An easy-to-use project management solution with good stability and scalability
The recent update on the solution has made it a little bit complex. For example, to create a team and a project, there is a separate button that you need to click. Recently they updated it with only one button making it difficult for us to create teams or supply teams other than a project. Hence the solution could be more user-friendly. Additionally, some additional features need to be integrated so it'll be easy for other companies or project managers to manage software projects.

C level has visibility into the entire timeline and status of an initiative, and real-time reporting saves work
It is meant for non-technical users. As a matter of fact, for technical users, it may seem kind of naive or non-sophisticated or something. But for non-tech people, it's a visual treat because it has functionalities and capabilities suited to their business function as well as flexibility in terms of customization to make it adaptable. monday.com is very flexible. We created workspaces for every team and they have the flexibility to create and define their own processes and data points as well as their approval processes. Viewing projects and timelines via Gantt charts in monday.com is a native functionality. The power of the dashboard is that the solution enables you to do risk, timeline, and cost-benefit analyses for your initiatives. It gives you a complete perspective on the impact of your future decisions and initiatives for the upcoming months, quarters, and years. Based on the different levels in the organization, there is visibility into what each function of the organization or each department is up to. As a manager, it gives you a live update of the tasks and any particular changes. You can track the entire project for your teams and for other teams as well. Creating a new project in monday.com takes a few seconds. If you have the templates created you can generate a project via automation. If you have a standard WBS (work breakdown structure) for every single project, you can trigger automation. When the project is approved, within a fraction of a second, the entire WBS is ready for you so that you can start putting in your updates and data. There are around 200 templates available in the solution, and that gives you a baseline to start from, whether you are doing agile management or waterfall. Once you select a template, boom, it creates a baseline structure and you can start. And even if you want to create a new project, it's still pretty simple and a matter of a few seconds.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The ability to network informally is great for communicating with colleagues."
"The ease of use is valuable."
"I like monday.com's automation capabilities the most, but the reporting is also excellent. Jira and our other tools provide decent reporting, but monday.com adds another layer. We can drill further down into processes, problems, and issues. These reports have helped us to control our sales funnel."
"The most valuable features are the way we could easily add tasks and track the timelines of tasks through a Gantt chart. That made it easier for us to see which crucial tasks were finished."
"I love how we can color coordinate between statuses and how statuses jump into their respective groups automatically once chosen."
"I have found the automation very useful for reminders."
"The notification system is well done."
"Being able to customize the boards to our needs as a dance studio with a smaller staff team has been very helpful."
"The way everyone can work together is fantastic."
"You can create a group of tasks and can write down sub-tasks under each task."

Cons

"The product isn't easy to use. It's not very intuitive."
"The solution could be more user-friendly."
"It would be great to be able to pull an activity report."
"I wish there was an option to pay for one-on-one technical assistance rather than watch tutorial videos."
"The new Apple Mac Book Pro lineup was launched more than two years ago and still, this platform is not compatible with the Mac App."
"While I appreciate the templates, some of them are extremely complex and not as tailored to non-profit work so they required quite a bit of customizing (but worth the trouble)."
"We would like to see better Microsoft Outlook integration."
"The key limitation I face is that I don't find the tool to be fully intuitive as more time is required for me to learn how to use it optimally."
"The export options are also not yet flexible and comprehensive enough."
"We would like to have more open boards at one time and more CRM functionalities."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"I am using the tool's free version."
"The pricing of monday.com is worth it."
"We tell others it's about $2200 for a ten-person plan and it can be adjusted; it's easy to scale."
"The pricing is totally fair. I don't have any issues with it."
"Though I am unsure about the product's pricing plan, there is a need to make monthly payments towards the licensing costs attached to the solution, and it operates on a per-user plan."
"It's quite expensive when it goes to the enterprise license. Other tools like Jira cost 5 a month, and then their enterprise license is 38 a month, which is quite expensive for what we can do. It's £500 for a tool on a large enterprise. I'd have hoped that enterprise costs go down, not up. The pro license is £14, and then everything else is much more expensive, which is another barrier for us to adopt because other comparable tools are much more affordable when you have such a high multiplier as well."
"The enterprise plan looks expensive because we don't understand the value as monday.com users. The pro level and other packages seem reasonable."
"The pricing of monday.com was a little bit high for us, especially here in South Africa, compared to Basecamp."
