Good documentation and proxy support with a helpful community available for troubleshooting
It's useful that we can find unused objects. This helps us to get rid of unused objects in our database, Proxy support is valuable for us. We can apply centralized proxy settings to get additional databases when we need them. Revision history and detailed audit log is a good feature with this we can always feeling safe if somethings go wrong, I'm sure that I can go back the old one. Smart Event is a very good feature. It provides a graphical view of the traffics and provides history. The filter syntax is very good and helps control when we need it.

A stable solution with excellent features and a helpful technical support team
We use the solution for cyber fusion centers The product has a lot of strong points compared to other tools. The prices must be reduced. I have been using the solution for one year. I am using the latest version of the solution. I rate the tool’s stability a nine out of ten. In my company,…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The Check Point Management server is isolated from security gateways, which means that in case there is an issue, we have our configuration ready and we can directly replace the device and push the configuration."
"The solution is easy to use and comes with few vulnerabilities. You don't have to worry about release upgrades. Life cycle management is very easy."
"The tool is cost-effective."
"HA Structure provides good coverage and works fine."
"The support is pretty incredible. Check Point has support rep programs that go all the way up to putting one of their own people in your business to help you. Then, they have support programs. If you're an expert, you just need to be able to download updated files and stuff. They have support programs like that, too."
"Being able to install a version of Check Point Security Management helps us avoid the expense of creating a server dedicated to that function, and we save on equipment and technical personnel in installing it, which in the end accelerates the administration and management of equipment to connect to it."
"The fact that everything starts from the same unified management console makes it very easy to integrate new equipment or functionalities once the operator has become familiar with it, as everything will follow similar management or operation mechanisms."
"It offers numerous features and blades, including intrusion prevention (IPS) and malware detection. It excels in network security and VPN capabilities, including IPSec VPNs. IPS is particularly powerful due to its signature-based detection, which automatically checks for and identifies malicious software."
"The product is stable."
"The technical support team is helpful."

Cons

"It would be helpful if the documentation and good practice guides are updated. Many are still from R77."
"Check Point EDR has room for improvement, especially in the area of Data Loss Prevention where it currently lacks functionality."
"It would be helpful if we could enable URL and application traffic control remote access."
"The graphical interface is nice but it is a bit heavy."
"I would like this solution to be integrated directly into the Cluster XL equipment."
"If the SmartView monitor can be integrated in the R80.40 and R81 versions, that would be ideal in understanding the trends and graphs of how traffic is observed hitting the different Check Point Firewall Gateways that the Security Management controls."
"Troubleshooting is quite complicated within multi-domain management. If an issue arises, the local administrator has to keep in mind that there are other domains that could be also affected."
"The web administration tool that allows administration in the browser must be developed even more."
"The prices must be reduced."
"The tool doesn't integrate well with ServiceNow."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If one will be very expensive, and ten means low price, I rate the tool's price as a three out of ten."
"The solution is expensive."
"The pricing can be estimated around 3 or 4 out of 10 in terms of expense."
"Check Point is much cheaper than the competition ($4/server as compared to $17/server)."
"Price-wise, it is an expensive solution."
"Do the homework because Check Point is rather expensive."
"The solution is expensive and there is an annual license."
"This product can be used for 25 security gateways on a basic license."
