Ensures service availability and handles attacks effectively though initial setup needs expertise
The best features that Check Point DDoS Protector offers, which stand out to me the most, are real-time detection and mitigation of application-layer DDoS attacks, easy integration with the existing Check Point security infrastructure, and low latency protection that does not disrupt legitimate traffic. The centralized console makes it easy to manage policy across devices, and the integration is straightforward since it works seamlessly with Check Point firewall and management and other security products. Check Point DDoS Protector has positively impacted my organization by improving uptime, reducing incidents, and providing cost savings. It will reduce the incidents up to 30%.

It provides protection for network applications and infrastructure level, and the best part is the behavioral-based detection that Radware provides us, along with real-time signature creation. We also have some applications where we have botnets running, and it provides protection against them. Web DDoS targets the application layer, which is layer seven of the OSI model. For that, we focus on the Web DDoS technique for bot-based attacks because we have many applications where bots are running. We also face many random URL attacks every day, and it protects against malicious or suspicious random URL attacks. It ensures both security and performance. It achieves this by learning behavior patterns and providing protection without blocking normal traffic. These are some of the features I am particularly satisfied with in this product.

Pros

"The initial setup takes two hours."
"Check Point DDoS Protector is a product that uses machine learning and behavior analysis."
"As our business continues to grow, we can grow this product simultaneously."
"It uses several layers of security."
"This product uses auto-learning and behavioral analysis to establish baselines for legitimate traffic, and automatically detects and blocks traffic behavior that does not conform."
"The is a really low level of the false-positive alerts (when the clean traffic is marked as DDoS) due to some advanced techniques used by Check Point under the hood."
"It can be deployed as a hardware appliance, virtual appliance, or as a cloud service."
"Check Point detects and automatically mitigates attacks, which helps our organization protect our infrastructure."
"The most important part is that Radware DDoS integrates seamlessly and provides anomaly identification, real-time notifications, and security against DDoS attacks. It also helps us with multi-layer volumetric attacks. It shields us from global botnet threats."
"Radware DDoS Protection Service has positively impacted my organization because we are more protected against attacks from the internet."
"Technologically simple and effective."
"The DDoS protection that the solution provides is its most valuable feature."
"Zero-day protection happens automatically because the initial steps only require us to create the policy for filtering, but after that, it continuously does its job without any manual intervention."
"I've been using this solution for the past two and a half years at my company, and I’m pleased to share that we’ve successfully achieved all of our use cases with their services."
"The most valuable feature is the ability to create signatures on-demand."
"Radware's support is first class."

Cons

"The Check Point support language is only in English."
"I would like applications for Android and IOS where we can follow the events, and, if necessary, make changes."
"The public documentation is a detail that must be improved in order to have greater implementations with the best practices in this case of the Check Point manufacturer."
"The product is expensive."
"Monitoring and reporting are the things that can be introduced in the future."
"The mitigation part could be improved."
"The solution should greatly improve its interface."
"It does not provide the capability to upload data for blacklisting/whitelisting in bulk."
"Radware's management is very proactive, but Radware's lower-level staff is not proactive. You need to do a lot of follow-ups."
"If they would go to a cloud-based approach, that would give much more flexibility in terms of working with them."
"We heavily relied on Radware's technical team to ensure the proper setup and configuration of VPN tunnels for cloud mitigation."
"There should be some extra layer of security and a method of advanced rate limiting. We can limit the number of IPs or URLs per session and per country. There should be improved bot management integration that mitigates bot-based DDoS attacks completely."
"I suggest improvements to the user interface to make it easier to use and to find the necessary data for analysis."
"The speed and quality of Radware DDoS's support should be improved."
"This product would be improved if ongoing live monitoring with dashboards were added."
"As a service provider, we are expecting the multi-tenancy feature on the dashboard and reporting side. It will help share reports with customers in real-time. They can directly see them online. We are working with their team on API integration with our portal. We will be able to achieve that, but it will take some time."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The appliance comes with a loaded hardware license, and additional options such as SSL can be purchased and enabled."
"I don't deal with the pricing, but it seems that you need to get basic support in order to upgrade the DDoS database for new attacks and so on."
"It's an expensive solution. It's one of the most expensive solutions in the world. It's cheaper than Palo Alto and Cisco but these are expensive solutions. Fortinet is cheaper."
"It is not expensive. It is medium range. The pricing is good, as we recently renewed our licenses from Radware."
"The product's pricing is a good value."
"Licensing of Radware is quite simple and straightforward, while Arbor DDos is a bit complicated."
"It is sort of middle-of-the-road for this type of solution."
"Radware DefensePro is a bit on the expensive side."
"The price varies by use case and there are monthly and annual licensing options. If you deploy on-premise, there is an annual license with the amount dependent on the throughput you need and which features you will be using - i.e. IPS, behavioral, etc."
"The pricing is okay, and I do not have any concerns about the price."
"The initial cost is over $100,000 for one appliance."
