Solution has a useful AI engine, but the reports could be a bit better
We are typically about a version or two behind. We are on the managed solution. Our model of deployment is on-premises. I would say there are a couple of thousand users of this solution in our company. We are also planning on increasing the usage as our apps migrate to the cloud. I would advise other people looking into solutions, to do their homework beforehand and not assume that by deploying all the tools everything will automatically work, so there's still a lot of configuration involved. I would rate this solution as a whole an eight, on a scale from one to 10, with one being the worst and 10 being the best.

Easy to deploy, stable, and scalable
I use JenniferSoft to monitor the performance and transaction traces of our applications The most valuable feature of the solution is the ability to divide the authorization of users because a lot of the people in our organization have different authorizations. The dashboard is a valuable…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It has AI capabilities for anomaly detection. Also, they are a fully automated solution, so it's easy to use when it comes to deployment."
"We have been capturing all the information and evaluating whether it can be improved or not."
"Interrelating the logs and infrastructure issues, application issues, DC RUM, everything in one dashboard, saves us time in troubleshooting."
"I am primarily doing DC RUM, so on that side there are a lot of awesome abilities where people who can't implement an agent are able to still monitor a lot of their apps and decodes."
"UEM helps to identify user experience and detailed steps performed by the user."
"It gives us all the data on all the calls, which is something that is very different from any other APM solution that I have seen or used in the past."
"We have configured the alerting so the error or the incident will go to the respective team. Then, the team can contact the user once they see that they have an issue and ask if they can them resolve the issue."
"UEM can be used for user impact analysis and troubleshooting."
"The dashboard is a valuable feature."

Cons

"C language integration requires manual implementation through the SDK, which is rather difficult and time consuming."
"There's no download action for the reports, so if they could add something like that, it would add value for us. We cannot save data for more than seven to 10 days, so it would be better to add a feature for downloading. At least we could store the data and then we could compare for ourselves, where we are starting and where we are and where we are heading. I would have those metrics."
"I'd like to see self-healing and I'd also like to see more automation. It looks like is that's the direction Dynatrace is heading in, in their Dynatrace product."
"There should be more visibility for network performance monitoring. There should be more metrics for things like 5G and IoT. That would be the main thing because they've moved more to mobile performance rather than fixed networks."
"In the new Dynatrace solution, support for legacy applications is still not there. "
"We need more AI in the product to avoid manual analysis."
"We would also like to see all the good data in a single view across multiple tools, so that access to integration is critical."
"Need better mapping to true business service rather than purely technical monitoring."
"The solution is pricy and has room for improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Getting the first agents installed, getting information, and coverage in a initial set of systems can be done in hours and with a low cost entry point."
"The cost is somewhat high."
"Consider volume because that is where you will get the most benefit. Doing a point solution is not cost-effective."
"The price range is quite high."
"It's more expensive than other solutions, but worth it. We use full APM monitoring on our primary systems, but only resource monitoring on lesser systems. We shift licenses around our environment when a deeper dive into lesser systems is required."
"Product pricing can seem a little over complex, however this is minor and does not detract from the benefits of the solution."
"The setup costs for Dynatrace are low, however licensing costs are high."
"As compared to New Relic and other providers, it is more expensive, which is its biggest disadvantage. Its biggest advantage is its capability. It is more feature-rich."
