An easy-to-use project management solution with good stability and scalability
The recent update on the solution has made it a little bit complex. For example, to create a team and a project, there is a separate button that you need to click. Recently they updated it with only one button making it difficult for us to create teams or supply teams other than a project. Hence the solution could be more user-friendly. Additionally, some additional features need to be integrated so it'll be easy for other companies or project managers to manage software projects.

Helps you avoid delays because you can visualize your deadlines and track your progress
I like the automation you can do with monday.com. You can automate priorities, status changes, notifications, etc. You may need another solution to create this automation in other tools, but monday.com includes everything. The Gantt view for project planning is also pretty good. The interface is another area where monday.com shines. It is colorful and visually appealing. You can paint with colors, and there are multiple views. If you are the type of person who wants all of your information displayed linearly, you can set it up in lines. It's the best tool for evaluating timelines and projects. The most challenging part is deciding how you want to display your information, but as soon as you know what you're doing, it's effortless to view where you are in the project and who's involved. You can set up a simple project in under five minutes, but a super complex one might take a few days. I think it's straightforward if you know how you want to organize your information. monday.com is accessible to non-technical users but takes a lot of time. They have many tutorials, and you can easily use monday.com if you can take the time to go through them and learn. When you initially create a project, it's only a board with lines on which you enter the tasks. You have some columns with the task owner, status, deadlines, etc. It is not that easy to understand all the features and how you can use them for your case, which is why people contact me. When you implement the tool, you decide which layout to use and what information you want to disclose. I've seen clients who have been using this for three years, and they still only know how to do things one way because they haven't taken the time to understand all the features. It's crucial to spend time at the start and learn the tool. I don't think the learning curve is that huge.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The ability to network informally is great for communicating with colleagues."
"The ease of use is valuable."
"Since the tool is so easy to use, our team members can all learn it quickly and create new boards, projects, tasks, and views easily."
"It is extremely customizable to each and every one of my clients' needs."
"The "My Week" view and task list are probably the most helpful for us - it's really great to set a project schedule and assign people to tasks."
"I don't really use the tool's advanced features, but I think it is quite convenient that I can just link the remaining timeline to calculate the set of end dates and the start dates."
"The UI is so smart."
"We can have different boards for different needs."
"I like the update feature. It's almost like you can replace email with it. You can communicate on a particular item within monday.com, and then you can see the history of who commented, when they commented, what they said, and the reply to what they said. It's much easier to follow up on a particular item than have a thousand emails going back and forth. In a big project, you can usually have a ton of emails. If you use monday.com as a communication tool, you can almost eliminate email and have better tracking on what was done, when it was done, and what was said about the items. That's probably my favorite feature."
"I love being able to "check off" a task by changing its status to "done." It also disappears off the list when you complete it."

Cons

"The product isn't easy to use. It's not very intuitive."
"The solution could be more user-friendly."
"Coordination with different social media platforms would be a convenient feature."
"Perhaps a direct interface integration with social media channels would be ideal."
"Sometimes, I had difficulty moving items from board to board and would have to move them twice to get them to successfully move."
"It would be great to have more options on the form for external use, and an easier exporting option for client answers (rather than copying and pasting from each section)."
"It would be great to be able to pull an activity report."
"I'm unable to send messages or update any projects from my tablet or cell phone which makes it hard when you are in the field all day and can't be at your desk."
"We'd like to see less downtime."
"A message center that is similar to texting or Facebook Messenger would be useful."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"We tell others it's about $2200 for a ten-person plan and it can be adjusted; it's easy to scale."
"Fees are paid monthly per user."
"The enterprise plan looks expensive because we don't understand the value as monday.com users. The pro level and other packages seem reasonable."
"I think monday.com's paywalls are a little too high. Some basic features are locked behind the premium subscription. Some applications they offer within their subscription model are locked in an expensive package. These applications provide functionality that would benefit small teams, but it's too much money for a startup or a small business."
"Though I am unsure about the product's pricing plan, there is a need to make monthly payments towards the licensing costs attached to the solution, and it operates on a per-user plan."
"The product is not expensive."
"The project manager would be responsible for any licensing fees. As an end-user, we just follow suit."
"The solution is quite inexpensive. For example, we pay $8,500 for 75 users. It's somewhere around $100 a user, approximately."
