Client history has helped resolve past network issues more efficiently
I mostly use the client history feature of Cisco DNA Center. I didn't use the real-time monitoring capability of Cisco DNA Center because I primarily used it for client history regarding issues and problems. I don't use it for real-time monitoring. If there is a problem, I can inspect the situation and see what is happening, which is beneficial.

Reduces the number of trouble tickets and is easy to deploy and troubleshoot
Deployment is straightforward and quick. This solution uses templates that simplify configuring for many devices simultaneously. If some network devices miscontribute or have a problem in configuration, I can solve this problem without an administrator. It collects many parameters from each device, and after that, we can get good reports about working equipment and the network. With this installation process, you must first prepare configuration templates in the cloud. After that, you can easily add new devices without further configuration. Once the devices connect to the cloud, they automatically receive the configuration. It doesn't take more than one hour, depending on the network. I rate the initial setup a ten out of ten, where one is difficult and ten is easy.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The price is really high, but it's worth every single dollar you pay."
"The automation features are significant, reducing configuration time. This means outstanding functionality. By deploying the controller automatically, the rest becomes automated"
"Has a good processing feature with a high level of accuracy."
"The best feature of Cisco DNA Center is the visibility page, where you can see everything on the dashboard, and you don't have to be a technical person to view the issues."
"What I found valuable in Cisco DNA Center is the Software-Defined Access Network, so the entire LAN network can be centralized and managed from a single dashboard."
"The most valuable feature of Cisco DNA Center is the AI (Artificial Intelligence) that provides us with valuable information."
"DNA Center is scalable."
"Cisco DNA Center is a user-friendly solution."
"The customer chose this solution because it helped reduce the number of trouble tickets. It’s easy to deploy and troubleshoot, as the solution uses AI to identify root issues."
"The product greatly improved our organization in terms of making configuration, deployment, and firmware upgrades easy for multiple automated devices."
"The most valuable feature of Juniper Mist Wired Assurance is zero-touch provisioning for query edge switches. You can connect the switch directly to your edge locations and then directly onboard, similar to the Cisco Meraki solutions."

Cons

"Cisco DNA Center isn't as stable, particularly with the logs, because it doesn't replicate the exact logs."
"Cisco DNA Center should improve its configuration management. It is better to have a dev version before pushing it."
"The initial setup is straightforward except for the issue that this solution is incompatible with switches or access points from other vendors. That is very bad."
"It's a very good product, however, it comes with a very high price."
"Cisco could improve the security side of their solutions."
"The solution's integration feature can be better."
"It seems to be a little bit more centered toward wireless than wired. You've got more options you can do wirelessly than you can with the wired switches, but it works for what we need it to do. We would like to see a little bit more about the traffic, and we're looking at what's out there to see about that. We are looking at something that might give us a bit more insight into the actual traffic. If they had the full functionality on the wired side, as they do on the wireless side in terms of being able to view traffic and everything, it would be good."
"The network, data center, and SD-WAN are all being treated as different services, but I would like to have only one solution to manage all of them."
"This cloud solution is built on microservices, and Juniper continuously adds new ones to enhance performance or introduce additional services."
"The platform’s monitoring tool is not up to the mark. It is not proactive enough and lacks some capabilities. Additionally, they should work on providing integration with other vendors."
"The configuration aspect of the solutions is relatively new, but I have had positive experiences. However, for more advanced tasks, such as VXLANs on the EX platform, Juniper Mist Wired Assurance may not be the best option due to certain limitations. Nonetheless, it does have a CLI override feature for specialized configurations that cannot be done through the GUI."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Cisco DNA Center is a licensed product with multiple levels of licensing available such as basic, advanced, and essential. I don't have the exact figure, but Cisco DNA Center is costly. For example, the box has information about the essential license and costs a considerable amount of money. You need to pay extra to use advanced features in Cisco DNA Center. My company sees Cisco DNA Center as a solution that's worth the money, which is why it invested in the solution. If you want centralized management for your network, especially when upgrading it, Cisco DNA Center is perfect, but it's more suitable for a large-scale rather than a small-scale network."
"We have a three-year license with them."
"I would rate the pricing a six out of ten, with ten being expensive."
"The price could be better. It's a very expensive tool."
"Affordability is a problem because it's created for large enterprises only. So, some customers, even if their engineers want the solution, might have problems with budget limitations."
"The tool is medium-priced."
"The solution is a little bit expensive but depends a lot on the customer's usage. If you use it in the right place, you can easily pay for it."
"The partnership price is notably high, but it ultimately depends on the chosen business model."
