Highly scalable, user-friendly UI, and easy to maintain
We have used Juniper SRX Series Firewall in airports and multiple other industries The most valuable features of the Juniper SRX Series Firewall are the user-friendly UI, and accessing the solution is simple. The pricing strategy of the vendor could improve. I have been using Juniper SRX Series…

Has efficient user access control feature and good technical support services
The multi-core architecture allows the running of multiple instances for checking files, even handling more than 2 GB of data. It has inbuilt reporting features, reducing the cost of external monitoring software. It's well-suited for organizations that need to transfer and scan large files. The scalability is good for small and medium-sized enterprises, but for organizations with more than 200 users, the cost can become a limiting factor. It is more suitable for large enterprises, especially for organizations with over 4,000 users. However, there could be flexibility in licensing, allowing organizations to cater to their specific needs and pay for the features and licenses they require. It can help reduce costs. I rate its scalability a seven out of ten.

"It can expand easily."
"Consolidated our network environment at all locations, but mainly at our datacenter."
"One of the valuable features is a standardized OS."
"It's a firewall that secures our internal network. I have been using it since 2013, and I find that most of the features are advanced, and very user friendly."
"The ability to set up remote systems is the most valuable feature."
"The VPN is the most valuable feature."
"The ports are really versatile for their application and don't always have to be used for the purpose for which they were made."
"One of Juniper SRX's most valuable features is the site-to-site VPN."
"The solution's stability is very good."
"The solution has proven to be quite stable."
"Most of our clients use it as a traditional firewall, blocking Layer 3 and Layer 4, blocking by transport."
"Technical support is perfect."
"Juniper supports their products very well."
"We use it as a firewall at our head office and branches."
"It lets me monitor in live time if someone is 'hogging' bandwidth."
"We like their interface very much. It's pretty easy to use."
"The most valuable feature is content filtering and app control."
"Its user interface and simplicity are the most favorite parts for our clients. They find it stable and easy to use. Its performance is also good."
"No negative impression of the scalability."
"The product’s filtering and URL-blocking features are valuable."
"The site-to-site VPN connections, content filtering, and in our current remote working situation, SSL VPN remote desktop connectivity are the most valuable features."
"SonicWall TZ think it's a good, solid, and stable product."

Cons

"Fortinet FortiGate can improve the integration with Active Directory. Additionally, I would like to have a Cloud Controller, such as they do in the Cisco Meraki solution."
"Cisco Meraki products are rising very quickly in the cloud and the connected era. Meraki products offer much better ROI, upgradability, and manageability."
"The setup is pretty complex and not easy to implement."
"The reporting in Fortinet FortiGate could improve. Customers are having to purchase additional reporting components. When I have used the Sophos solution it is a complete solution, in Fortinet FortiGate you have to use additional tools to have the features needed."
"The pricing could be a bit better, especially when you consider how they have the most basic offering priced."
"Its filtering is sometimes too precise or strict. We sometimes have to bypass and authorize some of the sites, but they get blocked. We know that they are trusted sites, but they are blocked, and we don't know why."
"I could not configure sFlow from the FortiGate graphical user interface. I realized that the sFlow configuration is available only from the CLI, and discovered that sFlow is not supported on virtual interfaces, such as VDOM links, IPsec, or GRE."
"Fortinet FortiGate is not very easy to use. The navigation could be improved to make it easier to use."
"I think Juniper SRX should have a GUI. Some of the competitors are already implementing GUI for the firewall."
"JTAC (Juniper Networks Technical Assistance Center) is just okay for technical assistance. However, if you are used to Cisco TAC responsiveness, you will need to adjust your expectations with Juniper Networks TAC."
"The user interface and the GUI need improvement."
"It would be ideal if the solution could use cloud services to help update signatures or threat prevention systems."
"The GUI needs to be easier and more helpful for users who don't have security experience."
"The big thing is performance. With all the features turned on it slows down."
"In some cases, customers encounter issues related to network interfaces, while others prioritize security concerns."
"It did not improve our safety because the IDS does not detect some attacks, but our anti-virus software did."
"SonicWall TZ can improve the UI application and when you create any net policies or any new policy, it will not sync or work properly."
"Its pricing can be better. It is very expensive."
"The log analyzer in SonicWall TZ is something that they need to improve upon."
"The dashboard needs to be improved."
"In general, the company needs to think contingently and integrate more security options."
"It could be made more user friendly."
"The solution's pricing could be made cheaper."
"The technology in this particular version is very old."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It scales well if you know what to buy from a physical box standpoint. They seem to offer something for every level."
"The price could be lower."
"Its licenses cost the same for different subscription plans."
"The price of Fortinet FortiGate is reasonable for an SME."
"The price of Fortinet FortiGate is affordable. Most of our customers are on a three-year license to use the solution. All the features and support are included in the price."
"A year or two years back, its price was competitive and reasonable. That was one of the reasons that people easily switched to Fortinet. Over the last two years, the prices have increased drastically. However, the prices of others have also increased. An advantage is there from the price point but not as much as it was previously."
"We have the full version of Fortinet FortiGate and we are on a three-year contract with a commitment of five years."
"The pricing is fair."
"The pricing appears to be cost-effective, and the cost is quite reasonable within Bangladesh and other countries, though it may vary based on global currency fluctuations."
"Its price is comparable to the competition."
"In terms of pricing, Juniper is in the middle. The most expensive firewall is Palo Alto. If a customer wants the cheapest price they should go for FortiGate. Juniper is in between these products."
"It is not that expensive."
"In general, their price definitely couldn't be cheaper."
"I rate the solution's pricing as a four."
"There is value for money. It offers a good solution at a good price. The price is normal for such a product."
"The price is reasonable."
"It is a bit expensive. We have to purchase the license and the reporting part separately, which makes it a bit pricey. This is the main reason why we have thought of moving to another firewall. It would be good if they combine both of these."
"Licensing fees are on a monthly basis."
"It has a yearly subscription."
"The solution is moderately priced, where it's neither cheap nor expensive."
"SonicWall has authorized distributors in our country. They have about two or three distributors in the country, so it makes it a bit easier. What we do is to request a quotation from these distributors, then we do a value for money analysis and see which one of them is giving us a competitive price."
"The price is high compared to some other solutions."
"The price of SonicWall TZ is good for medium-sized companies."
"The pricing was a factor for us, and we felt that the price was good."
