Helps to save money and resources with the data compression feature
One point I'd like to improve is that the tool should start selling small boxes again. It discontinued some products and is focusing on bigger, more capable boxes, neglecting the SMB market. Even though it's not a big market, it shouldn't have removed them. One way to improve the product is to add an operational assistant that doesn't depend on VMware. It could also establish more alliances with other operational systems.

Straightforward with great snapshots and no complicated configuration
The usage of the system is very straightforward. It is simple and easy to use. It has great snapshots. I can take a million snapshots and also schedule the timing. There is no complicated configuration for queries and calls. You just create a model and go. This generation of the product, overall, has been very nice. It is stable. The solution can scale.

"The latency is good."
"The solution is very straightforward to set up."
"We are satisfied with the performance as it is significantly faster compared to traditional storage options."

"Pure FlashArray X NVMe helps to improve our processing speed. It is user-friendly and easy to use."
"The biggest improvement we found when moving into Dell PowerStore was the deduplication and compression."
"Dell PowerStore is an easy and fast tool to work through our company's data."
"A particularly valuable feature is its simplicity."
"The main feature of Dell PowerStore is its support for NVMe as well as hybrid solutions."
"The solution's migration feature is very valuable, but the most valuable thing is that more features appear with every iteration of the software."
"For access from virtual machines, iSCSI, and NFS, it is very good. It helps increase performance."
"I have found the most valuable part of Dell PowerStore is the price."
"The PowerStore's compression ratio is even higher than the Unity system."
"The initial setup is easy compared to other vendors."
"HPE is excellent, at least in this part of the world in Kuwait."
"The solution is easily manageable."
"HP has its own software called InfoSight for the users. It performs predictive analysis and takes a proactive approach to identify issues even before failures occur."
"The platform’s most valuable feature is the ability to process huge amounts of data."

Cons

"There is room for improvement in catering to midrange storage needs, especially for customers seeking Enterprise-class features."
"If the customer only needs 500 terabytes and doesn't care how much data they'll put in the server, IBM is cheaper than Pure."
"Our use cases require more multi-tenant capabilities and additional VLAN interfaces for separating different customers. We currently use it to provide storage, sometimes shared storage, to different customers, but it is less flexible in comparison to a dedicated solution."
"Managing data isn't difficult for me. The performance is usually perfect, but we sometimes have capacity problems."
"It is on the expensive side."
"In the future, I would like to see integration with enterprise backup systems."
"In the next release, I would like to see real-time analytics for further insight into consumption models."
"Adding some functions to the product would be beneficial. Storage replication should be essential, and the analytics should not incur extra charges."
"When it comes to Dell PowerStore, I would like to see more integration and more security features included. It's unfortunate that the solution does not feature Flash trace."
"You cannot delegate permissions."
"We have not seen an ROI and it would be good to have an ROI calculator made available by Dell."
"There are certain shortcomings with the technical support team of Dell PowerStore, where improvements are required."
"The support team doesn't always provide adequate assistance. So, there is room for improvement in the support."
"Users can be enrolled in lifecycle extension with pro support. The pricing for that is too high for PowerStore."
"There could be better reporting."
"The solution only does thin provisioning."
"The product is expensive. I rate the pricing a nine out of ten."
"The product’s ability to recover information and generate reports needs enhancement."
"It might be expensive."
"It might be expensive. If budgets are not a concern for any client, I recommend All-Flash."
"The support, visibility, and reporting features must be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Pure FlashArray X NVMe’s pricing is cheaper than other products."
"The tool's pricing is cheap; I rate it a six to seven out of ten. Most of our sales are not subscription-based. We sell the hardware, and customers keep using it. They only renew the service part annually. The support can be a bit pricey, but the solution is more cost-effective than anything else out there."
"As far as the licensing costs, everything is included in the license."
"Given its price, Pure is not the first option."
"With Pure Storage, we would like to continue seeing price reductions with flash storage. I don't think we're any different than anybody else when we continue to look to the industry for price reductions of both NVMe and traditional SSD storage. We would like to see these prices continue to decline and erode, even displacing large spinning disks."
"Our licensing fees are $500,000+ USD."
"Pretty much everything that you need is licensed when you buy the product. Licensing to me is different than the maintenance cost, but they can bleed into one another. We buy the product, and we expect three years of support bundled into what we negotiate on our storage arrays. I would start to see maintenance costs going into the fourth year, but we're not there yet."
"They can tout the functionality and cutting edge technology that they have, but that's where the price tag comes in. The cost is high, but I think as they grow their business and get more customers that it will probably go down a little bit."
"In the pricing and licensing department, the product is always too expensive."
"Dell PowerStore charges for the hardware warranty every three years. The price will depend on the storage model or how much hardware it has."
"Dell PowerStore is more expensive than Dell EMC Unity All Flash. Dell PowerStore's performance metrics were way higher than what Dell EMC Unity All Flash offered."
"Dell PowerStore is affordable and the license is just a face license which is great."
"Dell PowerStore is not a cheap solution."
"There's still a cap on the upgrade path, where you can consume all the engines within the frame before you have to go to another frame... Normally, we exceed the IOPS on the frames before we can ever exhaust the storage, so anything they can do to help us avoid stranded storage capacity, capacity that we couldn't get to, would be beneficial."
"The price is high compared to the Tunisian market."
"We purchased it with a five-year warranty."
"The product is expensive. I rate the pricing a nine out of ten."
"The product is more expensive than one of its competitors."
"The product is not cheap."
