Secure file sharing has protected global storage and improves confidence with external partners
The best features Antivirus for Amazon S3 offers include that it is really a built-in feature which is really great, as you don't have to do anything extra, there's no operational complexity or cost overhead associated with it, and because it's a managed solution, it's easy for us to configure policies as S3 buckets are created globally and make sure they have the necessary virus protection as needed. The simplicity and ease of policy configuration have helped my team day-to-day because, as it is part of the AWS ecosystem, I don't need to really hire a separate skill set to configure this service, and moreover, if I use the console, all the features are available to me at a click, and I can also programmatically control it, making configuring the antivirus part of setting S3 objects rather than setting up a separate service altogether on top of S3.

Migration to cloud has cut database costs and simplified shared storage but still needs lower latency
The best features FlashGrid Cluster for Oracle RAC offers include shared storage, which is critical because for on-premise Oracle high availability clusters, I do not need FlashGrid. When I migrate to the public cloud, I need FlashGrid to provide that shared storage. It is easy to migrate from on-premise to cloud because the Oracle architecture does not change; the only difference is that in the public cloud, shared storage block was not available, but FlashGrid provides that feature to the Oracle RAC cluster. FlashGrid Cluster for Oracle RAC has positively impacted my organization cost-wise because by migrating to the cloud from my on-premise data center, I could consolidate the price structure for my storage and compute needs. Oracle RAC was the bottleneck for that because previously, without FlashGrid, I could not configure Oracle RAC in the public cloud, but with FlashGrid, I managed to consolidate costs for Oracle RAC infrastructure in the cloud. After migrating with FlashGrid, I have a substantial presence of Oracle RAC clusters in my data centers, around 50 RAC clusters across the U.S., and each was costing around $100,000 per year per cluster. However, I was able to migrate 25 of those clusters to the public cloud using FlashGrid, and the cost was reduced to $50,000 for those clusters, meaning I saved $50,000 per annum for the 25 instances. After installing and configuring FlashGrid in AWS cloud, I was able to reduce the storage cost substantially compared to my on-premise data center storage. I saved $50,000 per Oracle RAC cluster per annum using FlashGrid, which includes both storage cost, compute cost, and also manpower cost.

Pros

"Antivirus for Amazon S3 has positively impacted my organization by making the entire organization much safer, allowing partners to safely upload their personal files, images, and videos to the Airbnb platform, which ensures that we as a company can be a reliable partner to our partners with safe integration."
"Antivirus for Amazon S3 is a great tool that is reliable and easy to integrate, adding an essential security layer for S3-based workflows which may be subject to malicious attacks and protecting the overall infrastructure while also reducing the burden of checking those files on your own."
"Antivirus scanning has a clear positive impact on security, automation, and developer velocity in my organization."
"Antivirus for Amazon S3 has positively impacted my organization by giving us the confidence that we can really expose our S3 buckets to the external world without having to worry about security, and from a developer standpoint, we know that at any point in time globally if S3 buckets are created, we have templates that will automatically enforce the antivirus policies there, improving our overall security posture rather than compromising it because we do have a large footprint on S3."
"Integrating Amazon S3 antivirus scanning with our security monitoring systems has significantly streamlined my team's workflow and improved our response efficiency."
"There was an 80% efficiency increase with the deployment of this antivirus solution, which causes fewer incidents to be created whenever any alert is generated in real time."
"The advanced automatization and the isolated quarantine bucket have helped my workflow and security because I do not need to write my own scripts on Python and Lambda to operate with incidents, which saves us a lot of costs."
"Antivirus for Amazon S3 has positively impacted our organization by definitely reducing our manual work and saving time for our infrastructure."
"The stability and performance of the cluster during testing were impressive."
"I saved $50,000 per Oracle RAC cluster per annum using FlashGrid, which includes both storage cost, compute cost, and also manpower cost."

Cons

"There are no major issues, but if the company could work on deployment features as well as cost-effectiveness and some specific features that require licensing needs, it would be really helpful."
"I rate it seven out of ten because if they can add the improvements that I suggested, then I will rate it higher obviously."
"Integration, support, and documentation are areas where Antivirus for Amazon S3 has room to improve."
"One limitation I have identified is that advanced customizations can be tricky with fully managed solutions for Antivirus for Amazon S3."
"Antivirus for Amazon S3 could be improved by addressing that it is a little bit complicated to set up because you have to deploy it via CloudFormation or Terraform, and it can be a little bit difficult trying to troubleshoot the image or container issues."
"The improvement area for Antivirus for Amazon S3 that we are facing is with large-scale file systems; it should be distributed and support a large scale of data."
"I think Antivirus for Amazon S3 could be improved by slightly further automating the process; beyond just the ability to send notifications, if an email could be crafted or if communication through any channel could be established with the person or team who uploaded the file, that level of automation could be avoided on our end, allowing us to configure an entire loop from detecting a malicious upload to contacting the uploader and taking corrective action, which I think would be really cool."
"Overall, Antivirus for Amazon S3 works well, but there are a few areas where it could be improved."
"There is room for improvement in the area of migration or integration with existing on-premises infrastructure."
"One weakness is that there might be performance degradation once I install Oracle RAC in the public cloud using FlashGrid; that is one weakness I have encountered after migrating to the public cloud with FlashGrid."
