bandwidth cost and server access expenses when stable Wi-Fi access is being provided to end users.

Pricing and licensing are a concern for average enterprises as Ruckus is overpriced when compared to Aruba and Cisco. Also, it is better to go with a new controller license rather than adding to an old one since, over a period of time, most of the new devices will be supporting only the latest controllers.  

We looked into Aruba and Cisco. However, Ruckus has the upper hand in terms of advanced Wi-Fi features. It has got a highly customizable controller to meet our flexible Wi-Fi requirements.

Currently, Ruckus is the best in this arena, and I would highly recommend having this solution on your premises to get superb and stable Wi-Fi infrastructure.
