We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution is highly scalable, this is very important for us. It can handle a lot of messages.""SDM: User-friendly tool which allows for a seamless approach to performing hotfixes, if required.""The solution offers excellent stability.""The features that I have found most valuable are that it is very easy to develop. Most of it is graphical, but we also have the option to add any custom call that you need.""The Messenger Broker is a really good feature.""ESB: Provides all kind of possibilities to resolve business needs. A lot of ready to use services plus custom Java services. I used a lot of them all."

"Valuable features include web service development and cloud connectivity.""The Oracle SOA Suite has many useful features, and different organizations may place different emphases on the importance of each feature. Certain features are particularly important to the organization, such as the ability to access databases and transform messages, as well as the use of proxy services to secure web services with usernames and passwords. These features can be critical for enabling effective integration and data exchange between systems and applications.""I found the adapters to be most useful.""What I like best about Oracle SOA Suite is Oracle support. I also like the tool features, especially the integration feature.""Enables our Product Manager to post products to different outside EC platforms with only one interface and one process.""Provides connectivity between discrete systems and has availability.""The product provides transparency in finances.""In Oracle SOA Suite some applications are not able to use REST, but it can support both SOAP and REST. You're able to integrate quite a lot of systems, which may not be able to in other solutions. You can also use XML and JSON. It is a standardizing type of tool. It doesn't matter whether I'm using JSON or XML, it can convert them."

Cons
"You should not hurry with upgrades without testing the whole product completely.""I don't know if the last version has the cloud option, but maybe that could be good. That could be something that is included.""The improvement is that it should be on the cloud and use web services.""The solution needs to improve support for new, more recent protocols on the API.""It should include/add more services with the product as per market demand. It should include custom Java services developed by any organization or provide a platform where users/developers can share ideas/custom services, etc.""Aurea CX Messenger could improve by making better use of the new APIs"

"The installation and adjustment process seems too complex.""SOA, OSB, SOA Cloud Service.""The solutions can improve the communication or translations between formats, such as JSON and XML. The JSON REST API could improve.""It's also not developer-friendly.""An important area that can be improved is the product's data monitoring. When we use the solution for interfacing or end-to-end data monitoring, we want to know exactly where the data is going and exactly where it is failing, or where there is an issue.""They supply lots of documentation but finding what we need is challenging at times.""The deployment could be made easier by including add-ons like Hudson and Maven.""The product is not user-friendly."

Pricing and Cost Advice

  • "The pricing is not so high."

  • "Oracle pricing is expensive. Support is based on your license. AWS is much better than Oracle in this regard."
  • "It is necessary to evaluate the requirement regarding the platform usage and what the main operation area of the platform will be."
  • "This product is WebLogic based, hence it can be both resource hungry as well as expensive from a licensing point of view."
  • "Based on my knowledge, Oracle SOA Suite doesn't have user-based licensing. It has a system-based licensing model, so you pay for whole systems. Oracle SOA Suite is an expensive solution, so it's a four out of ten for me."

    Overview

CX Messenger lets your technology keep pace with your business. Aurea’s industry leading Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) lets you adapt and change your infrastructure with plug-and-play speed and ease.

Oracle SOA Suite is a comprehensive, standards-based software suite to build, deploy and manage integration following the concepts of service-oriented architecture (SOA). The components of the suite benefit from consistent tooling, a single deployment and management model, end-to-end security and unified metadata management. Oracle SOA Suite helps businesses lower costs by allowing maximum re-use of existing IT investments and assets, regardless of the environment (OS, application server, etc.) they run in, or the technology they were built upon. Its easy-to-use, re-use focused, unified application development tooling and end-to-end lifecycle management support further reduces development and maintenance cost and complexity.
