Replaces internal DNS servers effectively with strong support for network security
For users not already working with Infoblox, it is advisable to present it as a centralized integrated solution to handle DNS IPAM. Not all customers understand DNS security threats, so emphasizing its importance is crucial. On a scale of one to ten, I rate Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection as ten for the overall solution.

Helps maintain a consistent posture of internet security while getting rid of VPN and hovering into zero trust
There could be a better way for the tool to categorize the traffic. For example, the tool does exceptions and everything overall. If I want to give guest access or provide access to guest users or any other internet access and if it does not go through the SSL inspection because, in our company, we can't have the root certificate on a device that we don't manage, which can be called out as an exception or an exclusion, but that doesn't provide a proper reflection of the picture of what is happening in the environment. There are granularities bringing it down. The tool I used or still have is Zscaler Cloud Connector to protect the cloud environment, which can have a bit more user-friendly installation and setup, and it would help a lot. The deployment process of Zscaler Cloud Connector needs to be more user-friendly. Improvements are required in the exception category. For example, suppose I report on a monthly basis what the breaches and traffic violating the SSL inspection area are coming from. In that case, I may find that half of them may be coming through some guest network, meaning the tool doesn't differentiate between the guest or normal networks or the corporate networks. Having options to differentiate different networks would be ideal so that it can show a true picture of things to users, as half of the things in the tool are not in our control and are not of our concern.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection allows us to manage our overall addresses and IT in one location. Many companies are using this solution, it is very popular."
"It is a stable solution."
"DHCP is a basic service, and they've been doing it for years, so it's mature and stable."
"Grid high availability technology ensured network reliability, resilient network services, failover, recovery, and seamless maintenance."
"The main advantages with Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection are the dashboards, the reporting system, and they have the GUI interface."
"Infoblox DNS is quite stable. We haven't faced any failures post-implementation, and we haven't received any calls for troubleshooting or protection issues."
"It enhances DNS security and integrates with the IPAM system. It provides robust IP management and DNS security. One of its key features is the automatic response to malicious or incorrect domains."
"Infoblox DNS Protection provides complete DDI solutions, allowing customers to easily manage their IP addresses and integrate them with DNSSEC and DSCP."
"The protection is most valuable."
"The initial setup was straightforward. The biggest thing for us was to build our own policies. The deployment itself was only a few hours."
"The solution replaces multiple vendor technologies with one which makes it worth the cost."
"The policies are very intuitive and easy to configure, with very little possibility of messing things up."
"The data loss prevention feature is the most valuable. It stops our users from inadvertently leaking our customers' data to the Internet or anywhere else it shouldn't go."
"SSL inspection is a valuable feature."
"In terms of management and visibility, there is a single panel where you can configure the policies for your entire organisation worldwide."
"The initial setup is very straightforward."

Cons

"There should be better alerts for when attacks are happening."
"They should release frequent updates for its on-premises version."
"Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection could be more user-friendly because you need knowledge if you want to use it. To handle the solution, you need to be a subject matter expert, so this is one area for improvement."
"Infoblox DNS is much more expensive than DNSSEC, which is offered by other vendors."
"The service monitoring information could be simplified of this appliance and the information displayed on the dashboards could be improved. I have not found one dashboard to be perfect. For example, in Splunk, I can create a dashboard in Grafana. However, in Grafana, it takes a very long time to create them. There should be another API to do it better."
"Infoblox lacks an extensive product portfolio."
"The price could be reduced to improve the solution."
"There needs to be more capabilities in order to configure the console itself instead of the user interface dashboard. Configuring the DNS or DHCP through the console instead of the GUI dashboard would be better."
"In every cloud service in the world, you have multiple upstream internet providers to create diversity so that if one of your providers fails, your network just continues. In South Africa, there is only one upstream provider, and that's not right. That that's a problem."
"There are many functionalities in Zscaler Internet Access that need improvements, such as an advanced firewall and logging capabilities to track calls."
"I would like to see more training and video documentation."
"Zscaler Internet Access needs to integrate more ISPs. It is good to have more than three ISPs."
"They block Zscaler IPs when the traffic origin is from Zscaler IPs. They've been blocked by certain government organizations so the end users are not able to visit those websites unless we ask them to unblock those IP. This is a bit problematic."
"We'd like for them to include some sort of antivirus tool."
"They should enhance the audit reporting feature."
"Technical support could be better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution is expensive."
"I am not sure about the price of the solution, but I heard it is expensive."
"There are no additional costs to the standard licensing price of the solution."
"Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection is a little more expensive than other vendors."
"The price of Infoblox Advanced DNS Protection could be reduced, it is expensive."
"Because it's a cloud solution, we pay on a yearly basis. It is affordable and includes tech support and all features."
"It is costlier than other solutions."
"The price of Zscaler Internet Access should improve, it is expensive."
"Our monthly fee is around R3000."
"We have found the solution to be expensive."
"ZIA follows a subscription model pricing and charges you based on the number of users. I would say its price is good."
"The price is competitive. It's not cheap and it's not expensive."
"If we need any extra features, the price will increase."
