It's easy to set up because you point the DNS to it, and it's working in under 15 minutes
Cloudflare is highly scalable. Cloudflare is a system with a web portal that the end users like me see. It's a console where we can adjust the DNS, caching, and security features all in that console. Cloudflare owns thousands of servers across the world that cache the data. It's a powerful solution. When clients sign up for Cloudflare, they're getting this monster content delivery network, security, and a web application firewall in one. It's all rolled into one, and it's massive. Unless you have your website hosted on a massive hosting provider, there's no way that you can deliver the amount of data that Cloudflare can provide to the end users. If you have static content, there's no way that you can ever match what Cloudflare can do. Obviously, there are competitors to Cloudflare that do the same, but I'm saying other types of solutions. Let's say you go with F5. Great, that's on-prem. That's in your colo. You can't deliver as much data to the internet as you can with a CDN. You don't have to spend $20,000 on a net scaler, F5, or whatever Cisco's selling now. You don't have to buy that. You pay them $50 a month or $150 a month. It's totally worth it because even in five years, you'll never get the performance value, not just the actual ROI. You have to consider how much throughput you can get with Cloudflare.

Cost-effective and used as an effective firewall
We use Indusface AppTrana as a firewall The solution should add an enhanced dashboard to make it easy to navigate. I have been using Indusface AppTrana for a few months. Indusface AppTrana is a stable solution that doesn't break down. Around 100 users are using the solution in our…

Plays a vital role in safeguarding our network by protecting us from DDoS threats and attacks
We've been encountering a lack of updates in DefensePro. Currently, we're facing numerous bugs within our data solution. These bugs are impacting the failover process, and we're observing repeated crashes of the Elasticsearch container across various workflows. There's room for improvement in the clarity of the feedback provided by the command service in the CLI. Specifically, the messages it gives when something happens to Docker containers could be more informative. For example, it might simply state that container states have changed, or it might mention the directory paths where container data is saved, but these messages don't provide enough detail. To access the files, users currently need to navigate through a complex directory structure, which isn't very user-friendly. There is a need for more informative release notes. The current ones lack detail about what's included in the updates and what fixes have been implemented. This makes it difficult for users to understand the changes and how they might affect the experience.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most valuable feature is the web application firewall."
"The most valuable feature of Cloudflare DNS is its global reach and it is always evolving."
"The solution is stable, and the DNS servers are simple to use."
"It's very user-friendly."
"The solution automatically detects and responds to certain types of traffic based on geolocation."
"The most valuable feature of Cloudflare is that it has a free version. They give us the free version with the anti-DDoS features and also the load balancing solution."
"We're using dynamic components to build flexible pages to create and manage Git merge requests for code and reviews."
"Smaller businesses have seen great ROI due to the low investment and strong performance."
"We use Indusface AppTrana as a firewall."
"All of our traffic has to pass through the appliance, so we can very quickly mitigate the attack. This is a very valuable feature. On top of that, it's not only volumetric attack protection that the solution offers, but also layer 7 attack protection as well."
"It has kept us up and operational on a day-to-day basis, without being interrupted by an attack from outside sources."
"As a service provider, we use the SecOps dashboard feature. That's where we check the time of attacks to see if an attack is happening at the moment or if it has already happened... It is very dynamic and helps us know when an attack occurred, how long it lasted, and what type of attack it was."
"The product is very effective and performs well on devices."
"I am happy to see that we have not had any DDoS attacks. This solution has successfully protected us from attacks, and no one has been able to attack our network."
"This solution is extremely scalable and has the highest level throughput (100G) which complies with Telco deployment."
"Radware Cloud DDoS Protection Service goes beyond the essential Layer Three and Layer Four protection, which are practically mandatory these days."
"It's very good at protecting users from DDoS attacks. It's the leader in this domain."

Cons

"The solution could use more analytics on the backend to give us more insights into everything. More reports would be helpful."
"I think the APIs are a little bit hard for us to work with. The APIs could be more open so that we could integrate better with our SolarWinds or our monitoring solution."
"Areas like how assessment, discovery, and payload are dealt with and how it all comes into your organization can be considered when trying to make suggestions to Cloudflare for improvements."
"The pricing could be improved."
"There might be helpful if there was some web application firewall feature."
"Technical support is lacking."
"Support response time could be improved."
"Cloudflare doesn't have a reverse lookup. We can only do a DNS lookup to get the IP address from the hostname. It doesn't work if you want to look up the hostname from an IPA address."
"The solution should add an enhanced dashboard to make it easy to navigate."
"The inability to access local technical support during our business hours poses a significant inconvenience."
"This product would be improved if ongoing live monitoring with dashboards were added."
"We would like to have seven-layer functionality."
"They should add artificial intelligence to the platform. It is currently missing the machine learning piece."
"I would like to see better implementation of a zero-day attack implementation strategy with self-mitigation."
"Radware DefensePro requires a continuous learning process. Using this technology, we can improve our network. Based on the different attack mechanisms, we use Radware DefensePro to provide security for our clients' networks very effectively."
"It could incorporate more intelligence for reacting with web site visitors."
"The rise of generative AI and machine learning in cyberattacks demands more advanced defense strategies."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"There are no additional costs beyond the standard licensing fees."
"We are using the free version."
"The price of the solution is expensive."
"That is one of the great features. I was able to access the majority of the features and services for free."
"In terms of licensing costs, we don't pay for licensing for Cloudflare. We only establish communication, then for peering, Cloudflare takes care of the cross-connection in different data centers."
"I think the pricing is competitive. I think as far as licensing is concerned it's pretty straightforward because it's based on domain. It's just that sometimes domains could be tricky with some customers."
"It's a premium model. You can start at zero and work your way up to the enterprise model, which has a very high pricing level."
"The product's pricing is minimal compared to other products."
"Indusface AppTrana is an affordable and cost-effective solution."
"The product's pricing is a good value."
"Radware DefensePro is expensive when considering the issue we have and its limitations."
"The pricing is okay, and I do not have any concerns about the price."
"Its pricing is competitive. The licensing model is also very competitive. It is customizable, so there is no issue at all. They have given us whatever we have asked in terms of the pricing model and SLA."
"The price was well over six figures."
"The pricing is based on the amount of network traffic and the number of packets being inspected."
"The price varies by use case and there are monthly and annual licensing options. If you deploy on-premise, there is an annual license with the amount dependent on the throughput you need and which features you will be using - i.e. IPS, behavioral, etc."
"Radware's Cloud DDoS Protection Service stands out for its competitive pricing, making it a strong contender in our decision."
