The single-agent format is easy to use and accurately captures issues
We are currently migrating from AppDynamics to the solution. AppDynamics is moving toward a fast model and has a few issues with vendor support. It also requires multiple agents for each function. For example, a Java-related APM requires the installation of another agent. The solution is a bit higher priced than AppDynamics but is more user friendly and only requires one agent, so our application teams prefer it.

Easy to deploy, stable, and scalable
I use JenniferSoft to monitor the performance and transaction traces of our applications The most valuable feature of the solution is the ability to divide the authorization of users because a lot of the people in our organization have different authorizations. The dashboard is a valuable…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We scaled from 300 agents to 800 agents in six months. There were no issues at the server level, which is pretty good."
"The alerting systems are definitely the most valuable feature. The AI engine, "Davis," has proved to be a game-changer for us, as it helps to alert us when there are anomalies found in our applications or in their performance... letting the Davis engine find those anomalies and push them to the top, especially as they relate to business impact, is very valuable to us."
"The monitoring is very good."
"The Dashboard is very useful, as you can monitor different parameters on the same screen."
"The most valuable feature the solution offers right now is the PurePath. When we see a web request, and something failing, we can drill down using PurePath."
"The full stack - Everything from the browser, all the way back to the database, and being able to see everything, and really narrow in very quickly on what is the root cause."
"Dynatrace shows the customer path, common errors on desktop and mobile, and allows us to achieve faster page loads."
"Being able to identify the blind spots. Before, we had lots of monitoring, but it was all very manual. You only monitor what you know about. As soon as we put Dynatrace in, it sprung to life, and we identified problems instantly."
"The dashboard is a valuable feature."

Cons

"I would like to see the Business Transactions made easier, so you can distinguish users and companies (this can get very hairy for a large multi-tenant application)."
"Right now, there is a log analysis feature. This is maybe a little more deeper than the log analytics in comparison to other tools, like Splunk or Sumo Logic. If Dynatrace can come up with this replay feature, that would be great."
"The UX/UI needs improvement. It is not easy to learn."
"We would like the AI to produce more scientific data with less configuration."
"I need more experience."
"I am unable to use Synthetic to automate user login."
"The user interface needs to be improved."
"Configuration could be simpler."
"The solution is pricy and has room for improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Dynatrace has a place for everybody. How you use it and what your budgetary limitations are will dictate what you do with it. But it's within everybody's reach. If you're a small organization and you have a large infrastructure, you may not be able to monitor the whole thing. You may have to pick and choose what you want to monitor, and you have the ability to do so. Your available funds are going to dictate that."
"I feel the price is good for what the product does."
"It's expensive."
"Price (of the product) is a major concern for all the clients I work with."
"You get a really well-planned out monitoring suite for the money spent."
"The price range is quite high."
"Product pricing can seem a little over complex, however this is minor and does not detract from the benefits of the solution."
"The product is superior to others, but it comes with a price tag that is often difficult to position back to clients."
